In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Manchester, I want to implore people not to lose steam or, more importantly, hope.

Gaza is still facing destruction, famine and genocide.

We need to continue to peacefully pressure our government to take action and sanction the Israeli government and to educate and inform people about the horrors faced by the Palestinian people day in and day out for the last two years.

People who opposed the liberation of Palestine want for this to be a turning point. For people to point the finger at a movement that wants to see the end of the suffering of millions and label it as inciting hate.

It's not.
And it's important.

Please don't put down your passion for Gaza.

What strikes me on this thread is how certain people are of their opinion being right when they are simultaneously ignorant of some very basic facts to do with the situation. Such as the fact that Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005. That Israel has been supplying aid to Gaza. That Hamas explicitly states its wish to exterminate all Jews worldwide. That Hamas has repeatedly refused to agree to the terms of ceasefires. All of this is a matter of public record, not hard to find information, not obscure. I get that people are confused about 'whose land it was in the first place' because that has been the subject of arguments for a very long time. (But even that can be unraveled fairly simply by reading a history book.) But the ignorance of basic facts, while claiming absolute moral certainty, is really shocking to me.

I know what you are referring to , but the area is still considered occupied by the UN (and Uk). You know this too.

No, I don't. I know what the facts are. I prefer to stick to facts rather than ideologies. Israel withdrew from Gaza but yes, continued to supply aid such as food and electricity. Is that what's considered occupation? Maybe they should have just fucked off and left them to manage for themselves? Then I expect you'd be saying how evil they are for not feeding and looking after the people who want them dead.

No, I think that any increase in Antisemitism is being caused directly by Israel committing a genocide, and before you tell me me Israel isn't Judaism, tell that to Netanyahu who expressly says it is.
