Racially aggravated rape and assault

ThatRoseBear · 12/09/2025 20:46

Two days ago in Oldbury, West Midlands a British born Sikh woman in her 20s was raped and assaulted around 8.00am just off a busy road. The two suspects were white males who made a comment along the lines of she didn't belong in this country during the attack.
I am heartbroken for this girl, they targeted her based on her skin colour through hate and used sexual and physical violence against her to make their point.

This is in a diverse area that is quite familiar to me. I am absolutely petrified for my teenage kids and have sat them down this evening to discuss safety. They are in their mid to late teens and racism hasn't been something that has particularly effected them. I had it when younger but not much as an adult thankfully. I thought in 2025 we were better than this.

AIBU to think we should have an expectation of safety irrespective of skin colour?

It's fucking sickening OP and terrifying.

That poor woman, my heart breaks for her.

So much rascism at the moment. Saw my first flag pedestrian crossing today. It emboldens men like this.

The government need to look at the forces that are stirring up social media online and whipping up rascist sentiment.

UncertainPerson · 12/09/2025 21:10

That’s absolutely horrifying. What vile racist men. I don’t even know what to say.

nomas · 12/09/2025 21:10

That is horrific. That poor woman. Sad

MidnightScroller · 12/09/2025 21:12

That’s absolutely sickening - the poor girl she must’ve be terrified for her life. I hope they catch the bastards and send them to the bottom of the ocean. The whole reason those flags were coming out was cos of rapes in the first place wasn’t it? So to make some thickass point some dickheads have raped a completely unrelated woman.
Cant these men just leave women and girls alone 😪

At that time of the day she was likely going to work. It was such a brazen attack and I just feel really crap tonight. My parents had racism when they arrived in 1979, never did I think they would live through it again in their area as pensioners.

I drive through areas where the flags are off the scale. Literally houses with every window obscured with huge flags in some roads. Roundabouts painted and every lamppost with a flag.

Really scary times

Women and girls are the easy vulnerable target. Sexual violence is going to be weaponised I fear.

That poor woman. It's particularly horrifying that it happened in daylight. She must have felt so violated and terrified.

These men hate women. Particularly women of colour. Then they have the audacity to weaponise the crimes they commit against us to defend their behaviour. No wonder we’d choose the bear.

Well it is vile and dusgusting

but why is it not racially aggravated when a black/asian man rapes a white girl /woman?

WaryCrow · 12/09/2025 21:33

It’s men. Men are getting violent. The precise reason they use at any given time is just an excuse.

Because they're probably not making racist remarks while doing it. Bringing whataboutism into rape is a pretty shitty thing to do.

They were actually talking about her being sent ‘home’ whilst attacking her, of course there is a difference.

White British are the majority here, we can’t even begin to say we’re victims of racism.

TheDayWeGotMinnie · 12/09/2025 21:42

It would be if they said something to make it such. With this incident telling her she doesn't belong in this country and to get out makes it racially aggravated

Well if they said similar things they’d be charged with racially aggravated assault or rape. But love that’s your main takeaway from this story!

Because if they had then it would have been reported by the police as racially aggravated? I'm not sure I'm the stupid one here.

It will be if they say racist things while carrying out the rape!

Did you read the article? It’s what the vile perpetrators said during the attack that makes it racist.
How slow are some of the apologists on here today…

VivienneDelacroix · 12/09/2025 22:10

I've been thinking about this poor woman since I read the article earlier in the day. I'm utterly sickened and terrified for our society.
The whataboutery on this thread adds insult to injury too. White fragility is a big part of the problem and there are posters on this thread who clearly aren't ashamed of theirs.

Who said it wasn't? Can't you just empathise with this woman and what she's suffered?
