This horrid little man

So almost a year ago I asked a local painter and decorator to come and quote for some work . Ever since then he’s been sending unwanted messages and recently other unwanted images ( you know what I mean 🤣) . I’ve blocked him numerous times but he must have 2 phones as a few weeks later the calls and messages start again . He’s definitely married or has a partner . If he contacts me again would you tell him you will report for stalking ? I’d rather he just sods off but I know he will be back as I think he probably does this quite a lot 😕

yep I’ve kept all the screenshots in case they are required. I’m not sure why people feel im
making this up though . There are much nicer things I’d make up a story about and I’m way to
old to make up stories .

Pay no attention @Lovelycupofcoffee Hope you're OK. Flowers Have you got anyone to support you/go with you if you have to give a statement to the police or something?

Charlize43 · 23/12/2025 14:00

Don't always have time to read every message, but anyone receiving unsolicited pictures of penises should report it to the police immediately as it is a criminal offence, instead of posting on MN.

You could at least read the OP’s posts

Zov · 23/12/2025 14:50

@B1anche As the pp said, read the OP's posts!

Also though, Mumsnet can be very helpful and supportive and people sometimes will come here for advice and help (before doing anything.) Many posters are lovely, and helpful.

Eh? Did you mean to tag me? I have been following the thread since it started. What do you think I've missed? And why?

Oooops, many apologies, I meant to tag @Charlize43 ! 😬

Report to the police.
And, nothing sorts these men out quicker than a factual social media post. Public shaming is a powerful thing and other victims of his might come forward.

Andepeda · 23/12/2025 15:03

I believe you OP, had similar in the past.

I’m even thinking of putting a post on the local neighbourhood app thing . Tradesmen advertise on there and I’ve seen people recommending him 😠

She has done!!!! Don't post if you can't keep up with the updates

Horses7 · 23/12/2025 15:34

Report him - this kind of thing escalates. You’ll be doing yourself and others a favour.
Or at least warn him that’s what you’ll do if it continues.

What did he say when you told him to stop messaging you?

Pineappleice43 · 23/12/2025 15:49

You have to tell him to stop contacting you. Then if he continues to contact you report to the police who can tell him he is harassing you and give him a warning

MrsVBS · 23/12/2025 15:55

The fact you’re using a smiley face seems like you actually like the attention otherwise you would have nipped it in the bud straight away. It’s disgusting and predatory, report him and don’t give him carte blanche to keep doing it to you or other women.

Yes definitely warn other people. It’s not OK for men to behave like this. I live alone a lot of the time and I would never book a trade from someone who had been known to do this. Disgusting pig deserves to lose business and be publicly shamed as well as having the police make a visit. I hope he’s prosecuted and has to explain himself to his partner.

Oh for goodness sake, it doesn't mean the OP likes the attention because she put a 😂emoji. She was probably still quite stunned and gobsmacked by it, and put is as a 'can you believe men do this shit' kind of reaction.

I occasionally put 'OMG I lost my phone for 2 hours this morning LOL!' on a message to my DC or a friend. Doesn't mean I thought it was funny, just that it was ridiculous and you can't believe this thing actually happened (when it did!)

.

Calliopespa · 23/12/2025 16:13

Lovelycupofcoffee · 23/12/2025 11:14

I’m not sure why I put up with it this long . He goes quiet for ages then comes back . Its not at all funny and as I live on my own it’s bloody scarey.

Edited

I'm not sure either.

In fact I'm so not sure that I assumed that "you know what I mean" didn't in fact mean that.

I was wondering if it was pics of his other sorts of pipes and hoses and plumbing equipment. But if actually explicit, then of course you need to act.

I've said it upthread but just wanted to reiterate - I really think you should report him to your local Trading Standards (usually c/o your county council). He is using his professional capacity to target people. Find your local Trading Standards office - GOV.UK. Your call could be the one that gets him investigated and shut down, because these sorts of people rarely stop at dick pics. The more they get away with it, the bolder they become, and the more likely they are to do something more serious.

Rank 🤮 But, as an aside, this fascination that some men seem to have with sending pictures of their genitalia baffles me? I cannot for the life of me imagine thinking “oh, I fancy that man, quick, I’ll send him a picture of my vagina”? Just….why?
I had a friend receive one, whilst having afternoon tea with her elderly Mother, the night after what was ostensibly a very pleasant and chaste first date. And he was a primary school teacher. It’s vile.
The others I’ve seen also haven’t had the desired effect. I get distracted from the “main event” as it were by the fact that they are either always wearing manky tracksuit bottoms, have unfortunate bed linen, filthy carpet, or in one particularly horrific example, toenails so dirty they were black. 🤮🤮🤮🤮

Exactly.
