Is it reasonable for a woman of a certain age to have multiple lovers....not to mention the energy.

Like it or not, society still sees women who sleep around in a different light to men who do.
And yes, I would use that phrase for both men and women.

I wonder if the two made redundant are secretly relieved to not be with the massive attention seeker that is Carol Vorderman.

Because I find hypocrisy, sexism and sneering unpleasant, and I like to challenge such attitudes where I find them.

Carol Vordemann's sex life is irrelevant, boring and does me no harm, so I don't care about it. On the other hand, people using phrases like "immoral", "tacky", "slutty", "cheap" etc. to describe a woman who is doing nothing illegal and hurting nobody is misogynistic, and I'm entitled to be critical of misogyny anywhere I find it.

And my advice still stands; just try not caring about other people having sex, unless it directly affects you. It's liberating to realise how little it has to do with you.

I do have some sympathy for her. It's exhausting having to be attractive all the time (I'm shattered 😂), but to also be having to be seen to be sexually active might feel a bit cheap.

She's very intelligent and hardworking, she doesn't need all this.

Perhaps her agent advises her to put these statements out.

I use 'cheap' to describe how she may feel about herself. As pointed out, it's a sympathetic perspective.

I think her behaviour is tacky, and the fact she needs to keep talking about it tackier.
The other words I have used to describe both women AND men, so I'm afraid the misogynistic title doesn't work.

Once more I will say it....when a man in the public eye chooses to keep banging on about how many females he has on the go....I will have the same opinion.
I also know for a fact that some of the women who are cheering Carol on will be pearl clutching and calling him all the bastards under the sun.

I doubt anyone would give it a second thought whether she was 'sexually active' or not if she didn't keep talking about it.

No it should be banned. I don't understand this thread, it's none of my business or anyone else's. I can't relate to to friend's with benefits but I don't care what she does.

2. As the thread is still going, some posters are obviously interested in Carols love life, even if some do think she is fibbing.

As far as I know she is single, her kids are grown up and she has so much money she probably doesn't have to work unless she wants to. She must have a lot of free time and if a very active sex life makes her happy then good for her.

It should be a private thing and not for public consumption. I find it a bit “ohhh look at mee” - attention seeking behaviour. She should focus on showcasing her maths skills instead of down grading herself.

I was brought up Catholic and taught that it's nasty/vile to sleep around....so it depends on perspective and what is drummed in to you.
I now (thankfully) am more liberal as an adult and think it's up to Carol how many people she sleeps with but I still thinks it's icky/cheap to brag about it.
I don't think that viewpoint makes me nasty/vile.
