ICE agent shoots woman in the face.

Eyesopenwideawake · 07/01/2026 21:18

It had to happen; in Minneapolis a woman in a car was shouting at the multiple ICE agents. One tried to open her car door, she started to drive away and was shot 2 (3? 4?) times in the head.

Trump is blaming her. Fucking hell.

They were all for jailing Lucy Connolly for a tweet - another mother.

Whose words could have caused real harm to innocent people. Totally different situation. Stop reaching.

But are illegal. Deporting illegal immigrants isn’t controversial or inhumane.

"And people protesting ICE are preventing dangerous criminals from being apprehended some of whom have engaged in high level VAWG and murder"

But you didn't say that. You said dangerous criminals. Being an illegal immigrant does not make you a dangerous criminal.

But are illegal. Deporting illegal immigrants isn’t controversial or inhumane.

But your point was that people are preventing ICE from deporting dangerous criminals. When it's pointed out that 75% have no criminal convictions, you switch to, but they're illegal immigrants, reverting your own logic.

Which is it?

Nomoremening · 08/01/2026 13:06

And to add the only way something like this would be acceptable if she was like someone who had just shot up a mall or school and was escaping or something like that.

Surely no one bar the mad MAGA followers is defending this. Absolutely horrific

You’d almost think some posters have an agenda, wouldn’t you?…….

What ‘agenda’ is that?

Why is it when a right wing person has an extreme opinion, it’s an ‘agenda’ but when it’s a left wing person it’s a sincerely held and genuine belief?

Is it beyond your worldview to believe somebody can have a view that’s offensive or even outrageous, that it must be in fact part of an ‘agenda’ which you never actually specify?

StandFirm · 08/01/2026 12:23

The last two paragraphs are really key:

"Even a real police officer would not have the right to shoot at her for trying to flee. This is well-established in the case law; deadly force may not be used simply to prevent someone from getting away. Given that the ICE officers had no law enforcement authority to begin with, AND the video footage shows she was trying to escape a perceived threat, not to kill anyone, the crime is all the more inexcusable. I'm praying for the victim's family, especially her children. I'm also praying for all the conservatives who are so unprincipled and lost they're excusing this terrible crime, and gloating over a death that will leave three young children motherless, because of the victim's politics."

What conservatives ?

Both.

I didn’t say ALL of them are criminals. I said they prevent criminals being deported which is fact. It doesn’t need to be one or the other because both are reasons for deportation, and valid ones.

Those of us who work in health care, justice services, education, social work have probably been threatened more times than we can count, assaulted and frightened by members of the public of all ages and races.

If I murdered everyone who has ever frightened me in a professional setting I’d be a serial killer.

She didn’t have to die

You don’t have the full evidence. This will need a court case to go through it, anyone who thinks they can decide confidently without that evidence is likely mistaken.

I suppose at least we are in agreement that Donald Trump is perverting the course of justice with his statements about the shooting.

The New York Times has an excellent analysis of the video. I don't want to put up the link as it shows the murder, so am going to paste the transcript.

Videos Contradict Trump Administration Account of ICE Shooting in Minneapolis
An analysis of footage from three camera angles shows that the motorist was driving away from — not toward — a federal officer when he opened fire.
On Wednesday in Minneapolis, a federal agent fatally shot a motorist, 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. Trump administration officials said these were “defensive shots” fired because the officer was being run over. But our analysis of bystander footage, filmed from different angles, appears to show the agent was not in the path of the victim’s SUV when he fired three shots at close range. Here’s how events unfolded. Moments before the shooting, the victim’s maroon SUV is stopped in the middle of the street. Multiple unmarked federal vehicles are idling nearby. Secretary Noem alleged the motorist “was blocking the officers in.” Bystanders are blowing whistles and yelling at federal agents. Then, federal vehicles start moving toward the maroon SUV with sirens and lights blaring. A federal agent films the scene on his phone. The driver rolls forward slightly, turning left, then stops and waves for others to go ahead. Two agents exit this silver pickup and walk toward the vehicle. Moments later, shots are fired. Let’s look at the scene again more closely. This is the agent who shoots the driver. He walks around the car filming and disappears from view. Other agents pull up and order the driver to exit her vehicle. One of them grabs at the door handle and reaches inside. The SUV reverses, then turns right, apparently attempting to leave. At the same time, the agent filming crosses toward the left of the vehicle and grabs his gun. He opens fire on the motorist and continues shooting as she drives past. The moment the agent fires, he is standing here to the left of the SUV and the wheels are pointing to the right away from the agent. This appears to conflict with allegations that the SUV was ramming or about to ram the officer. President Trump and others said the federal agent was hit by the SUV, often pointing to another video filmed from a different angle. And it’s true that at this moment, in this grainy, low-resolution footage, it does look like the agent is being struck by the SUV. But when we synchronize it with the first clip, we can see the agent is not being run over. In fact, his feet are positioned away from the SUV. The SUV crashes into a white car parked down the road. A bystander runs toward the collision. The federal agents on scene do not appear to rush to provide emergency medical care. Eventually, the agent who shot the motorist approaches the vehicle. Seconds later, he turns back around and tells his colleagues to call 911. Agents blocked several bystanders who attempt to provide medical care, including one who identifies himself as a physician. At the same time, several agents, including the agent who opened fire, get in their vehicles and drive off, apparently altering the active crime scene.

