I'm currently sat in a and e and I have nothing to think about.

My husband said do you think and a e doctors and nurses treat more then one person of the same name each day.

Not just doctors or nurses but teachers, sales people. How many times a day see or treat someone with the same name

Please forgive me I am very bored. My son has fallen asleep while waiting to hear of max fax.

First and last name? I think it would be fairly rare!

Hope everything turns out OK in the end xxx

FaceBothered · 03/10/2025 23:50

I would've thought in a predominantly Asian area, the chances of treating more than one Muhammad are quite high.

I was looking at someone’s name the other day, it was like Claire Jones or something, and I thought god I bet there are at least 5 of those in this town alone! Pretty good if you don’t want to stand out but I can’t even remember it as it was that much of a nothingy name.

I see multiples of first names all the time in my job - Ian, Tom, Charlotte, Sarah, Sophie and Emily and Jane! But not the same first and last.

Mama2many73 · 03/10/2025 23:53

As a teacher I dont think I taught anyone with exactly the same name, but I'm often surprised on fb when I see a friend, from one area of my life, is also friends with a friend from another side ie work /hobby. I click to find its a different person with exactly the same name. That happens regularly!

Hope everything goes well at a&e x

Would you rather be 9 inches tall or 9ft tall? (One of the ridiculous questions I’ve been asked at work recently!)

Theunamedcat · 03/10/2025 23:55

I went to school with someone with the same first and last name I also worked with someone same first and last name years later I asked if she was the one who went to x school (because I couldn't remember her face) she said no looked at me like I was crazy and never spoke to me again years later my daughter went to school with a child whose parent was someone ELSE who had the same name as me (although the first name was spelt slightly different) I finally got married! And his aunt had the same first and last name as my married name

I will never be unique

Contemporaneouslyagog · 03/10/2025 23:56

My DS an A and E resident Dr did, one day had two patients with same name , it did cause a lot of double checking. To make sure they weren't mixed up.

My friend and her husband moved into a new rented house. His name was something like jack Williams. Bailiffs came banging on the door and asked if he was jack Williams and he said yes so they demanded to be let in as they were owed money. Turned out the previous owner was also jack williams and it was a nightmare because the bailiffs were having none of it!

I have 3 friends on my Facebook all with the same first middle and last name. I don’t have a million friends on there either!

I was in a gcse maths class with 4 Marks. Two of them had the same surname.

I taught a class of 15 of whom 4 were named Tom.

Although I'd hate to be 9ft tall I'd have to choose that over being just 9inches. Being that tiny everything would be out of reach all the time, it would take ages to walk anywhere having tiny legs, cutlery would be massive, god everything would be hard.

TheFourYearOldDrankAllTheMilk · 04/10/2025 00:02

I taught for two years in a school where the head, Andy, was replaced by a Mark, then I left to go to another school and two years there, where the head, Andy, was replaced by a Mark, who was then replaced by a different Andy.

My primary school head was named Andy, and my secondary school head was an Andrew.

Now that I lay all of that out, I feel very unsettled.

Andy, Andy, Andy, Mark, Andy, Mark, Andy. Both Marks were usurpers who ousted the Andys. I don't know what became of the four Marks in my maths class, but it was the top set :-)

I love that your first thought was the massive cutlery! . But, think of the food- just one chocolate biscuit would be amazing!

But if you were 9 feet tall, think how many chocolate biscuits you could eat!

Yes but how would you get it in your mouth?

NannyR · 04/10/2025 00:09

I once went in for a day surgery and there was someone in the next cubicle who had the same first and surname (one letter spelling difference) as me and the same day and month birthdate, but a different year. It's not even a particularly common name.

9 inches and I'd ride a cat to work.

I’m now suspicious you are my colleague as that was her answer!

But think of the cost. 9 inches and 1 chocolate biscuit would be like a 3 course meal.

Hahaha we also have exactly the same name.

CrispsPlease · 04/10/2025 00:18

It does occasionally happen.

My DH had his whole medical history mixed up. Turned out there was a man with exactly the same name (including middle name) with exactly the same date of birth registered at the same dr's surgery as him in the same town!

AwakeNotThruChoice · 04/10/2025 00:18

@Anon9898 have you seen that weird film Downsizing -

Wait for the image to load and you'll see you can do this anyway 🤭
