Make me feel better.

I took a photo to upload on an app as needed it for an agency (extra job) . Luckily I noticed the tag at the front as had my jumper on inside out 🤣🙈 It's health care. They'd be signing me up for a carer!

Phoned a supermarket customer service line, because my online order hadn't arrived.
It was due the next morning 🫠

@Navybluecoat congratulations on your new gc; and please don't feel bad about trying to lose your ds! I regularly walked home having left dd1 in her pram outside the shop.... and ds2 inside the shop (not home, just out of the shop in the shopping centre... 😊)

Loving this thread, it's helping me realise I'm not alone (definitely told someone I'd have to stop the call as I'd left my phone somewhere and I had to go and find it 😅)

Years ago,id just given birth to ds2

In my defence I had postnatal depression, zero support and hadnt even known I was pregnant until the Monday before giving birth on the Saturday

The lack of sleep didnt help-he just didnt see the need to sleep and would just scream all day (unless I was holding him or he was in his pram being pushed)

By the time the poor mite hit 6 weeks old,Id left him at the shop (3 times),the bus stop (twice) at home,at my parents,at nursery (when I dropped off his siblings) in my mothers car,and at the park (twice)

It was like id forgotten id just had a baby

Im amazed I didnt have ss/police involved

I laugh (sort of) now but at the time I was a danger to myself and it was a very dark time

Stress and sleep deprivation, I'm glad you were both ok.

One of the UK's prime ministers left his baby in a pub, even tho he had a group of people around him pretty much doing his bidding.

I have been 24hrs early for an antenatal appt and a flight.
The former was odd - receptionist only told me when, after waiting 1/2hr, I asked how long I might need to wait.

Latter caused massive problems - I’d told person collecting me on other side of Atlantic, and by the time I realised, he was asleep or on his way or something (pre-mobiles).

Left my passport in the airport loo (baggage claim). Only realised day after.
Left my phone in airport loo (departure lounge).

rainbowunicorn22 · 27/01/2026 16:38

my poor dad once put his vests in the fridge and threw the bottle of milk in the washing machine!

IamEarthymama · 27/01/2026 16:43

My DD was picking me up on Sunday morning.
i walked out of the house, clocked pretty blonde woman in cream car over the road, waved to her and walked off up the street!

She turned around and stopped beside me, rolled down the window and just looked at me.😳
I thought she was my neighbour’s mother at first glance.
I’m seeing my GP on Thursday so I might mention it..,
😉☺️😂

Happily went off to work with Mascara on only one of my eyes. For the record, I am a red head with almost white eyelashes - it was very clockwork orange!!

During a game of scrabble, I picked up a handful of crisps and put them in my mouth. They weren't crisps they were scrabble tiles.

Electricsausages · 27/01/2026 17:03

Quite often I find myself trying to lock or unlock the car with the garage door control

NotVWoolf · 27/01/2026 17:08

My husband was picking me up in his car and didn’t want to wait/pay for parking so I saw the cream mini, jumped in and had fastened the seatbelt before I noticed the very surprised driver, who wasn’t my husband!

Years ago took the cat to the vet. Vet asks me what’s up with her? Nothing wrong with her I say, just here to have her cast off of her leg. Vet looks at me, I look at the cat. No cast, I’ve brought the wrong bloody cat with me.

Not me, DH. He put two hard boiled eggs in the microwave because he thought they needed more cooking. He booked a hotel at Heathrow, we were flying from Gatwick. He washed the washing machine gel tablets because he thought they were a bit sticky. Bless him, he died very unexpectedly last year. I miss him so much. He was a highly gifted intelligent man, but daft with it.

Flicitytricity · 27/01/2026 17:42

I also regularly lose my temper when Alexa wont ' stop', ending up yelling, ' FFS Alexa STOP'
Then realizing it's actually the tv that's still playing.....

I was meeting a friend for lunch, we met through a mutual friend and realised we worked v close so arranged a lunch date. She was to walk past my work place and we'd walk to a cafe 5 mins away. It was torrential rain so she messaged to say she'd drive, be outside and she would pull up in a silver hatchback. Along comes silver hatchback so I ran and hopped in chatting about the weather while fixing my seat belt. A poor random young fella was sitting looking startled in the driver seat.

Needed to take my car for its MOT. Set off walking to the garage (not far for my house) got half way down the road and thought “Shit, I need to be in the car for this!”

This is now one of my favourite posts ever!

Work in the emergency services, went to work, logged into computer, set my desk up etc, checked my schedule for the day, wasn’t even meant to be fecking working that day ffs!!! 🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️ 🙈

I've turned up at when I'm not supposed to be there!

My daft thing...
Marched up to the car hire desk at the Spanis airport yesterday, all excited to pick up the car for my holiday only to find that Ive left my driving licence at home 🤦‍♂️

TwentyFourHoursToTulsa · 27/01/2026 18:15

A few years back I got DD up as usual to get ready for school. Breakfast eaten, uniform on, all going well and on time, off we go. Until I put the radio on in the car and realised it was a Bank Holiday Monday 😬

mamaduckbone · 27/01/2026 18:19

I accidentally used my work purchase card to buy my lunch from M&S yesterday morning (strictly only to be used for work and with a previously agreed purchase order) I had to confess today…

Barleybumpsadaisy · 27/01/2026 18:43

My son ordered four mains in Barcelona. He thought it was tapas. His boss raised an eyebrow when he submitted his expenses.

snowdaze76 · 27/01/2026 18:44

i have a few:-

on my way to work and had to drop off ds1 at his dads. Reached work and a voice from the back said 'what about me?

Drove ds1 to his dad's one day before work, pulled up on the sweeping driveway, stopped outside the kitchen, got out of the car, to see 2 strangers staring at me....... exdp had moved home a year earlier.

got home from work and looked in the mirror to see myself wearing glasses.... and a pair on top of my head.

EXMIL came to pick up DS1, so I asked for a lift as my car had to go in for its MOT. Jumped in the car, arrived at the garage, when I realised that I should have dropped my car off and had a lift home, not a lift there.