That is a really sad read 😢

Well by that logic, people are also protecting innocent people, many of whom have done nothing wrong (other than having the wrong colour skin), and some of whom are in the US legally, from being pepper sprayed, zip tied, wrongfully held in dangerous and squalid conditions, and deported to foreign concentration camps.

Americans don’t know their own history. Not even their own. Never mind everyone else’s.

But it is happening here. In a more subtle way. People in my locality are urging the RNLI not to save those in the water. Repeatedly and gleefully.

There is already a lot of evidence from the videos that the bystanders took as well as many eye witness accounts. It shows clearly that she was maliciously murdered. There are many slo mo accounts that illustrate that . Some posted here on this thread . Others in reputable newspapers.

They’re probably all conservatives, but remember ‘conservative’ is a broad brush and the Overton window has moved. So it now means everyone who is a centrist or any further right than that.

In the same way ‘left wing’ can mean somebody who believes in the NHS, it can also mean a paid up communist.

YourBrickTiger · 08/01/2026 13:12

SwissChaletPatriot · 08/01/2026 12:20

No it isn’t. You just don’t like it. That doesn’t make it ‘fucking disgusting’.

You might not agree with my classification of the deceased, but that aside, it is factually accurate. A woman interfered with law enforcement doing their job. She was asked to stop and she didn’t. She was subsequently fatally apprehended and is now dead. That’s it.

It IS fucking disgusting. Is that the solution to everything in America??? SHOOT?? She didn't do ANYTHING to justify that. Even in a big vehicle those agents had plenty of room to move. They are trigger happy and it's not the first time it's happened! What they did at The Capitol was far far worse and look half of them have been pardoned! If you can't see how fucked up Trump is and his leckies, you are a huge part of the problem too and I reiterate it will be interesting to see how you will react if a war does start. Practice what you preach if you're that brave.

whyschoolwhy · 08/01/2026 12:59

Which footage is this? Do you have a link? The footage I've seen does not show the car make contact with the officer.

I have zoomed into the frame by frame footage, focussing on his feet very closely, and at NO time are his feet lifted off the ground. He side steps to avoid the car. I’ve tried saving the clip as a gif but still too large for Mumsnet.

He DID NOT get lifted off the ground by an impact . It categorically did NOT happen.

Also, he clearly shot the first shot after he was well clear of the vehicle, and then two more shots from the side while stepping after the vehicle. He wanted to kill her.

The car did not cause him to leave the ground. It just didn’t.

She didn’t drive the vehicle at him. She didn’t.

Yes, she did. He didn't jump into the path of an already moving vehicle. The car moved towards him and made contact with him...after she'd been told to get out.

I do feel very sorry for her. The USA is a mental place in general with all these guns. But tbh, with all you see in the media you'd have to be fucking bonkers to not immediately comply with an instruction from gun carrying officers. Absolutely crazy to ignore when they're shouting at you to get out of the car.

Look what happened when he was allegedly shot? Hysteria, everyone is to blame, everyone loses their passport, he's right about everything. Maybe if it happens again, the same people saying her murdered was justified can say the same for him.
