There’s more chance of that happening with the 2.4 million farm animals being brutally killed by pet dogs every year though. As opposed to the 61 reported fox kills (League Against Cruel Sports figures) across 2 years.

Can you explain how the dog analogy is the same? It’s accidental. Stupid perhaps but not deliberate or arranged or done in the name of fun.

Would your children enjoy seeing a cat kill a bird with its jaws? There is a definite chance of that happening.

That is a really stupid comparison.

Trail (or other) hunts are for fun, and are participated in by humans with highly developed brains, who train and encourage the hounds.

Cats are led by instinct. Many people furnish their cat with a bell, in an attempt to warn birds. People who would encourage their cat to kill a bird would be the same kind of warped minded people who think seeing a wild animal ripped apart by dogs is ok.

They're not hunting foxes. HTH.

No it doesn’t because I’m sure as you well know, foxes and other wildlife get caught up in it. HTH.

BundleBoogie · 28/12/2025 23:01

MrsSkylerWhite · 28/12/2025 22:56

If you say so.

I do. League Against Cruel Sports reported 61 confirmed kills in 2 years.

Meanwhile pet dogs kill 64,000 other pet dogs per year. As well as the 2.4 million farm animals.

nam3c4ang3 · 28/12/2025 23:01

I am absolutely gob-smacked someone has compared trail hunting to child abuse. OP - do you even know what trail hunting is?

Those animal lovers who love their animals so much they will have them killed off they can't use them to go and kill wildlife. They clearly don't love them at all if they will just kill them off.

Animals get "killed off" every day. For meat. Did you not realise?

Again, for food. Not for fun. What are you struggling with here?

Just for fun, why don't you look up how many live birds are killed by pet cats each year. Go on, have a go.

BundleBoogie · 28/12/2025 22:53

They are not fox hunts - that is illegal.

You are completely mistaken in thinking hunts are all about posh people.

I imagine that’s why most left leaning people are so anti, they think they are sticking it to the poshos. They are wrong and it’s really sad to see how desperate they are to punish law abiding people. .

No, people, whether left or right wing, don't like hunting because they don't like the concept of people going out with horses and dogs to chase terrified animals and have them torn apart and killed for entertainment. It's very convenient for hunt supporters to try to attribute it to something else, but they really need to admit the truth.

Again, for food. Not for fun. What are you struggling with here?

What's the real difference? Dead is dead. Would you care if someone kills you to eat or for the craic? What difference does it make?

Maybe have a look at the post I was replying to.

You are making yourself look really dim here. How can you compare a cats natural instincts to the developed depraved brains of humans who do this for fun. It’s laughable.

Saz12 · 28/12/2025 23:05

I think the statistics of 64,000 pets and 2.4million farm animals killed each year by pet dogs are inaccurate, or extend beyond the UK?

GoodQueenWenceslaus · 28/12/2025 23:05

IWantToSneeze · 28/12/2025 22:53

Have you ever met a cat?

Since when did people dress up in red coats and go following hunting cats on horseback and cheering them on when they catch and kill their prey?

BundleBoogie · 28/12/2025 23:05

flumpsfortea · 28/12/2025 23:00

Do you know trail hunting is? That is what’s being discussed here, not fox hunting.

The numbers are pretty stark though? Do you have an issue with dog owners’ incompetence, negligence and lack of education being responsible for the horrific deaths of literally millions of animals per year? Or is it just the poor foxes you worry about?

I don’t have a dog. Farm animals aren’t generally ripped to shreds and their offspring left to starve when they’re slaughtered.

Whatabout, whatabout …..

flumpsfortea · 28/12/2025 23:07

IWantToSneeze · 28/12/2025 23:06

Cats do it for fun.

So a cat is akin to a human? Why don’t they drive cars and have jobs then? You clearly are taking the piss now.

Well what is your problem here. Animals being hunted - or red coats?

I think the poster is pointing out that a huge amount of animals are killed in a grotesque way and that the focus and outrage over 61 foxes over two years is disproportionate compared to 4 million farm animals is where our attention should be - a lot could be done with stupid dog owners - this shouldn’t be happening - im a dog owner too - I don’t think we can just accept the 4 million as accidental - it’s bloody lazy

Please stop.
Are you seriously comparing a cat’s critical thinking skills with a human being. 😂

Oh bless you. My point is that hunters claim to love animals, but also say they would kill their dogs and horses if they were no longer able to go hunting with them. Such love,! Do you have anything to say regarding that or will you continue to try and derail?

Ps I'm aware animals are killed every day for meat. I'm opposed to that as well. I don't eat animals.

Look it up. Cats, lovely fluffy pussy cats, are disastrous for the bird population.

Trail hunts do not hunt animals.

Of course I know what it is. Do you? Do you acknowledge that foxes and other wildlife get caught up in it?

I do have an issue with negligent dog owners. A big pet peeve of mine actually and a big problem in society. But not comparable to people doing this for sport.

While I realise it’s trail hunting that’s been discussed, would you be ok with the sight of a fox being ripped apart should it ‘accidentally’ get caught up in one?

MrsSkylerWhite · 28/12/2025 23:11

You forgot to add “illegal” to those 61 kills” (terrified, exhausted animals torn apart for fun and cheered on by inadequates who wipe the blood on the faces of their children)
