Gym leggings

Nezukokamado · 26/01/2026 21:32

I am new to working out

bought a few leggings from amazon

some are so thin, some just keep rolling down, some are too loose around the groin

Can anyone recommend me some lovely fitting workout leggings or is perfection impossible? Is this just how they are? I don't have to buy from amazon btw just needed some quickly!

Goodmove in M&S are great. I used to use sweaty betty all the time but these are a cheaper alternative

giddyaunt19 · 26/01/2026 21:34

Sweaty Betty 7/8 power gym leggings. They’re expensive but they’re the best I’ve ever worn. They often have sales where they’re half price and if you sign up as an insider you get 50% off in your birthday month.

dementedpixie · 26/01/2026 21:38

I like matalan leggings.

HeidiLite · 26/01/2026 21:42

I really rate crz yoga. Amazon sells them, but their own website is cheaper.

SeeSawSeen · 26/01/2026 21:47

Tesco F&F Active leggings are hard to beat! I have much more expensive, well-known brands (absolutely NOT a brag, just for context😆) but always seem to reach for my Tesco ones, especially for running or exercise classes.

Birdh0use · 26/01/2026 21:56

M&s good move wash v well and you can try them on. There's a string you can tie as well
Decathlon cheaper but spent my entire run hitching them up....

Cismyfatarse · 26/01/2026 22:01

Lulu Lemon. But I buy them from Vinted.

onpills4godsake · 26/01/2026 22:02

Adanola

familyissues12345 · 26/01/2026 22:05

Best ones I’ve got are pineapple, from ASOS, but I don’t think they’ve stocked them for a while. Alternatively I like Matalan and the Oti Mabuse range in Sainsburys

Fidgety31 · 26/01/2026 22:06

Next do some good gym
leggings and cheap too

leftyluceyrightytighty · 26/01/2026 22:10

Interested as I’m on the lookout too but need petite which I can never find or 7/8 which aren’t as common.

HollyBluIvy · 26/01/2026 22:10

All great recommendations on here. Fabletics is also good to throw in the mix.

Eatally · 26/01/2026 22:13

Another vote for Sweaty Betty leggings, although I can only afford them when on sale.

Don’t you find they’ve plummeted in quality over the past few years

PurpleCoo · 26/01/2026 22:18

I love my Lululemon leggings. They have different ones for Pilates/yoga or for running/work outs. I find them really flattering as well.

@leftyluceyrightytighty Lululemon would be good for you as well, they come in a lot of different lengths. I am 5'4 and the ones they say are cropped fit me as 7/8s

They are a bit more expensive but you can get good prices at the outlet stores if there is one near you. Lots on vinted as well.

I really like the swiftly tech tops as well.

BowlyLarr · 26/01/2026 22:21

I have a sweaty betty pair and a Tesco pair and frankly there’s not much difference. The SB ones are maybe a tiny bit better on the holding-in-the-flab front.

twohotwaterbottles · 26/01/2026 22:21

Sweaty betty power leggings are fab. They're not see through. They don't budge. I can run, squat, work out and they don't shift. If you're on Facebook there's a second hand selling site. They're mostly like new anyway. Its called Sweaty Betty and Lulemon used and washed

PurpleCoo · 26/01/2026 22:23

Should have said, I do body pump, so lots and lots of squats, lunges, in addition to the weights but. Lots of moving around. I also do Pilates so again lots of movement on different positions and my Lululemon leggings always stay put. No rolling at all and they keep their shape. Pants don't show through when squatting either

OrrAppleCheeks · 26/01/2026 22:23

I wear the Asda 7/8 leggings with a side pocket on each leg. £12.50 and wash well, decent thickness, no horrible graphics, and they stay up. I’m 5’1” and they’re perfect for a short-arse

Marble10 · 26/01/2026 22:24

I quite like ASOS 4505 icon bum sculpt leggings or the H&M range. If I’m feeling like a splurge - Adanola ultimate leggings are nice.

Ihatemondays1962 · 26/01/2026 22:26

Another vote for the sweaty betty power leggings.

HollaHolla · 26/01/2026 22:33

I do a lot of Pilates, and find the Sweaty Betty ones to be the best. Pricier, but definitely very stretchy, opaque, and last. They also stay put - and suck you in!
I usually get mine in the sale (less popular colours and patterns have the best discount), or on Vinted (just got some for £15, almost new.)
I'd previously bought all sorts of cheaper ones, but these are definitely the best in my experience. They wash super well too!

Some of oldest and most Reliable gym leggings are from Tesco and Sainsburys.

This! I have lululemons which are really nice for looking a bit smarter but I’ve never found better than Asda for the gym and price. Cheap to have several pairs, quick to wash and dry. I’m 5’10 so quite a bit taller than 5’1 but can say they fit me perfect too. I’ve been using them for 10 years.

M&S Good Move do 7/8
