I deleted my previous account (due to poor mental health) but I’m back.

Solidarity with the Jewish community.

Much love to you all.

I will always support you.

if you're serious, just go back and click on yanbu @Davros it'll change your vote.

Not on the app 🤷‍♀️

I think this may be the reason people didn’t like to converse with you and it becomes heated.

By all means show support but learn how to speak with others.

OP, throwing around the term antisemitism at every perceived slight, waters down its meaning and weakens our language, making it harder to call out genuine racism when it actually occurs.

BlakeCarrington · 03/05/2026 21:23

My apologies @Batties, you’re right it’s wasn’t you, my apologies.

It was @ShamrockShenanigans wanging on about what other posters supposedly said in other threads and derailing my expression of solidarity with Jewish communities throughout the UK that annoyed me.

The OP knows this, as she's been repeatedly asked to stop it in the past.

ShamrockShenanigans · 03/05/2026 21:08

Well that and

"I am sorry sorry I went away"

"Here for you all x"

I'm sure the OP's heart is in the right place, but her previous threads/comments did seem to get a lot of Jewish people's backs up.

Not that I think the OP has to explain herself in anyway for taking a break, but she actually did tell us why in her initial post. I think that takes bravery and should be met with support, not hostility.

Well I've reported her personal attack on nomas who isn't even here to defend herself.

So as always, MNHQ will decide.

Look, you’re at it again. Are you trying to make this a TAAT and continue your beef across threads? Certainly looks that way.

Thechateau · 03/05/2026 21:28

I don't know about this history of this poster but absolutely want to express my solidarity with the Jewish community. I also have a Jewish grandparent and am feeling the horror of this very deeply. The silence from most of the UK establishment is shocking to me. As for Zak Polanski, he is a disgraceful anti Semitic grifter. Trevor Phillips handed him his arse on a plate this morning, that needs to be done more regularly

BlakeCarrington · 03/05/2026 21:28

Leave OP alone @ShamrockShenanigans

I'm not talking about that. I'm referring to the OP saying she closed her account last time, due to mental health reasons. Jeez.

No, I simply don't like the OP accusing anyone who disagrees with her of being antisemetic.

I think that's fair enough, although I can see you don't.

This is hardly in the spirit that the op intended for the thread, is it really? Can we go back to showing solidarity with the Jewish community who've endured countless acts of violence and hate crime on our streets.

RochelleMajerKrich · 03/05/2026 19:33

My husband has just ordered two Star of David pins

The time has come to stand up and be counted

Oh wow, I was literally just looking at those on Amazon yesterday! I was thinking of starting a thread to say I'm going to buy one and wear it in solidarity. I'm so glad you thought of it too. Hopefully it's something that could really take off if publicised enough. I made add a Persian lion of judah one as well.

Exactly, please can we do that.

I guess it depends on what she intended if she thinks a personal attack on an absent poster is ok.

Anyway, I've reported them so I'll leave you all to it.

Batties · 03/05/2026 21:08

You really need to stop calling anyone who disagrees with you an antisemite

No I don’t

But thanks

Seconded Flowers

Thirded by me.

I hate anyone to be lumped in with anyone else just because of their religion/colour/sex/country of origin.

cookbookjunkie · 03/05/2026 21:42

I want to set an example but I don’t want to ‘culture appropriate’ which makes me wonder if wearing those pins my husband ordered might be offensive

And that's also exactly why I wanted to start a thread about it, to make sure it would be welcomed and not seen as crass.

Although if it's alright for the white liberal Keffiyah wearers to do it, I don't see why this should be any different.

Batties · 03/05/2026 21:44

We seem to have reached a point where well-meaning people, in trying to support the Jewish community, are sometimes getting it wrong.

When Jewish people point this out, instead of listening and reflecting, some then turn on the very people they claim to be supporting.

FaceIt · 03/05/2026 21:44

Yawn another one 🥱

I stand with Jewish people 100%, whether recent arrivals or families who have been living in the UK for centuries.

I had to point out to a friend that Jewishness is an ethnicity, a culture, and not just a religion. There are Jewish atheists, Jewish Christians, etc. as well as Jews practicing Judaism. There are also converts to Judaism, who follow the religion but are of a different ethnicity. There are Jews of pretty much every skin colour, all over the world.

She had assumed that Jew = Israeli or strong connections to Israel, or Jew = supporter of the Israeli government. Wrong.

I had to point out that there are more Jews living outside of Israel than living inside of it. Jews living outside of Israel mostly have zero influence over what the Israeli government does.

Those inside Israel have a tiny amount of influence through voting, but this still doesn’t tell you what the political views of individuals are. And people are allowed to hold different political views. Also, not all Israelis are Jewish.

I find it dispiriting that otherwise educated people do not understand these things!
