What a nasty thread! The faux confusion at why she’s covered up…. It will be an exclusivity deal, but acting surprised at why she’s got this seems contradictory when clearly you are interested and you do want to see.
The comments about not inviting his Mum, why are we blaming the woman? Is he some poor bullied man and he’s being dragged down the aisle and told his mum can’t come? Or maybe things have gone on behind the scenes that have led to this and he is in agreement. We see enough threads on here of people being told to go no contact, why should they put up with things they don’t want to?
The bitchiness about what people are wearing. It is their wedding, if they want people in suits then that is their business. Nasty comments about how people look in their outfits are unnecessary, they have attended a happy event yet will wake up today with loads of comments tearing them down from other women. Does pulling someone down boost you up?

Do you think they will be reading here - or any other comments online? People slag one another off all over these boards. All the time. Are people not supposed to be criticising Adam and Holly because of who they are?

Im assuming after he fell out with his mum. But I think my point is he doesn’t seem to have fallen out with his dad as much. And if they were still on good enough terms for a wedding invitation why not reception as well

Sorry, yes, wasn't trying to justify it just curious!

Harper Beckham is 14 years old and you're mocking how she looks and calling her and her family a pack of knob heads. Hope you're proud of yourself.

Exactly Harper is 14 years old, she is like her mother’s real life mannequin, wearing that awful silky material, caked in makeup.
Granted, it’s not her fault, it’s her mother who cannot help herself. A massive attention seeker.

I’m surprised the boys weren’t wearing one of VB’ gowns/night dress.

I like the Ramsey family from what I’ve seen on TV - Gordon and Tana have certainly raised their kids to be personable and down to earth. Jack particularly so from the programme I saw him do on homelessness.

I do feel sorry for the Adam Peaty’s family though. This will put a huge wound that will never properly heal.

The Beckham dresses are horrid though. Apart from the one Victoria is wearing herself which is still an odd choice for a daytime church wedding. Tana’s is an ugly colour that absolutely drains her and the bridesmaids’ dresses are so unflattering - I feel sorry for the young women having to wear them - overbright ugly tomato red and high necklines. As per usual Harper dressed inappropriately - all in black - and as usual is having to clutch most of the fabric as she walks. If she’s forced to wear older womenswear, why doesn’t her mother - the world famous dress designer - get someone to hem her daughter’s dresses at the right length so she can walk in them? Mystery!

The bridesmaids dresses were horrible. All that cash and they looked like that.

Bruisername · 28/12/2025 11:58

Was that a fox fur stole David was carrying for Victoria?

I was a competitive swimmer as a teenager and my parents drove me all over the country and spent a lot of money on it. To the outside world they would seem to be supporting loving parents who made huge sacrifices for me. They present themselves as such to this day.

However there was also a huge amount of toxicity and neglect in my childhood. Only as an adult have I realised how damaging my childhood was.

Not saying this is the case for the Peaty family, but the ‘we sacrificed so much for kids’ narrative doesn’t give a full picture by a long way necessarily.

The whole sacrifice thing is a double-edged sword - it’s a big pressure for a kid in addition to the pressure of competition.

Some kids who are into a skill when they’re young - sport, music, dance etc - it’s very much the kid driving it and the parents acquiesce; but in other cases the it’s driven by the parents who want an exceptional kid. Stage mom types. That can be toxic.

Vanessa Mae the violinist, has been no contact with her mother for years.

That said, AP seemed to be in contact with his mum until she kicked off in the press.

I didn’t think about the tabloids tbh.

i just assumed that the thought process was We’re So Special that my hubby needs not to be seeing it after proles eyes have seen it 🙄

Absolutely nothing to do with “proles” or any of that BS. She has 100% sold the photos of her dress to someone, maybe Vogue Weddings or something, and this is part of the agreement so that the magazine/website will have an exclusive. I find it kind of bizarre that you assumed it as a slight to us “normal people” (Gordon Ramsey is no idiot - he knows press coverage is everything, and a lot of his viewers and people who fund his lifestyle are “proles,” so I can only imagine his PR approving this if it is indeed for a magazine spread).

