I think he has finally lost any marbles he had in his tiny little brain!

A great sense of humour?

Gets everyone talking?

He's the President of the United States of America, not the guy they employed to get the audience riled up before Jeremy Kyle was recorded.

The man is - and I can't stress this enough - an absolute fucking idiot. He has always been a colossal twat. A petty, narcissistic, misogynistic bully. And now he's all that with very obvious cognitive decline on top. That's not 'nonsense'. That's fucking petrifying.

You forgot 'racist.' His comments about Somalians were jaw-dropping. Just casually disgustingly racist, in front of world leaders. Jesus wept.

Well, I find him very original and entertaining!!
He did call Greenland - Iceland though - but it's an easy slip and he had had a long flight!

Are you serious? He's terrifying.

Cognitively he appears to be very challenged, but that might be just the manifestation of his ego/narcissism. Physically he looks pretty robust to me for a nearly 80 yr old. There's no proof that I've seen of any major physical issues. Yes I know he has bruises, but so have I from aspirin. He can walk, and by heck can he talk, not making much sense mind, but he has the energy to drone on for over an hour non stop.

Not buying his imminent demise, unless it's by assassination.

The energy comes from whatever stimulants he is given to prop him up, hence his extreme garrulousness. Anyone familiar with coke or amphetamines will know that they lend you the ability to talk the hind leg off a donkey.

Mangelwurzelfortea · 21/01/2026 17:28

Yeah the Americans have found this thread now.

Hello, orange arse lickers!

Might not be those meds - my dad's chemo drugs make him talk the hind leg off a donkey and keep him up all night until the nausea and tiredness kicks in. But Trump is definitely coming across like he's on meds of some description.

kindofkin · 21/01/2026 17:31

Could Trump be autistic? He has zero intonation and speaks in this monotonous manner.

CalmShaker · 21/01/2026 17:31

Veryproudtobehere · 21/01/2026 17:05

That's due to size. An equivalent comparison, Europe, has a bigger GDP. And?

Just because of power it shouldn't mean others cower to this white settler state.

USA population is 4.4% of the world.

I'm not saying Trump is right or wrong, just that reading comments on here he has been painted into doing absolutely everything wrong and the country has no hope. Ive just given facts (check them for yourself if you're dubious) that says other.

‘Original and entertaining’ should be a description for an up and coming comedian, not the most powerful person in the world.

This. All Day Long.

If folk still think this is 'funny' (like they thought Boris was an idiot, but he was 'our idiot') then they need their heads examining. It really isn't fucking funny any more.

The people of America who voted him in; do they think he's great? Are they rebelling against the 'soft left' or are they just fucking stupid? Similarly here with the rise of support for Farage. He's a tit as well, and if Starmer was doing half the crap that Farage is and has done, they would be on the radio complaining about him.

Folk have truly lost their marbles in the last decade. I seriously don't know what to blame it on any more. It's like some sort of wild rebellion mixed with utter self sabotage in the name of rebellion.

Do these people who vote for Trump et all even know what they are rebelling against any more? It's social media telling everyone they are special for 'not following the crowd / mainstream media' The joke is well and truly on them, but also lost on them.

In the meantime, the world suffers.

Foggybottomblues · 21/01/2026 17:13

But the reality is you won't. If you take away all the nonsense what he is saying is NATO need to step up. They need to invest in their military. I think he has a great sense of humor and gets everyone talking and hopefully will story Europe into action.

His 'great sense of humour' is just him making lame and cruel jokes at someone else's expence. He has no wit at all. His humour is just making up puerile names for people he doesn't like and laughing at other people's misfortunes.

NATO countries have stepped up and increased their spending on defence.

*“The Ogre does what ogres can,
Deeds quite impossible for Man,
But one prize is beyond his reach:
The Ogre cannot master speech.

About a subjugated plain,
Among its desperate and slain,
The Ogre stalks with hands on hips,
While drivel gushes from his lips.”*

This from W.H. Auden came into my mind earlier while listening to Trump.

Foggybottomblues · 21/01/2026 17:38

@Mangelwurzelfortea- when you throw out comments like that it all it does is shut down discussion. I'm not a Trump arse licker I didn't vote for him. I do however agree that the US spends an awful lot of money on causes that don't benefit us at all and we have been shouldering more than our fair share when it comes to security and it's time for the rest of NATO to step up.

