Australia terror threat

I want to go on holiday to australia. I've been before but after what happened to bondi beach, my friend is saying Australia is a very dangerous country and listed as a high level risk of terrorism. I said I still want to go abd if it was that dangerous the FCO would ban people from going. I said I would ask the travel agent when I book. The travel agent said she would still go to Australia but would not go to Israel and said she wouldn't feel as safe in Israel. My friend said the travel agent is only saying this to get me to book the holiday abd spend money so of course she will say yes go.

What does anyone else think? Does what happened on bondi beach pit you off visiting Australia

I’d say YANBU. I travelled round Bali in 2003, just a few months after the horrific terrorist bombings which claimed over 200 lives. Family were worried but - I didn’t fell at all unsafe. In fact, I scarpered back there to recover my sanity after narrowly avoided being caught up in the London bombings in 2005.

Sadly, none of us know when or when the next terrorist attacks might be. We all need to exercise some vigilance, but try and life our lives without being ruled by fear

Have to say, Tebay Services is great - as is Gloucester. Part of the same group I think!

I was thinking of the wrong Service Station.
Not Tebay but Forton with the cool looking tower.
So futuristic looking when built but now here we are in the future and the tower is apparently abandoned.
Why spend ££££ to go to Oz when you could visit this piece of UK history?
I've never been there. It's on my list....
