Was looking forward to having some strawberries with some nice thick greek yoghurt I had in the fridge and it turns out I just bought boring natural yoghurt by mistake 😭

I feel your pain - I’ve just splashed tomato soup on my jumpsuit, it also needs handwash cycle so spends most of its life in the laundry basket and I’ve only just washed it 😩

Tomato soup is the worst!
Guess you won't be wearing it again for a long time.....

I have to go to a concert with my daughter tonight, because her friend (who is 15 and needs to be accompanied) didn’t arrange for her own mum to go with her. My choice is to go with them or for them not to go at all and I can’t do that to my daughter.

I was preparing bottles and formula and I never attached the bottom of the bottles and put the formula right through a bottle onto the floor today😅

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Where are you going? Might you enjoy it when you get there? I loved being the responsible adult taking dd and friends to concerts. They’re all too old to need me now.

Reallybadidea · 27/08/2025 14:55

For those who sympathised with my tragically tea-less holiday, I can confirm that my first cup on arriving home was superb ☕

New tragedy - a bird has been in and did two big shits on the bed that was freshly made for our return 😭 And I have no clean duvet cover either 😡 (No sign of the bird, so presumably a hit and run fly)

Totally understand - I go on Rightmove at least once a week to look at properties I have no current chance of purchasing.

Someone has snapped up my future home... sold STC. It's so rude - it's perfect for me: https://www.astleys.net/properties-for-sale/overland-road-mumbles-swansea-2/

Oh there are too many steps to the door, too much pruning to do and I heard the neighbours are a nightmare. Go look for another perfect house, you’d have hated that one.

Shmoigel · 27/08/2025 14:58

I queued for half an hour for icecream in cornwall. Went to walk down a slope and lick it at the same time and the ball of ice cream plopped off the top and rolled down a sandy slope! I am not ashamed to admit, I cried! It was rum and raisin!

AtomicBlondeRose · 27/08/2025 14:59

Two days ago I made poached eggs on toast for lunch. My toast was ready, buttered and waiting. Firstly I broke the yolk of one egg putting it in the pan which was a bit crap, but it still looked ok. The second one, however, was perfect, and I DROPPED IT ON THE FLOOR! So not only did I have to clean up the beautiful runny yolk, I then got to eat a cold, broken poached egg, and although I made myself another egg (fine, not great), the toast was cold anyway.

Chappel Roan. I don’t even know what a chappel roan is and so far this year I’ve done Robbie Williams, Oasis, AC/DC with her. I really don’t want to do another! I’m hoping I can see them in and come back out to sit in my car for some peace! The venue is one I’ve only been to once before and it’s a nightmare to get out of so will be scouting out where I can leave early and park, that my daughter can wheel to. I’m always her “plus 1” when she goes anywhere, I was looking forward to another parent taking a turn!

Okay I can see that, but Oasis! That must have been good? Chappell Roan is quite good pop, she’s been on the R2 playlist a couple of times (only way I hear new music), she headlined Reading Festival on Friday (set is on iPlayer if you want to know before hand whether to watch or head to the car).

My lovely amazing Breville OneCup has brewed its last.
I won her in a competition about 12 years ago and she gave up the ghost today. *sob

Apparently that's good luck if they go on you, I'm sure bedsheets count 🤣🤣

A baked bean fell off my fork halfway to my mouth and rolled down the top I'd only had on for about 10 minutes!

Always the bloody case!!

I had put a delicious mince concoction into the slow cooker to be ready for when I got home from work at 10.30pm.

I am sure you can guess what I forgot to do...

Toast. I had toast.

I left tags on some new clothes and they disintegrated in the wash, causing the discharge to clog and now the washer wont drain. Expensive repair will far outpace what I saved on the clothes. This is what I get for always being in a rush.

There is often a filter that can be removed and cleaned on washing machines.

Ordered something for the family on deliveroo - took about 30mins for everyone to decide. Waited, waited. 20mins later thought I'd check if delivery time had changed and discovered that they cancelled the whole order because they didn't have any garlic bread. Person to added it hadn't even been sure if they wanted it FGS.

aperolspritzbasicbitch · 26/08/2025 20:42

I actually didn’t think this was possible.
don’t we all pack as if we are going to soil ourselves thrice daily?

I certainly do. I once came home from a week long holiday and still had 18 clean pairs.

Aww, she's had a good innings though and given you some happy memories by the sound of it ❤️

UncorrectedPersonalityTraits · 27/08/2025 15:52

My son accidently had the chocolates that he sent me for my birthday delivered to my Dad instead of me... We live 300 miles apart.

CoffeeCantata · 27/08/2025 16:00

I often cut cake recipes in half or a third when there’s only 2of us here and I shouldn’t be eating cake at all. A couple of times the cake’s been in the oven 10 mins when I’ve realised I didn’t cut the quantity of say, flour or butter proportionately!

Too late to remedy things….aaarrrggghhh.

ConnieHeart · 27/08/2025 16:04

Gave my dd1 a list of things to get as she said she was going to Aldi. There is a specific bread that I buy from Aldi that they don't sell in Lidl. Guess where she went instead? And she bought bread that was 30p more expensive and dd2 doesn't like it. I refuse to pay more than 80p for bread & the one from Aldi is 79p & we all like it

Yes, to be fair, it was good. But having to do all of this shit without getting to see a decent show is the downside. We’ve had 3 fights already and the bloke at the entrance just tried to intimidate me to say I couldn’t come back to the car. Dick!
