In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Manchester, I want to implore people not to lose steam or, more importantly, hope.

Gaza is still facing destruction, famine and genocide.

We need to continue to peacefully pressure our government to take action and sanction the Israeli government and to educate and inform people about the horrors faced by the Palestinian people day in and day out for the last two years.

People who opposed the liberation of Palestine want for this to be a turning point. For people to point the finger at a movement that wants to see the end of the suffering of millions and label it as inciting hate.

It's not.
And it's important.

Please don't put down your passion for Gaza.

The UN as an organization has not issued a definitive legal determination, as that authority lies with courts like the International Court of Justice (ICJ)

Regardless, a genocide is wiping out every living thing - are you saying Israel hasn't the technological ability to do that? If it was committing a " genocide" it wouldn't be strategically targeting anything and would just blow the entire area to hell in a handcart

"A genocide is wiping out every living thing"

Nonsense. Your understanding of the term genocide is flawed, as is your ability to express empathy for a group of people on the brink. The provocative language you've used to reference the people of Palestine throughout your numerous posts indicates a total lack of moral agency. And it's that attitude that does more harm to people's perception of Jewish people, than any protest ever could.

Lanzarotelady · 04/10/2025 10:43

Hamas, people who support them, are not interested in peace, they are not interested in working with Jewish people, Free Palestine, from whom exactly!

Anti semetism is rife

Protesting for Palestine - you ask them if they want freeing from Hamas and the truth comes out. They want blood.

MyLimeGuide · 04/10/2025 10:52

Its disgusting people are still protesting. What a waste of time also! Do you really think Ben N gives a crap about a bunch of skinny liberal hippies in london with nothing better to do with their time!

MyLimeGuide · 04/10/2025 10:54

ShazMidlands · 04/10/2025 01:15

Given the killer at the synagogue was called "JIHAD" and he was an Islamist, should we just pretend he was out on a random walk as an atheist?

I know right! Great name!! 😂

The protests aren't for the benefit of Yahoo. They're for our government and our people. To bring light to the plight of a people being relentlessly murdered.
They're to put pressure on our government so stop the supply of arms, to stop their recon missions, to recognise a Palestinian state, to boycott Israeli products.
There's absolutely a point to the protests.

Well free them from Israel, obviously.

Do they not want freeing from Hamas, or is that not part of your rhetoric?

Do you condemn the actions of Hamas, do you really?

YorkshireGoldDrinker · 04/10/2025 10:59

Why so much passion for a country that you didn't really give a toss about until the 7th of October? I'm a Christian and English, I care for England and Christianity, I'm not interested in sectarian conflict.

No

You're losing support left, right and centre with the complete lack of empathy and insensitivity shown.

So true. But they can’t see it.

How do you know that the poster didn’t give a toss about Palestine prior to 7th of October? A lot of people including myself have followed this conflict for decades. Free Palestine isn’t a new thing.
A lot of people care about things which happens outside of UK borders/ foreign affairs. You sound very disconnected.

I'm not disconnected. I'm disinterested and couldn't care less about conflicts in the Middle East given all of the issues in Britain that have and still continue to go ignored.

Because it's clear as day to most people with a working brain that protesting on behalf of Palestine right now is going to make Jews even more frightened. I don't know if you're aware, but Jews got killed in a terrorist attack last week.

FairyPoppins · 04/10/2025 11:16

Hamas are fanatics.
They choose to hide amongst schools & hospitals to try and stop Israel rooting them out.
Unfortunately if they are not wiped out completely then they will regroup over time and another attack on Israel will be inevitable.
Whilst I appreciate that not all Muslims are fanatics, you can't get away from the fact that 80% of terrorist attacks throughout the world are committed by Muslims..why is that?

IsEveryUserNameBloodyTaken · 04/10/2025 11:18

Icreatedausernameyippee · 04/10/2025 01:10

The marches are for the liberation of Palestine, not against Jewish people.

Well you better tell that to the marchers who are calling on attacks on Jews all over the world.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/10/2025 11:19

It's not insensitive to continue to protest a genocide in the wake of a terror attack

Doesn't that depend on how it's protested, @Icreatedausernameyippee?

Without doubt there'll be some thoroughly well intentioned people present, but also far too many screamers and spitters who'll be chanting their hateful slogans with even greater glee ... and doubtless the second group will try to pretend they belong to the first, lacking the humanity to understand that this simply isn't the time for their hate

HappyGolmore2 · 04/10/2025 11:21

Peaceful protest does help change, it at least highlights issues and puts pressure on.
Those who say it makes no difference are usually the ones trying to suppress a different view point to their own.
It's awful some lone attacker murdered people at a place of worship, it's also awful that Israel is murdering tens of thousands of innocents. Both of these things can be true at the same time.

Judgejudysno1fan · 04/10/2025 11:22

Icreatedausernameyippee · 04/10/2025 00:20

It's not insensitive to continue to protest a genocide in the wake of a terror attack.

The Jewish people of the world and the state of Israel are not one in the same. There are Jews a plenty who don't claim Israel.
Protesting the actions of a government committing atrocities is not the same as protesting Jewish people.

There are wonderful Jewish people who actually condemns what Israel have done years before Oct 7 happened. And they're getting beaten up and cursed at simply for standing up for the death of children.

It's horrendous. I'm a Muslim lady and I love my fellow Jewish brothers and sisters as well as my christian brothers and sisters. We have a lot of similarities, it just hurts my heart whats going on in the world.

HeyThereDelila · 04/10/2025 11:23

YABVU and deeply insensitive to the Jewish community.

Shame on you, OP.

miserableandworried · 04/10/2025 11:24

What do those of you who go on the marches think they accomplished?

Do you think that if a load of middle class people from a country hundreds of miles away are seen to be unhappy with the IDF, that they will just say “oh no, we better just let a registered terrorist organisation exterminate us because Dave and Julie have protested about us trying to defend ourselves”

Do you not understand that there is propaganda coming from both sides? What benefit would Israel get from starving people, the same people who they pre warned of the retaliation to the 7/10 attack? They know the whole world is watching.
