Make me feel better.

I took a photo to upload on an app as needed it for an agency (extra job) . Luckily I noticed the tag at the front as had my jumper on inside out 🤣🙈 It's health care. They'd be signing me up for a carer!

Well I think I’ve put my glasses somewhere daft cos I can’t find them in the usual places…..

Sweetpea1532 · 26/01/2026 20:21

@LittleMissyHappyMe if you're like me, try the top of your head for your glasses😂

Was coming down with flu a few years ago, just starting to really feel grotty. Got home from work and couldn’t understand why my front door wouldn’t open. I was waving my work door pass at it and expecting the door to open.

I have done this many many times, I have also used on buses instead of my bus pass

Flicitytricity · 26/01/2026 20:33

I spent twenty minutes searching for my phone- not unusual for me to 'lose' it, but not like this!
I searched house, car, every coat and jacket,
Turned out hand bags I hadn't used in weeks.
I was on the verge of tears and had used up every swear word I could think of several times, when my phone rang.
I had been carrying it around the whole time😵‍💫
Carefully putting it down to search coat pockets etc, then casually picking it up and resuming my search for it.......
FFS.

Years ago,id just given birth to ds2

In my defence I had postnatal depression, zero support and hadnt even known I was pregnant until the Monday before giving birth on the Saturday

The lack of sleep didnt help-he just didnt see the need to sleep and would just scream all day (unless I was holding him or he was in his pram being pushed)

By the time the poor mite hit 6 weeks old,Id left him at the shop (3 times),the bus stop (twice) at home,at my parents,at nursery (when I dropped off his siblings) in my mothers car,and at the park (twice)

It was like id forgotten id just had a baby

Im amazed I didnt have ss/police involved

I laugh (sort of) now but at the time I was a danger to myself and it was a very dark time

I picked up a framed photo in my Mum’s house, put my fingers on the frame and moved them apart to try to zoom in on it.

I've done that with a newspaper.

Genuine question, if you don't mind answering, and no judgement intended - I've just always been curious/baffled - how did you not know you were pregnant? Couldn't you feel the baby moving and all the rest?

No,my periods where 'normal' (for me anyway!) I didnt put any weight on,I did feel very sick really early on for about an hour but thought I had a bug and I had nothing to make me feel I could be pregnant

I'd been on rollercoasters the month before! (I wouldn't have gone near them if id had the smallest thought I could have been pregnant)

I did however have the world's worst back pain which spread to my pelvis-i couldn't stand up or walk properly-i sort of twisted myself just to stand up and bent double to walk

So my mother dragged me to the doctors to get to the bottom of it,he did tests and they came back positive

I have birth 6 days later-i hadn't felt him move (i never did even when id found out-i had to go to the hospital everyday to go on the heart monitor to check he was ok)no bump,no sickness (im known for my morning sickness),no swollen boobs-nothing-I was a size 14 all the way through-i wore my normal clothes all the way through until I gave birth

I honestly didnt have a clue-the doctor did say it happens to about 1 in every 1500 ish women

He was my 3rd baby so I had been through pregnancy before and really took the brunt of each one (name a pregnancy symptom and id been through it) but oddly nothing with him

He's 25 now and just made me a granny

Went into Boots, picked up a basket but then decided not to buy anything. Left store and walked a good five minutes down the road before realising I was still carrying the boots shopping basket.

I’ve done this with a boots basket, I did buy something but I took the basket to my car and nearly took it homw

I once got locked out of my house. I'd come home from work and I was on the phone to my gran at the same time. Try as I might I couldn't get the key to turn in the lock. After about 15 minutes of jiggling and pushing and pulling I told my gran I'd have to go as I needed to get in touch with someone with a spare key. DH was at work and unreachable so I left him a message. I couldn't get through to FIL and MIL was also at work with her phone turned off.

I sat myself down on the doorstep, wrapped my scarf round my shoulders and waited. About half an hour later DH rang to say he was on his way home, he'd come and let me in then he'd go get a new door lock/handle/whatever. It wasn't the first time it had played up.

By the time he rolled up, I'd been sitting on the step for over an hour, freezing my tits off, my vape had died and I had no cash on me and I was desperate for a wee.

