Picture didn’t post fir some reason

Lovely to see the Black Tower! It was the only wine my Dad would drink and so we always had it at Christmas.

Rhayader · 25/12/2025 21:15

This was before the gravy pour.

Cooking in my mums kitchen with her state-of-the-art appliances but extremely blunt knives!

I love how your broccoli is super green and looks crunchy 😊

It does look green doesn't it! It was served at about 1:30- lovely bright sunshine in the south at that time. We lost my brother a couple of weeks ago so I felt I needed to make an effort with mum. She enjoyed hers. 1st decent meal in ages so that was good!

here is mine. Was very good if I say so myself!

@apricotdreams yours is the one I want to eat most. Plenty of sprouts, parsnips and pigs in blankets.

This one also looks yum - red cabbage! And that Yorkshire looks epic!

Do you forget to cook the pigs? 😱

Lol, no, it was all perfectly cooked 😊

WhatTimeDoYouCallThis · 25/12/2025 21:49

Some amazing meals here! I cooked the turkey with tons of homemade garlic, onion, sage, butter, brown bread stuffing and it was quite tasty - forgot the red cabbage grrrr

The sausages just look a little pale and uncooked. Maybe it's the lighting

Redflagsabounded · 25/12/2025 21:54

Plates absolutely overflowing with food you could eat any day of the week. I don't think any of it looks enticing at all.

Oh go away you misery.

Fe2O3Girl · 25/12/2025 22:14

Roast beef, roast potatoes and parsnips, Yorkshire puddings, stuffing balls and pigs in blankets, broccoli, sprouts with pancetta, and mashed carrot and turnip. Gravy not in photo. All delicious.

It’s a chocolate cake behind the veg dish. My late MIL made this every year and my son has taken over.

Thanks to being the taxi service for grown up kids who were working today (chef, specialist burns nurse and DH who is a vicar and could not manage the cycle ride between churches with all his Christmas vestments and so on) Our Christmas meal will not happen till Saturday. Today’s excitement was HOT beans on toast……no pictures.

itsallabitofamystery · 25/12/2025 22:45

Mine was basically a Sunday roast but with turkey.

My partner has more traditional elements such as sprouts, but he forgot to put mash on his.

Here’s mine, pre-gravy. I had a disaster with the mash. Despite using the ricer and being pressure cooked for longer than the usual amount one of the potatoes wasn’t cooked properly and made the mash really lumpy. Luckily there was some homemade mash in the freezer left over from previous meals. It completely saved the day!

No picture but Turkey Crown. Parsnips, carrots potatoes and pigs in blankets. Gravy of course. Lovely Meal
You just cant buy it out, what you can do at home.

We do our pigs in blankets from scratch eg we buy proper sausages from the butchers and streaky bacon.
Wrap the bacon round the sausages cut up and cook in the oven.

Never buy shop.bought ready made ones.
Neither of us likes stuffing, so we dont bother.
😀

Horrorscope · 25/12/2025 23:00
