Pining for discontinued foods! (lighthearted) rant!

About 20 years ago when I was at Uni, I lived opposite a LIDL (back when you had to find a carboard box to carry your stuff around!). They used to do a Ristorante Frutti Di Mare frozen pizza (I think it was 2 in a box) and it still pisses me off that it was discontinued. It wasn't just prawns, it had mussels and other stuff (possibly olives) on it. I still think about the bastard things today and I just thought there must be others who have their long lost foods.

Others for me are Brannigans crisps and more recently, Fries To Go! Oh how I could demolish some Fries To Go right now!

Is chocolate now really so full of palm oil? I don't eat it very often (menopause and trying to stay off refined sugar) but I had an own brand Lidl Easter egg a few weeks ago, and v. gluttonously ate it all on one day. (it wasn't that big an egg) and was sick that night! Really not surprising if I had a stomach full of oil tbh.

Not all of it but most of it seems to be.

I used to love Cadbury's Dairy Milk. I ate it every day, slabs of it.
I'd need to be desperate to eat it now.

I get that I'm older and you lose your sweet tooth a bit but it's not the same taste or texture.

Divine chocolate, Tony's Chocolonely and Montezuma's are supposed to ok.

I loved the bit in dinnerladies where Dolly was talking at cross purposes with everyone about Delia Smith, Delius, Chopin and Les Sylphides and very indignantly said 'Delia Smith does NOT have syphilis, a woman with such immaculate teatowels couldn't possibly!' God, there was nobody to match VW.

tesco value box of chocolates. They were dirty but my God I swear they would make me scream more then any man could 😋

Morrisons burnt me twice, first by taking away their lamb curry, and then discontinuing the American brownie dessert that was mine and my besties favourite! They haven't even substituted with anything remotely as chocolately and tasty, their desserts are all so naff now 😭

Findus or Birdseye Chicken lasagne.It was in a white sauce.

And the green and black mint which used to be fondant and is now just minty flavoured

Oh yes, a travesty. Along the same lines, Lindt/Lindor did a large bar of raspberry dark chocolate that was originally fondant, but have now changed it to crunchy raspberry bits that just get stuck in your teeth.

I came on here to say BK Mushroom Double Swiss. So so good, and I live in hope they will make a comeback one day.

Also Sara Lee Pecan Pie and M&S white chocolate profiteroles and triple chocolate cheesecake (the new incarnation of it is rubbish)

Cadbury Strollers were biscuit, raisin and toffee. I think the other brand you're thinking of is Cadbury Shots, which are primarily an Indian product. But you can buy them on amazon:
