Really? She lived with this guy and didn't know? She had a camper van parked on the drive and didn't know he stole the money to buy it?

I don't buy it.

Frank Ross, the accountant, didn’t join alba.

No he’s still SNP

It absolutely does.

I mean, it doesn’t suit your stance that they were all just randoms with no skills that one was an accountant and one a strong legal background, but it makes sense to everyone else

Being a lawyer doesn’t mean you can count.

She was on a different level to them politically, she was interacting with a global audience to get trade and tourism into Scotland, you have to present a certain way, the house in Spam Valley and the rings on fingers probably convinced most people who were not looking too hard. For sure there are other properties they both own somewhere to lead separate lives in, the Lego house next to loads of neighbours where she always talks to the press is like a prop from Brookside, it is too obviously part of an act IMO.

Oh I see...you mean she felt that countries opposed to homosexuality would be an issue if she were open?

Sad if so.

Can I ask what you mean about rings? You mean wedding rings would convince most people. Or that people would assume a woman wearing jewellery couldn't be lesbian?

If you can’t see why a legal background is useful on a finance and audit committee, who are there to ensure the party is following the law as well as making sure the sums add up, then it’s a pointless discussion.

Sturgeon is a solicitor isn’t she?

The really cynical version of this story is that it was a lavender marriage, Sturgeon got married to him for the control it would give her, that they both benefited, she carried on with her affairs on the side, he got sign off for the lifestyle, and perhaps there prior corruption about the SNP accounts which is said to have happened stayed in house and almost impossible to see. She spent most of her time in Edinburgh and lived a life effectively alone. She could have been open, but it would not have given her the control she wanted. And she was quite ruthless in dispatching anyone who might have threatened that, including her former mentor Salmond. He discovered that all the talents and control he had passed to her would be used against him later. That is the story, and it’s nearly Shakespeare, frankly.

Control ot would give her? - you mean being married to Murrell gave her extra control? That sounds plausible...

She's as complicit as f#ck.

I've read that he was buying stuff on Amazon to be sent direct to his family members and Nicola Sturgeon's family members.
As for the gaming stuff, I've seen dark suggestions about who he may have been buying those for.

You mean a Philip Schofiled/Huw Edwards type scenario? Possible.

He could be an obsessive gamer himself though, hopefully if it is dark it will come out.

A woman wearing a wedding ring living with a man wearing a wedding ring living in a Lego house on the outskirts of Glasgow might be viewed by some as a married couple?

Jane379 · Yesterday 18:10

AlternateLook · Yesterday 11:42

The thing about Nicola Sturgeon is that she's more unpopular in Scotland than Margaret Thatcher ever was.

Why won't they vote the SNP out? I understand the non-SNP vote is split but maybe they should unify just to get them out.

Oh right I see you meant wedding rings! Yes, that would be the usual situation! But nothing is as it seems with the SNP apparently....

I just feel sorry for all the mugs who thought she was the spawn of Braveheart and that she was going to lead them to a glorious future away from the "Bad Tories".

I think there’s a huge danger that the involvement of other people will be forgotten because the focus is so much on NS.

John Swinney has been very prominent for the entire time of Murrells placement.

Even the likes of Joanna Cherry - she and the Keres are being praised for quitting the finance and audit committee but that was after the journalist flagged issues so unless that was their first sitting on the committee then where were their questions the year before? And the year before that? And how come the journalist asked questions first?

The questions that should be answered shouldn’t be forgotten in the questioning of Sturgeon.

  • exactly. I like Cherry but this must be asked.

Then we will stop discussing. Remember this is a woman who adores AS.

The Tories are hated in Scotland by too many to ever be a force again, and Labour aren't far behind due to their stance on a lot of issues, but these two plus the Lib Dems and now Reform still get more overall votes than the Nats. It plays right into the Nats hands that the Unionist parties split the opposition vote between them.

Well my take is that people on their income don"t really live in new-build estates with loads of neighbours like a Scottish version of Brookside, that more than anything feels fake to me, I was born in the same town as her, my cousins went to the same High School as she did, her lifestyle is basically an open secret in that area, nobody really cares though, it is the feeling that she was out to line her pockets rather than liberate Scotland from Tory rule that will annoy people more than anything.

And your someone who thinks stating that “all” of those who left the committee ran to alba, when at least two of the four didn’t

enjoy your evening

Sturgeon not very aware of much it seems. If only it was genuine oversight but her level of incompetence is staggering.

Karma will eventually catch up with her.

IberianLynx · Yesterday 18:38

She hasn’t been charged or found guilty of anything but she lost the respect of all. Hard to imagine that a few years ago she was highly thought of and even admired by a lot of people not just SNP supporters! Now it’s all over for her I imagine that she will write a book, hoping to make even more money.