DH asked for my key to try it whilst I'm giving him a lecture about I'm not stupid, I know how to open a door and it's definitely not working, it's finally given up the goose and we can't just wiggle our way out of it - pun intended. However, I took off my lanyard and handed him the keys and he just started laughing. By this time I'm truly fucked off, what could possibly be funny?! He was laughing so much he couldn't speak, he just bent down and went into my bag and found my actual house keys. I'd been trying to get into our house with my work keys! Never have I ever felt a bigger tit!!

LushLemonTart · 26/01/2026 23:58

@Navybluecoat that happened to someone I know. They were abroad on a girls holiday!

Needed to take my car for its MOT. Set off walking to the garage (not far for my house) got half way down the road and thought “Shit, I need to be in the car for this!”

Looks like you can do with a service too 🤣🤣

foxlover47 · 27/01/2026 00:06

Ordered one of them crimpet things as I enjoy a wrap every now and then
put the fillings in , sealed it together and put the whole thing in the air fryer before realising
you're meant to take the now sealed wrap out and put in the air fryer not the plastic bit 🙈

OneLimeDuck · 27/01/2026 00:08

Not recent but undoubtedly daft, might even say stupid.
In 2002 I wentbto stay with my parents for Easter. Whilst there I developed a cold that turned quite nasty eventually leading to me not being able to keep anything down, even water. Saw their GP, given anti-emetic tablets, all okay afterwards. The GP surgery gave me a letter to hand to my GP detailing the consultation.
On my return home I duly handed the letter to my GP surgery.
A couple of days later I get a call from a confused GP receptionist wondering why I had handed them a bill for new bedroom carpet in my house.
Yes I had handed in the wrong envelope. To this day I still feel embarrassed if I have to visit the surgery.

This was a long time ago. It was dog walk time. Put my shoes and coat on, put keys and poo bags in my pocket and set off. Halfway down the road I realised something was wrong - I had forgotten DDog.

Asked a member of staff in the supermarket for help because my Lidl card wouldn’t scan. He told me we’re in Aldi. 🙈

Lol...I bought a iced coffee from b&m and then walked into Aldi to pick a few things....I then scanned the coffee and it obviously wouldn't scan...I called someone over...she tried too, and said that's bizarre...then she looked at the cup and said we don't sell these....that's when it hit me and I burst out laughing...said sorry and made her laugh too.

Fell down the stairs. Again. Second time in three weeks.

When I was checked in the hospital for various broken bits, they asked what had happened to my foot as it is swollen and has a fading bruise. 'Fell down the stairs' I said!

Oh dear hope you recover quickly ❤️ be careful walking down the stairs..

craycray431 · 27/01/2026 00:26
  • Turned up a week (yes a week) early to a job interview
  • Queued up at the self service aisle at the supermarket - and for some reason kept walking! was near the exit door when one of the ladies came over and said 'You realise you haven't paid?!' was so embarrassed, but in my defence I was in the middle of moving house and was very stressed
  • (Same supermarket) - got given a gift card, tried to swipe it when I was paying and it wouldn't work. Nice man pointed out card voucher was for another supermarket chain,
  • Drove a friend home after a night out. Got home and she fb messaged me saying she thought she'd accidently dropped her phone in my car. Went to the car and couldn't see it anywhere. My phone then pinged with a text from the friend. 'Oh no!' I thought 'I'll have have to tell her I can't find her phone!' (Yes - it took a few seconds to realise that one!)
Safxxx · 27/01/2026 00:53

My friends mum regularly shops at Sainsbury's, she went to top up a few bits one being loose potatoes...as she put her shopping away, the cashier was waiting for payment....my friends mum then reached over to pay...the cashier just looked at her strangely...her mum looked back at her in frustration to take the payment. ...good few more seconds passed and a man behind her waiting asked if she was ok? Her mum said yes why? He said you need to pay, she said I am but she's not taking my money, he laughed and pointed out that she's got a potato in her hand not money .... needless to say she was so embarrassed but others just laughed it off...I've since called her Mrs.potato head

Devilsmommy · 27/01/2026 00:59

Loving all these. Mine is being on the phone to DH and then all of a sudden panicking because I can't find my phone🫣 the phone that I'm speaking on. The joke is that I've done it more than once😳

That's crazy! Thank you for answering. You must have been beyond shocked to find out at such a late stage.

Congratulations on becoming a granny! 💐
