Driving like idiots
neighbours blasting loud music in their garden I can hear it in my house with doors and windows closed
smell weed everywhere
a lot of drunk anti social behaviour

yes I get some of this happens in normal weather but why does the hot weather cause it to surge or skyrocket?

Totally.

I went to the beach 8.30am as I knew we would need to leave by mid morning.

Speakers blasting, drinking, swearing, dogs everywhere - I don’t give a shiny how friendly it is, I don’t want your beach wet dog jumping on me!

That was only 11am…

@Noshadowsinthedarkness its sad but im not surprised

Why do people react like this and go nuts or is it because people are having to cut back on holidays now and make the best of uk weather

😄 I feel like everyone collectively loses their minds when it gets hot

I'm sure there must be more car accidents and fights - just the heat riling everyone up

flapjackfairy · Yesterday 20:31

yes neighbours pissed and making a racket in the garden . Couldn't give a shit about anyone else. Boy racers with stupid farting engines roaring about. I bloody hate every minute of summer.

This particular beach we visit all year so I look forward to having it back for just us once the weather calms down.

October there isn’t a soul there, it’s lovely.

We will go back tomorrow and take a bin bag with us…

maybe it's the lack of sleep as most people dont get air con

A lot of it is stuff that goes on behind closed doors when the weather is miserable. Not sure it’s change in behaviour/ culture/ moral values - it’s just out in the open during nice weather.

People go absolutely feral when the sun shines in the UK and Ireland

I totally agree with this.
It's one of the reasons why I hate hot weather.

I live in a seaside place so we see the worst of behaviours. I haven't got over the disgusting behaviour of a Glasgow woman who hit a seagull over the head with a glass bottle here last year on a crowded beach. One of the local peope bravely confronted her.

The fights and the anti social behaviour and the necessity now of having a continual police presence patrolling the beach on hot days. And the litter and debris left behind is just awful.

Very depressing.

RampantIvy · Yesterday 21:01

I live in a road where most house owners are retired so, fortunately, we don't get this behaviour.

We sat on the terrace having a quiet drink with some neighbours earlier this evening. That's how exciting it gets round here.

Heat rises, crime usually rises along with it.

More people out and about and for longer periods, heat can make people more irritable and aggressive compared to the cold.

Minks are going mink
Regardless of the weather
The sun brings the mink out of there usual habitats.

In a study in seven US cities, every 5°C rise in daily mean temperature between 2007 and 2017 was associated with a 4·5% increase in sex offences in the following 0–8 days. A nationwide analysis in Japan between 2012 and 2015 found that ambulance transports due to assault increased linearly with the rise in daily temperatures.

Yes I'm afraid it died.

I know gulls can be a nuisance but some people's behaviour towards them is absolutely atrocious. I won't repeat some of ths awful stories i've heard because they are really distressing.

I'm sorry to have upset you. I'm still quite upset about the incident as well.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · Yesterday 21:15

My ex used to play music loudly in the garden.

It made me cringe, it’s so rude.

I agree.i have just come back from
the shop, two neighbours arguing on the street, and everything else you just said.awful.

This is a truly refreshing thread for me OP. Thankyou, I hate summer, busy beaches and chavs. Glad im not alone in this!

miaCara · Yesterday 21:18

I seriously considered contacting social services about a neighbour who has spent the entire day yelling at her 2 small girls. She never seems to speak to them in a normal voice but barks orders at them and always ends with NOW. It makes me jump and I'm 2 gardens away !
Then the local biker boy decided to ride his latest machine up and down the street at full speed without helmet or leathers.
Other than both of these annoyances the street was as quiet as can be though.

Ileithyia · Yesterday 21:20

Far too many people seem to not be able to think of anything else to do on a hot bank holiday weekend except get drunk and be rowdy. My neighbours are in full flow, music blasting, yelling conversations, shouting karaoke, and kids running around screaming. There will be various guests in and out til 3am or so if they follow their usual pattern.

Vile.

SqueakyFromme · Yesterday 21:22

@Somethingbland it should have been prosecuted, I love gulls they’re magnificent birds, they’re only trying to survive. That’s so sad.

BitOutOfPractice · Yesterday 21:26

I’ve been to my local tonight and sat with maybe 259 people of all ages having a drink with their friends / partners in the sunshine. I’m now at home in my city centre flat. I’m overlooking a big park. A few people having a picnic / drink still left but it’s mainly peaceful. It’s not everywhere.
