Make me feel better.

I took a photo to upload on an app as needed it for an agency (extra job) . Luckily I noticed the tag at the front as had my jumper on inside out 🤣🙈 It's health care. They'd be signing me up for a carer!

I once put diesel in a petrol car. It was only a few litres before I realised. Who the fuck goes that? It's normally the other way round

It's less common to put diesel in a petrol car because the diesel nozzle is larger so it shouldn't fit.

Punched myself in the face in the night, half asleep, when my hand slipped whilst pulling up the bedcovers.
Jabbed myself hard in the nipple when my hand slipped whilst I was getting dressed.

Might give up on any complex tasks for the day.

Go back to bed (carefully). It's the only way!

I went for a walk with 2 friends.
Called in to the pub for a couple of beers at the end of the walk, before catching the bus home.
Waiting at the bus stop one pal decided he needed chips so we all had them.
Then we had no money for the bus and had to phone a friend to come and get us.
We are all in our 50s...... and we spent our bus fare on chips.

I hadn’t see the cat all day and was going out till late, I hadn’t fed him since the afternoon before so I wanted to feed him and get him in for the night.

I went out looking for him and found him, he’d wandered much further than usual so I picked him up and brought him home and fed him in the kitchen and went straight out.

I had a few drinks when I was out and was a bit tipsy, I got home and fed the cat again and left him in the kitchen eating then got into bed where the cat was fast asleep.

I was just falling asleep when I sat up confused as to how the cat was asleep on the bed when I’d left him eating in the kitchen!
I woke DP who had got home after I’d gone out then gone to bed, he said he’d fed the cat that morning and saw him go under the bed so I’d obviously gone out whilst he was inside asleep to look for him and catnapped someone else’s pet.

We later found out it was the neighbours son’s cat who was frantic for his furry friend.
In my defence both cars are black and both called Salem so neighbours cat answered when I called him. 😂

Brilliant! 😂🥰

Great thread OP.
It's making me smile.
I'm daft anyway, but years ago, one cold winter night I put my hot water bottle on the doorstep outside, and the milk bottle in bed.
Boy did I get a shock when I got into bed.
My husband said it was like watching Tom and Jerry 🤣

snowdaze76 · 01/02/2026 18:27

have another:-

my car was in for its MOT so I borrowed ds's. At lunch ran out to the car which was parked on a main road, to get an item out of the front. Was searching the front and couldn't find it, so looked in the back. Was really puzzled that there was a baby seat- ds does not have a baby. Looked out of the back window and ds's car was parked behind... (in my defence- who leaves their car unlocked??!!)

Years ago took the cat to the vet. Vet asks me what’s up with her? Nothing wrong with her I say, just here to have her cast off of her leg. Vet looks at me, I look at the cat. No cast, I’ve brought the wrong bloody cat with me.

😂😂😂

My mum did that - her last car was diesel and she spent the whole drive to the petrol station reminding herself. Still put the wrong fuel in and had to get one of those companies to come and flush out the system.

ConnieHeart · 06/02/2026 14:26

Ok this is really embarrassing. I had a hair appointment yesterday and as I fancied a walk i parked a fair distance from the salon in a side road. It was 4pm so still light. 90 mins later I came out, it was dark, I walked back....and spent half an hour trying to find my car. In the end I was going round in circles, getting tired, so I had to ring OH to come & get me! We also spent about half an hour driving round trying to find it. I was happy to walk back up this morning thinking it would be easier to find it in daylight. But OH was determined to find it. We found it in the end. While I was waiting for OH a car pulled up, the same make & colour as my OH's & the 2 same first letters of the number plate (hard to see the rest in the rain & dark), I waved at the driver & nearly climbed in when the car then pulled in to a driveway. I then noticed the rest of the number plate was different to ours.

So there I give you 2 dumb stories for the price of 1! 🤣

This happened years ago to my SENCO colleague.
She went to a meeting with Social Worker and others re child protection issue.
Finished meeting and went to the loo. Looked in the mirror to see a clean Tena lady pad stuck to the underside of her upper arm.
No one mentioned it during the meeting and she never knew if others had noticed it.

Curlygirl06 · 07/02/2026 12:39

Not me but mil, years ago. She'd just passed her driving test and my dh was a baby. She drove to the shop, left the car and sleeping baby outside, got her shopping and came outside. The bus was just pulling up, she jumped on and went home (what she has been doing for years as she couldn't drive)
She was home cooking dinner when fil came home, asked where's the car and baby, she'd completely forgotten both! Fil had to phone a relative who lived round the corner from the shop to get round there quick, make sure both car and baby were still there, whilst fil jumped on the bus to go and get them. Baby slept through it all!

Arraminta · 07/02/2026 12:53

Had an appointment at the hotel spa recently. Asked to use the loo before it started, so therapist escorted me to the ladies and explained how to find my way back. No problem. Except when I came out, all the corridors looked identical, all the doors looked the same and it wasn't helped by the very subdued 'mood lighting'.

Ended up completely lost and disorientated, standing in the gym, watching burly men working out. At this point, the concerned therapist rang my mobile and came to collect me. She was very sweet but spoke slowly and reassuringly to me through out the appointment and clearly thought I was cognitively impaired.

About 20 years ago,I nipped outside my front door to check something

The kids started fighting the second I got outside so I turned to run back in and break it up

I managed to trip over the front door mat and broke two toes

A year to the day later,i answered the front door ro my friend and they started belting each other so I turned to go back in and break that fight up and tripped over the same mat and broke the same two toes

A&e kept asking if 'everything was ok at home'

Just today I went to mop up a spillage and put a wet floor sign out at work

30 seconds later,I tripped over the sign

About 20 minutes after that,I walked into a colleague and bounced off a wall trying to move away from him

I shouldn't be allowed out by myself

Yep, he's sat next to me on the settee, getting ready to cook dinner! Good job they found him, I'd have had to cook my dinner myself otherwise. His mum has done many things like that, love her.

Driving along, looking for a specific house that I hadn't been to before. I spotted the house on the other side of the road so I needed to turn round. I was going to do a 3 point turn, but there were a couple of cars behind me, so rather than inconvenience the drivers I decided, in my wisdom, to turn left into the next road, so the drivers behind could carry on along the main road and I would do my 3 point turn in the side road, out of the way.

The car immediately behind me also turned left into the side road behind me so I still didn't want to stop and do a 3 point turn . "Bugger" I thought, but saw another side road coming up on the left, so I turned into that.

Well, guess what? So did the car behind me. I realised this was a dead end road, so I drove to the end, hoping the car behind me would pull into one of the driveways I was passing. But no, it didn't.

I ended up in a cul-de-sac, still with the car behind me and I basically ended up doing my 3 point turn across what turned out to be their driveway, while they sat there looking at me.
