Fucking Gross Adverts

BlueEyedBogWitch · 21/09/2025 07:47

It started with little kids on the toilet with their pants round their ankles, holding their noses.

Then there was the one with a woman farting at work and then scurrying to the bathroom clutching a bog roll.

I think I reached the nadir last night when I was subjected to an advert for razors which treated me to the sight of a man bending down with his back to the camera and his hand under his dressing gown, shaving his sack and crack.

I mean, that might not be the nadir. Maybe next time they’ll drop the dressing down, and I can feast my eyes on his arsehole winking at me while it gets a short back and sides.

At this rate I’ll have to clear all the crap off my kitchen table and start eating like a civilised human again.

AIBU, or are adverts getting increasingly foul?

The close up of the kid farting in the loo roll advert is just grim.

Jellyheadbang · 21/09/2025 09:51

I try and avoid ads as much as possible and mostly tune them out nowadays but my child recently said ‘why’s that man sniffing the other man’s private’s?’ And it was some kind of deodorant thing I think and sports maybe rugby and one guy was literally sniffing the others guys butt or nethers, can’t remember which , presumably to appreciate the deodorant or something, it’s unnecessary and bloody weird .
we have become an anything goes society in so many ways so liberal in the way people dress, talk openly about sexual preferences and kink and display said preferences in clothes and style during the day etc

everything is ok now and celebrated unless it’s ’benefit scroungers’, immigrants, disabled people, people with invisible or fluctuating illnesses, ADHD, autism , mental health issues etc, those people need to get back in their box and behind closed doors and stop asking for help or ‘getting something for nothing’
Dystopia is here and now

In my experience the people who love to talk about kinks and sex parties are weirdly right wing...they use liberal ideals for what suits them. Like Christians who protest against refugees.

The dancing Pepso Bismol people. “Diarrhoea!”

That ad doesn't gross me out at all but I do wonder how on earth it git made. It reminds me of The Apprentice task where the hapless idiots have to make an ad and they're always utter shite.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 21/09/2025 09:57

I’m another one who doesn’t mind the Pepto-Bismal one - at least it’s cheerful. The others mentioned are very off-putting. Yes, it’s good that women find it easier to talk about periods, but all the gushing and blood and all the rest is a bit much for me, likewise the Tena ads. I know it was annoying when they used to use blue liquid to represent menstrual blood, but surely this was because lots of people feel a bit queasy looking at blood. I know that’s what my body produces during a period, it doesn’t mean I want to see it on the TV while I’m eating my dinner, just so everyone can say how right on it is that it’s not blue liquid any more. Yes, let’s strike a blow for feminism by making people feel a bit sick.

carmak · 21/09/2025 09:57

I hate armpits in adverts, they give me the heebiejeebies. I think we see them less now, it's all about your nether regions instead.

The animal charity ones during the day are horrific.

I love this one 🤣

When you have heartburn, nausea, indigestion, upset stomach, Diarrhea!! 🎶

Makes me actually want to buy pepto bismol 💝

I always wonder whether the actors regret it, when their friends and family constantly rib them about it.

Have you seen the price of Pepto Bismol?????

Nanny0gg · 21/09/2025 10:00

BlueEyedBogWitch · 21/09/2025 07:54

I think that might be where it started. Remember “Get it up there, girls!” ?

The boundaries are getting pushed further and further, to the point where they’re knocking me sick now.

It's the deodorant one for all the 'personal' parts of your body

Do we need to see a man spraying it down his boxers?

(and no-one should need it anyway)

What happened to Advertising Standards?

Yep, hense not buying it. But the advert makes me WANT to 😂

I wouldnt have thought so, its a job at the end of the day, they're just actors. They turn up, do the shots and go home and then onto the next job.

Barneysmomma · 21/09/2025 10:01

Slightly off topic I know but is anyone else disturbed by the KFC golden egg advert? A crowd are worshipping it then a man gets picked up.like a surfboard, dunked in a lake & turned into a breaded chicken portion! It just makes me very uncomfortable.....

DaffodilValley · 21/09/2025 10:01

daisychain01 · 21/09/2025 09:19

Is that the one with the goose?

actually I thought the butt holder is a very good idea - my main bugbear is litter and flytipping, so I thought it is at least something that trains smokers that it is highly antisocial to throw their butt ends on the ground and squash them, it's really vile behaviour.

It’s a duck, but yes.
It may be a good idea (like anti-acids, incontinence pads and deodorant), but that doesn’t mean we have to see it multiple times on every thread on the forum to the exclusion of everything else.

It utterly turns my stomach and it is massively counterproductive if they want people to use the forum. It’s the same as the other disgusting adverts we are talking about here, while they get attention they put people off both the product and the platform they are shown on.

In the case of MN I don’t understand why this one advert is so ubiquitous and constant, and nobody has been able to explain it or offer a solution despite several requests for help with it.

There is definitely a move towards unpleasant, shocking adverts rather than appealing ones these days - I don’t understand it.

Yes it’s bloody awful! Turns my stomach!

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 21/09/2025 10:01

Ugh and that all over deodorant for bollocks, bums and fannies. Gross ad,

I don't mean to sound melodramatic - but I'm so grateful for this thread. I thought I was being overly sensitive.

The Pepto Bismol one is disgusting and now my 4 year old keeps shouting Diarrhoeaaaaa!! I could literally strangle the advertisers.

The Always one...and DFS one with the bottom on someone's head....it's all so unnecessary.

The Pampers "poonami" one drives me mad. Especially as the parents go back to sleep after the baby does the "poonami" without changing the nappy! I mean FFS, just because the shit didn't leak out everywhere, you're not seriously leaving that baby to sleep in its own shit all night are you?! Gives me such (completely irrational) anxiety.

I'd assumed that they had gone back to sleep after quickly changing the nappy, without having to deal with a complete shitastrophe explosion everywhere, but I see your point

flobalobble · 21/09/2025 10:03

All gross so much just turn volume down on all ads !

Nanny0gg · 21/09/2025 10:03

Bastilee · 21/09/2025 08:34

It’s the kid farting at school and crop dusting his way to the toilet with a big roll in his hand that’s makes me feel gross

And we all know the reaction he'd get in a real school

NoelFurlong · 21/09/2025 10:03

I agree. Adverts have become too much.

I find the kid in the school one with the loo roll particularly offensive.

That ad is awful! Even a nappy one now has cartoon poo bouncing around.

When ads are on I now just pick up my phone to scroll or do something useful for a few minutes.

Amberlynnswashcloth · 21/09/2025 10:06

There's a chocolate ad that I find really disgusting. The characters are shown chomping and gnawing at massive chunks in such a way that reminds me of dogs with dental chews. I think its Cadbury's but couldn't be sure because I switch off.
