Traitors, who do you root for?

RetainersinSpainnotontheplane · 18/01/2026 21:43

I root for the faithfuls even if I do prefer the personality of some of the traitors.

One of my kids roots for the traitors and thinks it’s deeply weird I don’t.

So just to see if I’m actually weird…

YABU = Traitors all the way
YANBU = Go Faithfuls

I think Stephen is very clever and has great people skills. He looks very guilty all the time, has lots of suspicion on him, but somehow manages to talk people into liking him, and believing him.

That’s kind of what alan Carr did. Likeable and looked so guilty. But got away with it!

mcmuffin22 · 19/01/2026 16:57

I think the traitors statistically have the upper hand don't they (those who are original traitors, not the late recruited ones who always get a bad deal)? So I root for the faithfuls because I imagine it is really difficult to guess who the hell are traitors. I cannot bear Rachel but I like Stephen as he has remained pretty true to his character I think.

This is the 1st series I've watched so not seen Alan in action, though knew he'd won of course

FallowF · 19/01/2026 18:01

Always lean on the traitors side but can be swayed by the personalities in each camp.

S2 with Harry, I was absolutely rooting for him to win throughout. He played a great game.

This year I think Rachel does deserve to win.

It's a hard game to win as a traitor so I think that's I'm usually on their side.

Daisywhatsyouranswer · 19/01/2026 18:12

I root for who I like best and is playing the best game. That’s changed in the last few days to Rachel. Who I do think is playing the best game.

the faithfuls this year are utter muppets. But as much as I say that, I had no idea who rhe secret traitor was , I never guessed Fiona, so I can imagine it’s hugely hard, much harder in real life so I’m also a muppet.

tilypu · 19/01/2026 20:14

"I had no idea who rhe secret traitor was , I never guessed Fiona, so I can imagine it’s hugely hard, much harder in real life"

Did you not? I thought they had made it too obvious in the show who it was, based on bits they showed of Fiona speaking before it was revealed. I didn't 'know know', but she was my prime suspect.

MargoChanningsglass · 19/01/2026 21:16

I posted earlier about this but would like to get other opinions.

When they are sitting at breakfast the last two or three who knock the door are chosen for the cliffhanger and are nearly always faithful?

Or do production edit that last knock? Surely after all this time the breakfasters would catch on its a fair bet one that wasnt murdered in last is faithful? Im possibly going mad and that's completely wrong though🤣

MadisonMarieParksValetta · 19/01/2026 21:21

Usually the faithful but this season I am 100% traitor. Beacuse the faithful are fuckin shit and deserve to lose.

No I’d no idea. And I think you were not in the majority.

Odditea · 19/01/2026 22:55

I also guessed that Fiona was the secret traitor, based on how she spoke in the diary room, the cuts to her reactions to things and just because it seems obvious that they would choose the most ‘unlikely’ - aha! You would have never have guessed that it was the doddery old kindly grandmother!

AllIdoistidyup · 20/01/2026 06:27

I thought Fiona was almost too obvious so I had guessed someone like Jessie but then someone pointed out that they're aiming for the average viewer and not someone who reads 100 crime/thriller novels with a twist per year like I do. She kept saying things like "Ooh, you shouldn't underestimate little old me!"

Daisywhatsyouranswer · 20/01/2026 08:09

Fiona was barely on my radar to be honest, and I was quite disappointed when it was her, well till the next night and she went batshit.

Although as I saw pointed out by a columnist (can't remember which) - she's 62 and still working. Hardly Miss Marple territory. That should have been a red flag on its own.

I’ve been thinking exactly that. All they would have to do is work out who hasn’t ever been in the last knocking group to work out who was a traitor.
Also the voting rounds. Claudia does a round up three for John three for Steve 3 for Gerry. Ooh a cliff hanger!!! Then the last 5 votes are all for Gerry. Handy that.

I'm really glad you agree as I thought i was imagining things!

And I do love the programme but think theres a lot of involvement by production (obviously lol).

I know the faithful are kinda thick in this one but my goodness there was literally no talk at all about Rachel after 2 blowups from Harriet and Fiona.

It just seems terribly processed to me this time, but ill keep watching hah!

This has been disproven so many times. Rachel has been in the last 3 once. Jack, Jade, Roxy and Stephen have not.

Really like Stephen so wouldn’t mind him winning but also really like Faraz as he's from my hometown!

Faraz is gorgeous!
Not sure if he deserves to win though 🤷🏻‍♀️

Is it on Weds, Thursday AND Friday?

I used to work with someone just like this . He was lazy , and was great at wriggling his way out of trouble and adept at blaming others . The Traitors is a great snapshot of a typical toxic work environment.

Yes. Final 3 Episodes this week

exercisedout · 22/01/2026 09:36

I’m at the point now where I want Stephen to turn on Rachel. I think she showed her true colours in the turret last night. It could be looked at in two ways, either she was warning him that they needed to change their strategy which would make sense, or she was feeling the pressure on herself after faraz and Roxy’s comments and she’s turning on Stephen as a method to protect herself. You could see Stephen’s shock as it meant their relationship had now changed. I would now rather see Stephen win! But ultimately I’d prefer a faithful to win, maybe Faraz, James, Jack or Jade. I feel bad for jade who you can tell is upset.
James wears his heart in his sleeve. And Faraz I thought was a bit of a thicko but it looks like he might’ve played the game well, unless Rachel murders him!

benten54 · 22/01/2026 11:32

I always through the point was the audience root for the Traitors. I never know people actually rooted for Faithfuls. All Faithfuls appear to be wet simps while the Traitors are Machiavellian strategists.

Fingalscave · 22/01/2026 11:36

I am rooting for Rachel, she's been clever. I like Stephen but I think he overdoes the shock expressions so I don't know how he's still there.
Roxy is just annoying
