I recently found a metal chastity cage (for a males anatomy) in my husbands cupboard. Obviously a bit of a shock.

I could never figure out how these worked practically in regards to toileting. They would have been in the way somewhat and would have been crusted with wee/poo. The person would have needed a full washing out underneath after each toilet trip, and I doubt they would have been easy to get everything off given they didn’t exactly have high powered showers/hoses. The woman’s skin would have been raw like a baby sitting in a dirty nappy too long, and I’m guessing infection could be the only end result, which wouldn’t have ended well back then.,
