Just a chat to understand what’s going on with the influx of England and UJ flags all over the streets?

thoughts?
where did it stem from?
is it making you uncomfortable? (It is, me, but not entirely sure why)

And the police are covering up the crimes committed by these hotel residents. Complain to the police about them inappropriately behaving around children and they just get a free taxi back to their hotel in time for dinner.

If you are supposedly fleeing your home country in fear of your safety of life then I doubt seeing a flag would intimidate you.

My bestie who was born in this country has literally just rung me up to tell me how uncomfortable the flags are making her feel. But of course the racists won’t care about that, guess they’ll be delighted.

Secondly, why not use the Union flag, which is surely more associated with patriotism of this country? The Union flag is associated with the Royals, with Team GB, etc. why pick the flag with far right connotations?

These people have deserted their country, deserted their friends and family. That’s how keen they are to reach the UK. I doubt they are phased by a few flags. Quaking at the sight of a sign of patriotism? Yeah, right.

It’s not the flags themselves, it’s the ideology behind it. The motive is driven by far-right agendas. I am 100% with every fibre against that agenda. Anyone saying it’s “just patriotic fun” is either disingenuous, naive, or a useful idiot.

Honestly, I'm finding it incredibly hypocritical how many people are saying that flying the England flag feels sinister to them as it has been hijacked by far-right racists - then go out every week with Palestinian flags and deny that they understand why that make a lot of people feel very uncomfortable. Despite that flag having been hijacked by far-left antisemites and terrorists. Same goes for the keffiyeh - an innocent piece of material or are people wearing it because they are terrorist-sympathisers? After all, plenty of terrorists wear them and have done so while committing terrorist acts.

How are you meant to tell the sinister intent from the action? You can't. So either flying flags is fine and you ignore that people with sinister intent also fly them - or you accept that flying flags makes people feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome in this country because we don't know which flags are up with sinister intent and which ones aren't.

Either way, if people could please decide if flags are offensive or not and then apply that rule to all flags, that would be great. Thanks!

A ‘hateful lefty’. How convenient.

The whole thing started because someone put up some flags, I think it was in Birmingham but might be mistaken, and the council took them down.

People in genral don't like being told what they can and can't do, so some people suggested if loads are put up there will be too many for them to take down. That was it, that was the reason. If the original council had not taken them down I doubt it would have spread to elsewhere. Now the more people moan about it the more flags will go up.

I suggest you do exactly what the first part of your username says 🤞🏾
