Driving like idiots
neighbours blasting loud music in their garden I can hear it in my house with doors and windows closed
smell weed everywhere
a lot of drunk anti social behaviour

yes I get some of this happens in normal weather but why does the hot weather cause it to surge or skyrocket?

Haven't they got dog-free beaches round your way?

All the beaches in my county have sections where dogs aren't allowed. You should lobby the council to set aside dog-free bits if they haven't already done so.

The ridiculous thing is that it is a dog free beach… nobody policing it though.

Equally nobody should let their dogs jump on people.

I like dogs generally but my child is terrified after being knocked down when small. We are working on him getting used to them but poorly behaved dogs and owners don’t help. It doesn’t make a sodding difference shouting ‘its friendly’ as their dog gets all over us and my child is in hysterics.

People are enjoying the sun. They’re allowed to listen to music or indulge in a little bit of cannabis. Loosen up a little.

People are allowed to be annoying and others are allowed to wonder wtf happened for someone to stay so self-centred beyond childhood. Imagine someone keeps poking you in the ribs when you just want to relax and chill out after a hard week at work. And then imagine someone telling you to lighten up, they're just having fun. That's the equivalent of someone taking over the outside with their music. Why can't we make it so everyone can enjoy the sun (or even just open their windows in the hot weather)? Why can't everyone get the chance to relax and have fun?

Speaking as a former stoner who loves music...

I have had the weekend ruined by noisy cars and bikes . All noise modifications should be banned .

IsItWickedNotToCare · 24/05/2026 16:53

Every bank holiday and remotely warm day our inconsiderate selfish neighbours are in their garden, blasting out crap music, shouting, laughing, this goes on from midday till about 11pm. We can never sit in our garden any more as it's so loud. Really hate it but don't really want to get into neighbour warfare. 😒 Although I do let our dog out to have a loud bark in the garden at 6am as a slight revenge.

Screamingabdabz · 24/05/2026 16:56

Ugh, yes, and ripe people in man made fibre who stink.

Zov · 24/05/2026 17:10

100%.

I have been sitting in my garden (for a few hours) with my headphones in, with the music so loud that it's probably not doing my ears any good, because of neighbour noise outside. The house at the back of me has 2 kids, (infant age - 3-5,) and they have invited several of their neighbours around, with their 6 kids (aged 5 to 8) to play in the big inflatable pool they have just bought.

They have a stinky BBQ going so I have had to take my washing in, and they're playing loud music, (crap music too) and the kids are SO LOUD. Literally screaming blue murder for NOTHING. Why do they have to scream? WHY?! 😕

'Mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom' from the one girl on a fucking loop for about 4 HOURS. Hmm

I have given up. I've come back into the house, and I'm off for a walk in a minute. I can't keep the music in my ears indefinitely, but I can't tolerate them! And I can't stand the smell of fucking CANNABIS either. Imagine smoking that shit when you have small children to look after?! They're pissed as well after necking a ton of cider, and the more they drink, the louder they are ALL GETTING!

Utter scumbags! Angry

BurntBroccoli · 24/05/2026 17:16

Yeah the usual power washers and chain saws out. I wouldn’t mind half an hour or so but these tend to go on for hours ruining any chance you get for a quiet hour or 2.

We we had laws like Germany does with no power tools on a Sunday allowed.

Why have you not phoned the police about the drug consumption in front of children?

RaininSummer · 24/05/2026 17:23

Today my party back road neighbours are playing Magic Radio at full blast in the garden. I'm finding it too loud a street away and the adverts are driving me mad

chelseaflowershow · 24/05/2026 18:22

I have a neighbour who decides to jet wash everything in sight. Ten seconds blast, five seconds silence. Over and over all day long. Fucking drives me nuts.

Manzana · 24/05/2026 18:35

3 motorbike riders passed me (car) on a 50 mph road, they were going faster, all in shorts and one with no shirt on, made me and partner shudder thinking what might happen in an accident, hot weather madness.

LaurieFairyCake · 24/05/2026 19:05

Really weirdly we get so much less of that behaviour in London. I’m guessing because it’s much warmer/less wet here generally so everyone’s been outside on pub terraces for weeks now.

FlamingoFloss · 24/05/2026 19:07

I’m at a festival this weekend and everyone has been amazing- really friendly and no bad vibes but I can understand it could be different elsewhere - but to be fair, everyone is two sheets to the wind (where did that saying come from) and it’s perfect

In this thread - people hating on neighbours actually enjoying their gardens and using them for their intended purpose. 😂
I will be the nightmare neighbour playing music and having a cold drink next to my bbq this week, with my family around and ds playing with his cousins.. And loving it. 😂😂
Move to the country, God people are so antisocial nowadays.

I’d like to enjoy my garden for its intended purpose of gardening and relaxing, maybe read a book … who says the intended purpose is to be LOUD?

I can currently hear three different bass of music, a football match on tv, next door’s fucking hot tub, several drunks hollering at each other, kids screaming like they’re being stabbed, several dogs barking, an angle grinder.

Tell me why their life choices are more important than mine?

Please, which is your fabulous police force, that would be interested in this?

notedbiscuits · 24/05/2026 19:29

Oh yes:
. Have disposable BBQs in places that are banned. Banning these is another thread
. bring loads of stuff to eat and drink in parks and don’t take rubbish home
. Play music very loud in their gardens. It’s never decent stuff. It’s RnB, rap, trance and modern acts like Taylor Swift
. One family a few doors away at the back of me plays this awful music til 3am
. Stinking of weed.

Currently at my parents. It’s quiet here as one of their neighbours- the couple died with 5 months of each other and house is empty and for sale. Same goes for a bungalow back of them with a lady. Her husband died around ten years ago. The other neighbours have gone on holiday. The other bungalow to the back of them are away too

i can hear a group of women doing that style of cackling too-loud (not genuine) laughter. It’s so obnoxious and anti-social. They are four houses away.

I always get someone laughing like Salacious Crumb in my railway carriage.

Trains are as bad as sun for attracting antisocial behaviour these days. On the East Coast line to London the whole train reeks on booze by 11am. And if you’re a loan woman travelling from 8pm onward on a Friday or Saturday, watch out for Random Man to make an appearance.

How right was Sartre.

Too late to correct the dreadful mistakes made by my autocorrect. Either that or I just had a brain fart.

Bloodorangekangaroo · 24/05/2026 20:24

Not sure if walking around in a thong bakini and top barely covering your nipples borders on anti social. A couple of drunk dads at the local park today. Mum did seem to present but parenting the kids alone. Tweens smoking weed. It does indeed bring out the people.

HangingOver · 24/05/2026 20:28

Living in a seaside resort the thing I notice more than ever is that when people are on holiday they are overcome with the urge to walk in the road. Not because the pavement is too busy, just because they're feeling so drunk and sunburnt relaxed and carefree that they decide walking on the pavement is just tooooo uptight.

BurnoutBee · 24/05/2026 21:31

It’s the increase in dangerous speeding that’s very predictable

kohlrabislaw · 24/05/2026 21:34

I have suddenly noticed loads of boy racers in noisy cars but is it because my windows are all open?

WhatNextImScared · 24/05/2026 21:36

I find these threads a bit depressing. Is having a bit of a party in your garden (with associated noise) when the sun finally comes out really so antisocial? Maybe poor behaviour in general does increase in the heat but the fun police are out in force!

WhatNextImScared · 24/05/2026 21:38

having said that there is a huge difference between having a knees up in your garden and attacking a seagull 😬
