I think he has finally lost any marbles he had in his tiny little brain!

We need to up our defence spending, rejoin the EU and create a European army.

Brexit was a huge mistake.

It’s the only way. As Carney said earlier, the old ways are no more.

I never wanted to leave the EU - but not sure having done so any government could get us back in and current one is looking at closer ties anyway.

I do agree defence spending needs to go up - but we have relatively high taxes smaller tax base to tax and are in considerable debt - and cutting other areas not been going well and tends to be unpopular with public.

Also not sure about EU army TBH - working together more yes - longer term maybe.

I do agree it's a new world order we are seeing emerge and we and other countries will have to adapt.

He is like those old men who watch telly and shout at the screen their ideas of putting the world to rights
Except people have given him the power to make all his ill thought out ideas come to reality

Way back when he first ran for President we likened it to those boozy New Years Eves when, under the influence, decided we would all go to Glastonbury or climb Kilimanjaro, leaving walking frames etc at the bottom. We, fortunately, sobered up by the next couple of days.

NotMeAtAll · 21/01/2026 16:36

At least that "Leader of the Free World" bollocks is gone. It always made my skin crawl. I live in the free world, and the American president has never been my "leader".

After yesterday I bet it wasn’t Somalia. Also why does he pronounce Somalia / Somalians the way he does !

It was NATO. As if NATO were a person

Come on guys see sense. If it wasn’t for the US we’d all be speaking German and a little bit of Japanese now

If it wasn't for the Red Army and the Commonwealth nations.....fixed it for ya

Did he just call Greenland Iceland twice?! At least know the name of the country you are threatening to invade

I think he probably just accidentally let it slip he’s thinking of extending his imaginary US empire to Iceland after he’s got himself Greenland.
It’s insane….!

NotMeAtAll · 21/01/2026 16:40

"The Somalis had a higher IQ than we thought". That's sounds like Nazism. He's a deranged cunt.

Edit: I changed to Somalis, but I think he called them Somalians.

Biden got publically confused a few times and should have stepped down long before he did.

He had a good run but was clearly unwell and not in a place to do four more years - and people round him should have been clear about that with him and his party should have planned for it.

Trump never made sense in speaches even in the run up to the first term - seen comedians make fun of transcrpits of some of those speaches they make no kind of sense and ramble - it's just got worse and worse.

I was shocked he got in first time and astounded he managed it a second - though think he was lucky with his apponents. It beggers belief they couldn't find better candiates in a country that size.

But where are congress and the senate the courts - there are supposedly check and balances in the US system where are they and why aren't they working - US system put him in this poistion of power and left him unchecked - all the rest of the world can do is react accordingly to that.

I agree with all you say. No way should Biden have run a second time, it was a disaster waiting to happen.

However, Trump is just beyond Biden in intelligence, morals, knowledge and so much more.

I've followed US politics for a long time, and I get sick of hearing about the Constitution/checks/balances. With someone like Trump they just ride roughshod over all of that. It's so depressing.

The thing about speaking German/Japanese is a direct quote from Trump's speech today, not the poster's personal opinion

America. You are a laughing stock.

This guy is your country's most prominent 'statesman'. He represents you on the world stage.

Have a fucking word with yourselves!

I wouldn’t put it past him to nick both honestly.

I highly recommend this page on Facebook. Author writes like a genius.

https://www.facebook.com/IFLOZ

Yes. I know the title of the pages bears no relation to the content Grin but have a look.

That is bloody brilliant. Why is THIS not the front-page headline in The Guardian? We're just sitting watching this shit happen ...

"Britain Crawls Back to China While America Burns Bridges Like It's a National Fucking Sport"

I think he probably just accidentally let it slip he’s thinking of extending his imaginary US empire to Iceland after he’s got himself Greenland.
It’s insane….!

The recently appointed US ambassador to Iceland said that it will become the 52nd state and that he will be governor. I don't know if it was a joke, but it was highly inappropriate conduct for an ambassador.

I wonder if Badenoch is regretting her whole hearted support for Trump yesterday?

Hmm. Farage is still betting the house on MAGA. Saying the world will be safer when the USA owns Greenland. This might play well with the hard core Reform supporters. But I doubt it will be a hit with the wider electorate? It's hard to say whether Nigel - A. Really believes this . B. Is losing his touch. C. Couldn't give a monkey's and is happy to remain in opposition anyway.

Shmoigel · 21/01/2026 16:52

What’s quite insane is I asked a room with 30 young teens yesterday if they knew our prime minister’s name. Only one did! They all knew the president of the USA!

Could you imagine if any politicians in this country said just one of the offensive things he has just said? The press would be all over it and they’d inevitably be forced to resign. Does that not happen in America??

Posters perhaps aren't aware of the depth of ignorance in the US. In general, people seem to have no knowledge at all about other countries.

I used to visit the US a lot, before Trump (I haven't been since he was elected), and I've been asked
(1) Is London near England? (or maybe it was the other way round, is England near London)
(2) Is Canada east of the US?

I have relatives in the US, and they are appalled by Trump.

Middlemarch123 · 21/01/2026 16:54

One of the best quotes I read was when the orange one first got elected. It was Stephen King on twitter, paraphrasing, “This is scarier than anything I’ve ever written.” Yep.

USA contributes almost 29% to the world GDP at 30 trillion. To put that into perspective, Germany is third with 5 trillion.

Say what you want about Trump but the economy has continued to dramatically improve under him. USA is the powerhouse of the world and we need them a lot more then they need us.

Middlemarch123 · 21/01/2026 16:59

The maddest thing is, they didn’t learn the first time! They voted him in again. Whoever said “America got the president they deserved “ is spot on. Unfortunately, we’re all part of the fallout.

BreakingBroken · 21/01/2026 17:00

@NotMeAtAll the reply from Greenland on that was rather cute; our internet is prone to going down for long periods and it’s very unfortunate when power shortages lead to water pipes freezing and bursting.
Hinting his stay will be made rather miserable.

realityslapsyou · 21/01/2026 17:02

his proposed “Golden Dome” defence system is “by its very nature, going to be defending Canada.”
“Canada gets a lot of freebies from us, by the way, they should be grateful also, but they’re not,” he said. “I watched your (prime) minister yesterday, he wasn’t so grateful.”

“They should be grateful to us, Canada,” he added. “Canada lives because of the United States. Remember that, Mark, the next time you make your statements.”

Can someone please tell me just who the US has been protecting Canada from?

Because I'm not aware that Canada has many/any enemies except the US (trump).

AFAIK only the US has invaded Canada, twice (1775, 1812), and now has threatened to take it (51st).

Why the fuck would Canada want to be under a Golden Dome with its abuser?