The man is mentally unwell and anyone still defending him at this point is delusional.

What did you think about him banging on about bars on windows and mental asylums yesterday whilst his Mother telling him he could be a great baseball star?

Or calling countries 'shitholes' or a working US Rep, a pirate and she only came to the country because she married her brother.
Or 'grab them by the pussy' and calling a female journo 'piggy'

Is that entertaining? Or original? god help us..

RudolphTheReindeer · 21/01/2026 17:53

I didn't see the Davos speech ramble but it sounds equally as bonkers and rambly as the press conference he did last night.

whats his beef with Somalians? Last night he said they're only good for being pirates. Btw did he mention today that he's got rid of all the pirates now? Oh actually, I remember him saying the somalians won't vote for him, so that probably explains his hatred.

zacsGranny · 21/01/2026 17:53

hahagogomomo · 21/01/2026 14:43

Im sure there’s some very lovely facilities in the Swiss mountains which would make a lovely care home for him, hasn’t he said enough to get him sectioned?

Dignitas instead of Davos

The events of the last 10 years and people's inability to engage their brain even a tiny bit in any issue beyond the surface makes me think there should be a mandatory intelligence test before you're allowed to vote.

Democracy was nice, but apparently we can't have nice things.

Come on guys see sense. If it wasn’t for the US we’d all be speaking German and a little bit of Japanese now

We're talking about Trump not the united states. There is a very big difference and they're not very united.

Tinytimmy123 · 21/01/2026 18:00

CalmShaker · 21/01/2026 16:57

USA contributes almost 29% to the world GDP at 30 trillion. To put that into perspective, Germany is third with 5 trillion.

Say what you want about Trump but the economy has continued to dramatically improve under him. USA is the powerhouse of the world and we need them a lot more then they need us.

The USa is trillions in debt and multiplying.by the second, probably faster under trump than any other time. He has acquired well.over a billion in the last year and his organisation billions more in deals worldwide. Let's not forget the trillions of dollars added to the coffers of his billionaire friends. Theres an an article.out in NYT( ?) about just how much he has brazenly grifted.

He transferred monies gleaned from Venezuelan oil to an account in Qatar...not to Americans ...to a bank account in Qatar. Same place that's giving him a plane that wont go to America.

And still the maga plebs think.he is in it for them.

Oh damn, I forgot the correct preface to the phrase. Sorry.
Actually Pratchett's eccentric beggars make a lot more sense than President Trump.

He makes me think of Discworld too, but Cosmo Lavish.

Though the name Foul Ole Ron does sound better when referring to trumpGrin

That as well maybe but the USA chose to be the worlds Police Man, chose to spend all this money on defence, no one made the US do this....

You chose to invade Iraq and Afghanistan because of an attack on your home soil, not ours.... yet it was the Europeans that triggered article 5 and went to war on your behalf and the UK lost 457 troops, Denmark, a tiny country, lost 43 soldiers... fighting a war that had SFA to do with with any of us in Europe, yet it caused millions of migrants to head our way, not yours....

Also, your country is unreliable, agreements made and signed into law, turned on their head, no rhyme or reason.

I ve always had great fondness for the Americans, your country sacrificed a great deal in WW2 in terms of blood but now you've elected a President that has wrecked everything the USA once stood for, it wont be won back easily, a lot in Europe wont forget this.

CarefullyCuratedFurniture · 21/01/2026 18:04

Abhannmor · 21/01/2026 16:50

Hmm. Farage is still betting the house on MAGA. Saying the world will be safer when the USA owns Greenland. This might play well with the hard core Reform supporters. But I doubt it will be a hit with the wider electorate? It's hard to say whether Nigel - A. Really believes this . B. Is losing his touch. C. Couldn't give a monkey's and is happy to remain in opposition anyway.

Nigel is funded (at a very deniable distance) by Putin. Putin has plenty of dirt on Trump. Nigel and his bosses would be very happy to see NATO fail and the UK align itself with an isolationist USA, because then Putin can get on with bothering Europe in peace. Dont ever fall for the nonsense that Reform is acting in the interests of the British people.

I'm not sure he is demented. I think he is a raging narcissist in full and unchallenged flow. He genuinely believes he is the closest thing to God on earth and I doubt anyone challenges him on anything. So, he believes his own bullshit. It is terrifying to watch.

Yes I think so too. It's too easy to blame it on dementia.