Why does VB always make dresses far too long so they trail on the floor, it looks stupid and really limits mobility

Quincette · 28/12/2025 12:01

I think Harper had the best dress. I love black for a wedding. Victoria’s was nice on the bottom half but a bit Star Trek crew member on the top. I liked the bridesmaids’ dresses, but a nicer, darker shade of red would’ve been better.

Okiedokie123 · 28/12/2025 12:02

I think the more interesting question is - Why does David Beckham appear to be holding a dead animal? real or fake it looks so weird!

notnorman · 28/12/2025 12:02

Have they let Miss Havisham out

It’s not so much that problem bothering me. It’s that in Victoria Beckham’s current season, and including these red bridesmaid dresses, she seems to have made a ton of dresses that have ruching right on the front of the pubic area, so it looks like an arsehole. It’s REALLY unattractive, and you couldn’t pay me to wear one (unless the money was a good amount! 😂). Example here. Tell me that doesn’t look like an arsehole on the front of the dress:

Argh, I can’t get the photo to post.

diddl · 28/12/2025 12:05

surely a custom made cape like this would have looked far better than the bedsheet?

But then the dress wouldn't be completely covered?

No, because Miss Havisham had been wearing that bridal outfit for some 25 years, since she was jilted. It was ragged and stained and covered in cobwebs.
Holly was in pristine white.

speedtalker · 27/12/2025 15:16

do like the bridesmaids dresses though, lovely colour and cut. Think the Christmas colour scheme is fun (Tanya and V Beckham in Christmas green. Might look a little over coordinated in pics though. Victoria’s dress not one of her best )

Really? My first thought was that she mustn’t want her bridesmaids to upstage as neither the colour or cut of them does anything for them They look like cheap clingy polyester but assume isn’t. Ditto the cloak, the material looks cheap and nasty. Would have been much better with a velvet cloak rather than that shiny tacky monstrosity.

Absolutely loved Sara Davies dress though. Was looking at her Instagram to see if she said where she’d got it. She looked absolutely beautiful.

diddl · 28/12/2025 12:08

When I saw VB's dress the phrase "pussy bow" came to mind😊

Unfortunately I think a lot of VBs designs are influenced by her eating disorder. There is a theme to make women look small and frail throughout

One could conclude from the nasty comments on this thread that a lot of people didn't enjoy their Christmas and didn't get what they wanted from Santa.

Lucky people to have been able to get married in Bath Abby I hope they and all their guests had a wonderful day

One thing to say they don't like a dress or Cape etc but completely different to project all their hate to create a narrative about complete strangers.
I read AIBU and often wonder why people are the way they are o here...I know AIBU has always been like this but what's the motivation, what do they actually get out of it. A sense of connection? A confidence boost ?

Honestly why are you being so vile? Calling people chavs, bitching about a young couples’ wedding day.

If I had a choice of hanging out with their family or you today I know who seems the nicer bet.

Oh no how will I sleep tonight knowing you don't want to hang out with me. Personally I would rather hang out with almost anyone than the Ramseys

People who use the word chav are disgusting. You probably call people sp*cs and p**s too.

youngwildandni · 28/12/2025 12:20

This is easily one of the meanest, bitchiest threads I’ve seen on here in a long time. Whether you like the dress, the cape, the bridesmaids dresses, the people… or not, some of you should be ashamed of the way you’re tearing down people you don’t even know on what’s supposed to be one of the happiest and most special days of their lives. Whether they read this or not doesn’t make it ok to lambast them!

As for the family ‘drama’ - none of us (I would have thought) truly know what’s gone on behind closed doors. AP’s mum and aunt giving interviews to tabloids and publicising private texts between them certainly won’t have helped though so in that respect I have a lot of sympathy for the bride and groom. For me, any hope of a reconciliation would have ended th e second my mum chose to go to a national newspaper and sell a story about me.

This is the kind of reply I’d expect from a 12 year old 😂

If you don't want people to talk about you /keep your life private ? Many people manage it.
