ICE agent shoots woman in the face.

Eyesopenwideawake · 07/01/2026 21:18

It had to happen; in Minneapolis a woman in a car was shouting at the multiple ICE agents. One tried to open her car door, she started to drive away and was shot 2 (3? 4?) times in the head.

Trump is blaming her. Fucking hell.

EDIT BY MNHQ - Though the footage of this incident is in the public domain, we have removed the link originally included in this thread as we believe it could cause distress.

You still can’t control who posts, whether from the US or anywhere. If it gets to you that much there’s other closed sites where everyone has the same views as you do I’m sure.

Why are you so literal. The roots of Mumsnet are British and that will never change. It is not exactly left field to think people don't want to be bombarded with this hateful, extreme right wing propaganda when they visit a site named, "Mumsnet".

Pinguuuus · 08/01/2026 10:13

America used to be a beacon of hope. The land of the free. Now it feels like it’s turning its back on Europe and threatening Greenland and Canada. Is this what American people really want for their country?

You now have a city threatening to bring out the National Guard to protect its citizens from government officials. What will happen if Trump wangles another term?

I bet all of this is going to be a killer for tourism
to
America.

At risk of getting destroyed by some posters on here- from the different angles she does clearly drive towards the ICE agent who was in front of the car before she changes direction from reverse to forward. If we are going to allow the narrative that she was fearful for her safety, we also have to allow the same for him. From what I can see if she was not shot he would have been hit by the car.

If anything he made the vehicle more dangerous because it was now out of control.

Video looks thoroughly like a terrified woman trying to escape men pointing guns at her. She even steers away from the man towards the front so she is not trying to ruin him down.

Sadly I think the only result from this is ICE agents being handed a license to kill and always be believed when they say it was defence. Its deeply sinister that all the way up to the POTUS, they are smearing this woman they murdered as a violent protestor and they will never stop doing so.

It was a lose - lose situation for her. She was trapped. It was going to end baldy for her either way. It was also misogynist murder, I rather think if this had been a white middle class male driver he would have got out of this alive.

It doesn't matter whether she was local or drove there to support the protests. She didn't do anything illegal. The victim blaming in this thread is wild.

Agreed, the slaivating, trigger happy right wing US Trump supporters on this thread are rather lowering the tone with their wild victim blaming and incitement to violence.

The poster didn't insuate that as well you know!

Yep @EasternStandard - think you're being a bit pass ag here.

You know what I'm saying.

And if you genuinely don't ... I rest my case on the differences.

Arraminta · 08/01/2026 10:16

Why did she attempt to drive off? She had been part of the protest so knew she was confronted by ICE officers. They had instructed her to stop, but instead she tried to drive off?

I have an American friend whose DS is learning to drive and apparently it's drilled in to them, that if ordered to stop by any law enforcement officer, they must immediately comply and do exactly what they're told.

The poor woman knew she was confronted by notoriously trigger happy, knuckle dragging ICE agents. So why risk not doing exactly what they told her to do?

Just stop trying to drive people off because they have different views. If something happens o/s I want to hear from people there.

If you don’t want that take it up with mnhq or see if there’s a site that limits posting locations.

Shooting tyres often doesn't cause the vehicle to stop, in fact it can be more dangerous to other road users to do so. If you have ever seen UK police use a stinger to deflate tyres during a chase then you will find there are strict criteria for using the device. A determined driver will even carry on driving on the rim of the wheel rather than stop.
I'm providing this as info, not commenting on anything else.

True. But similar training and guidance in many places in the US says don’t stand in front of a car and shoot the driver to stop it. If shooting the tyres is out as an option, then so is shooting the driver.

I do appreciate that the split second you are in a situation is very different to being able to watch it on a video after the fact. But this quite difficult to explain away the officer walking away from the scene, the police being told that the only injured person was the woman when they turned up and the victim being denied medical care.

Pinguuuus · 08/01/2026 10:17

She shouldn’t have driven off but maybe she panicked and probably thought as an American citizen they should have no beef with her. They could have done a million and one things to apprehend her that didn’t involve shooting her in the face

According to the witness evidence, they were shouting at her to move. Perhaps that's why she moved.

Totally agree @Pinguuuus

No longer a beacon of hope but one of genuine despair.

No desire to visit there anymore either .

Yep you’ve got it idk what you’re insinuating or whatever. If you don’t like US related threads there’s an easy way to avoid them.

This was not a drug bust, it was a legal protest.

They were apprehending illegal immigrants. But at least you admit that you cannot just interfere with federal agents like that

Why did she think she had any right to intervene? Who gave her that idea? She didn’t just stand on a sidewalk with a sign. She used her car to block them and then (maybe inadvertently maybe not) drove towards one.

Teddleshon1 · 08/01/2026 10:20

The two key pieces of advice I have always drummed into my children are to get out of a building as quickly as possible at the first sight of fire and never do anything that could be interpreted as aggressive or evasive in the presence of an officer of the law.

Fernsrus · 08/01/2026 10:21

It’s plain as day that she hit nobody and was shot for driving off.

You all know a mother died? As a result of a law enforcement guy not being trained properly to de escalate a situation ?
A mother.
Of a 6 year old.
And this is a forum for mums.

and you're chatting very calmly about a mother being shot in the face 3 times...

'Move' as in Move your car? Or 'move' as in get out of your car?

Such a heart breaking tragedy.

aphroditeflighty · 08/01/2026 10:23

Trump and Vance are of course defending the ICE agent - this is the new world we're living in.
The the fact that the shooter, covered his face and just gets into his vehicle and drives off from the scene should not bode well for him, but in this new era who knows if justice will be served by the courts.

YourBrickTiger · 08/01/2026 10:24

I'm so upset and sickened by this - her death as a young boy's mum as well as Asshat now saying she was trying to hurt the officers. WHEN is this going to be stopped? The fact he is getting away with these LIES is horrifying.

SummerOctopus · 08/01/2026 10:25

The Trump supporters who i have seen blindly supporting Trump on multiple threads are scary. They don't even see it, how they defend him no matter what.

RedTagAlan · 08/01/2026 10:25

PandoraSocks · 08/01/2026 09:37

She wasn't a criminal. But you know that.

Breitbart and other Trumpian news sites will be doing the whole character assignation on her. We can be sure of that.
