Vinted - passive aggressive?

NewGoldFox · 17/02/2026 08:07

I sold something on Vinted, it arrived at their collection point on the 13th Feb. They’ve as yet not collected so this morning I sent a message with just a full stop as someone did this to me before and it was actually a helpful reminder. They have replied with “I’m going to collect it today, relax no need to be passive aggressive.”

I feel like their reply is ruder than my full stop 😂

Is a full stop considered communication now?
Good grief people are becoming so lazy and stupid.
It’s even worse than bloody emojis.

redskyAtNigh · 17/02/2026 08:30

Bear in mind that you have opened yourself up to the possibility of negative feedback.

Their reply is fine. Your post is not.

Screamingabdabz · 17/02/2026 08:32

I’m obviously old… what the hell does send a full stop mean? You literally sent a message with a “.”? How odd.

I’d hate it if a vinted seller ‘chased’ me up. Fuck that. You’re not my boss. I know how long I’ve got collect thanks.

Highlighta · 17/02/2026 08:34

As a more mature person, I do not understand why communicating properly is such a problem these days.

A full stop? Instead of "Hi just to let you know your parcel has arrived"
The full sentence maybe took me 3 seconds longer.

I hope this is a wind up.

You don't need to remind them, Vinted already does that. But your full stop was rude and it's absolutely understandable that the buyer interpreted it to be passive aggressive. Why didn't you just take thirty seconds to type a quick message?

I agree 100%. I usually collect parcels the same day but if I can’t, then it’s irritating enough to get reminders from Vinted. If the seller reminded me as well, I find it annoying, but if someone sent me a message with just a full stop, I would leave it until the last possible minute to collect the parcel and would mention their rudeness in my feedback.

DiscoBeat · 17/02/2026 08:43

Just a full stop? Yes that's passive aggressive (and lazy).

I wonder if it’s the text equivalent of the Gen Z stare. I only recently discovered that’s a thing - but had been wondering why so many younger people look blankly and silently at me when I say something.

Too lazy to pick up their parcels promptly apparently 😂

So you admit to it being rude.

Glitterbiscuits · 17/02/2026 08:53

You sent a full stop? Why? Are you attempting Morse Code?

People have a time frame to pick them up. They dont need to collect "promptly". Nothing to do with laziness.

KimuraTan · 17/02/2026 08:55

I‘m often working long days and haven’t had time to collect a parcel. I wouldn’t like to be reminded that I haven’t collected my parcel yet.

The full stop was passive aggressive and rude.
The buyer selected a longer collection time - that should have given you a hint.

They don't have to pick it up promptly, they have to pick it up within the allotted time frame.

"Promptly" is within the time frame allocated based on their delivery method though. Not within an hour/day/some arbitrary time frame that the seller thinks it ought to be picked up.

If a seller doesn't offer InPost, my nearest collection point is not super convenient, but I do go past it a couple of times a week. So I'll pick it up next time I go past rather than making a special trip. However I do accept the item and give feedback as soon as I have checked it over.

If sellers started paying silly buggers like OP I would make a point of not accepting the item or giving feedback and letting them wait until it times out.

thisoldcity · 17/02/2026 08:56

Vinted do enough reminders anyway, don't they?

So you’re assuming laziness instead of the more likely scenario of working people being busy?

Londonrach1 · 17/02/2026 09:03

Very passive aggressive. Why not write a full sentence rather than a a full stop. Very weird way to communicate

Butchyrestingface · 17/02/2026 09:12

LOL, you nutter. 😂.

Best gird your loins for a shitty review and ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ rating now, @NewGoldFox .

3 ⭐️ for a full stop? 😂
I felt like it wasn’t that deep but people are really sensitive to punctuation and positively triggered by emojis 🤷🏻‍♀️

If their chosen delivery method has a 10 day collection window then it's not lazy to have not picked up the parcel after less than half the collection window. It's not even lazy if they pick up on the last day an hour before the deadline. Your parcel is not going to be top priority in their lives and people will pick up when convenient for them, not for you.

AffableApple · 17/02/2026 09:23

Who says it's about the full stop?

It's probably the unnecessary reminder. They know. They've been reminded by Vinted and Inpost. Why are you messaging too?!

They're busy, and will pick it up within the deadline. If they're going to now.

Are you quite new to selling?
