Gym leggings

Nezukokamado · 26/01/2026 21:32

I am new to working out

bought a few leggings from amazon

some are so thin, some just keep rolling down, some are too loose around the groin

Can anyone recommend me some lovely fitting workout leggings or is perfection impossible? Is this just how they are? I don't have to buy from amazon btw just needed some quickly!

My faves are Tesco F&F for the lycra style. They fit me well, wash well and feel supportive. Decathlon's cotton-style ones are good. I do like M&S Goodmove but find they feel a bit 'flimsy' on. Matalan's lycra style leggings were good but this season's seem a bit thin and odd fitting.

MrsKateColumbo · 26/01/2026 22:44

Lululemon are 100% the best. Never fall down.

I got some SB power leggings and gave them away, they were awful, fell straight down

JerryTubs · 26/01/2026 22:44

I like Gymshark

notnorman · 26/01/2026 22:48

Lululemon are brilliant. I bought some from Vinted and I live in them now

Nomotivationanymore50 · 26/01/2026 22:48

Another vote for sweaty Betty here...the power ones do not budge. I've some that are at least five years old and still as good as new. I get mine from vinted now tho for around £15 a pair. Halara are also pretty good and have offers on all the time.

vapemam · 26/01/2026 22:48

Lululemon fast and free and my absolute faves for running. I save them for running but they are mega comfy and stay up so could be worn whenever, they are quite thin but I like that weightlessness and they’re still pretty flattering, somehow. My faves for leisure are Adanola, I’ve had so much wear out of them and they’re still perfect - hold you in, stay up, really comfy.

Don’t you find they’ve plummeted in quality over the past few years

Not particularly. The 7/8 length is perfect since I’m a short arse

Nezukokamado · 27/01/2026 09:17

Thanks for all the recommendations! I'm going to look on vinted for some Lulu and sweaty betty

I'd say it depends on the type of exercise you're doing. For running I love Nike "one" - high waisted so won't budge, mid thickness material, cleverly designed pockets. These are pretty versatile tbh, use them for weights also.

For yoga/low resistance Lulu lemon align but these aren't particularly wicking. They're super soft and comfy though.

The Oti Mabuse range at Sainsbury's is a good budget option but investing in exercise clothes that work for you is always worth it imo. All the more expensive brands mentioned on this thread are really easy to find on vinted.

Good luck with your exercise journey!

I found M&S Good Move absolutely terrible.

I always go for Sweaty Betty Power but buy older patterns on Vinted because the quality of the more recent ones is awful.

A lady at my gym wears CRZ and they look great.

Edited to add: They look great as in they don't look like they curl at the waist or go flabby at the knees. Not that she looks great in them. I mean, she does but I'm not a pervert 😂

unsync · 27/01/2026 09:40

Sweaty Betty Power. They stick like glue and squat proof too. Wait for the sales or ebay/vinted.

Abd80 · 27/01/2026 09:42

Sweaty betty are the best ever.
Always stay up. Never see through. Never wrinkly or baggy. very supportive.

Fopar · 27/01/2026 09:48

Llama leggings are very comfortable - and they have pockets!

HighHeelsHurt · 27/01/2026 09:55

I do CrossFit, running and yoga and was a very dedicated Sweaty Betty fan, but the quality is just not what it used to be. I have switched to LNDR (unfortunately the sale has just ended) and I can’t recommend them highly enough. There is no comparison, customer service is amazing and they are built to last. Can be picked up on Vinted too. I’m a large size 10 to a 12 and M are the perfect fit. 7/8 length if you are under 5 foot 5. That would be my recommendation

HeidiLite · 27/01/2026 10:05

I have plenty of Lulus as well and I'm pretty sure they are made by the same manufacturer as CRZ yoga ones, some models are absolutely identical

Grapewrath · 27/01/2026 10:17

I wear gym shark, H&M and Tesco. Have a few from women’s best too and Adanola. I wear a small in all but sometimes medium in Gymshark. They’re all similar tbh

CombatBarbie · 27/01/2026 10:20

If you are new then I wouldnt be spending loads. I rate the tesco ones tbh and primark, both thick and non see through. I have a few pairs due to working outside with dogs.

If you want to splash, I love my under armour ones!

I disagree with this.

When I first started working out, I found that having very good quality gym clothes which I felt great in, and which I'd spent quite a bit of money on was actually a really strong motivator for me to get to the gym and keep going back.

I don't think I'd have felt quite the same slopping around in Primark leggings.

That might be just me though

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 27/01/2026 10:52

I wear Nike Pro running , every other pair of leggings I've had have always rolled down which midway through a boxing class or whilst on a treadmill isn't a good thing. Think it's because they have a separate elastic waistband l.

They're not see through, they keep their shape, they're flattering.

No i'm with you. I want something that I know is quality and I feel good in, it will definitely be a good motivator

Sweaty Betty 7/8 power gym leggings. They’re expensive but they’re the best I’ve ever worn. They often have sales where they’re half price and if you sign up as an insider you get 50% off in your birthday month.

These. Buy on Vinted!

I agree too! I bought some really nice Puma tops when I started running last year. Still going 8 months later.

Absolutely.

Focusispower · 27/01/2026 12:10

I’m considering LNDR. Super expensive but good sales. Would love to hear if anyone has tried them?

I love my Uniqlo leggings - soft and don’t fall down. I’m less keen on my Sweaty Betty ones tbh. They do fall down a little and I like super high waisted as a personal preference.

I would HIGHLY recommend Born Nouli - excellent leggings. I have had pairs I’ve worn for years that look and feel perfect. Lovely prints etc these are without a doubt the best I’ve ever had and I defected from Lululemon to them!
