My DD is 4 and we are struggling to conceive #2. So we are looking at least 5.5 years gap now. I'm a bit sad that if we do manage to conceive the gap will be too big for them to have a good relationship 😪

Please could I ask for people's experiences of this gap?

Back in the 1970s I read a psychology article which said that the best age gap you could have between your dks was 5 years as long as it didn't coincide with one starting school. It worked for me,among other considerations,in the 70s/80s maternity pay was 6 weeks paid after the birth, and I had to work several years to acrue more paid leave rather like holiday pay now. Other people's reactions were very unpleasant, even complete strangers commented in parks, soft play areas. I was told by a friend I had 4 generations of children.
