The sudden appearance of the English flag hung on lamp posts, railings etc has absolutely sickened me, and my dd.
I am proud to be British, but the misappropriation of the flag by thugs, intending to intimidate, is absolutely not acceptable in a diverse society.
So tonight myself and my adult dd ripped them down in our area, and tomorrow we will be going on a flag hunt, to rip down any more we find.
I would strongly urge those of you that feel the same way, to also remove them, as long as you feel safe and comfortable to do it.
Posting in AIBU for traffic.

This is just conjecture 👀

Oh I see, it's unconfirmed. Well that video seems to have been widely circulated so if it is OP I think she might need a balaclava for her next trip to the supermarket. 😂

The lefties on here need to work in a jobcentre. See how lazy the asylum seekers are when they get on Universal Credit. Sanctioning the idle bastards is difficult to do. Takes a shit load of filling in forms and then you struggle to prove they are bone idle and not looking for work. Very hurtful when you have two jobs. One scumbag said 'My wife would like a big family, how many kids can I have on UC?'. I replied 'I know this sounds out there but listen to me. Have you thought about getting a JOB and like, supporting your family? Ever thought about contraception?' We had some asylum seekers from Afghanistan and Ukraine. They were very hard-working and really wanted a job to be fair. I had one fucker who told me that he could not attend his jobcentre appointment as he had to attend Friday prayers. Off you fuck. The prayers do not last all day. I booked him in. When in Rome...... Certain ladies from the Middle Eastern countries (I speak Arabic) thought they did not need to work in the UK as they had kids. One fucker turned up for an interview with a mask on. This was after the Covid- 19 restrictions had been lifted. I told her I would not conduct the interview until she removed her ineffective mask. She was well in her sixties. Told me she could not work as she had two kids. They were aged 23 and 21! No SEND needs before a mumsnetter comes out with that as an excuse! She soon got a job in a food processing plant in our local industrial estate when I told her benefits would be chopped. Funny they all needed a translator (which the government paid for). However, they can speak English when it comes to questions about the payments of their benefits!

We offered a scheme to jobseekers - half-price on London buses and trams for six months. Or three months half-price on London buses, trams, tube and National Rail for three months. I offered the latter to claimants that were looking for work. I had lots of idle bastards (asylum seeking women from Syria, Iraq etc) asking me for the half-price bus pass. When I queried this they told me they wanted to visit friends. No evidence of looking for work. As it was at my discretion I refused. I was paying tube fare to get to the jobcentre which came to £5 a day. A weekly pass was £30 for me. I pay full price - so do you. Lazy bastards refused to attend English classes that were free. I referred many and they did not even turn up to their initial assessment. Came begging for food bank vouchers too. Absolute scrubbers. No intention of working or integrating into society. Wanted to sit in their homes entertaining whilst drinking mint tea. Their husbands reluctantly worked 16 hours per week for minimum wage in an Arabic supermarket. They got their rent paid (check the rates for a three-bedroom flat in on the LHA website. Their husbands' sixteen hours per week at minimum wage did not make a dent on what they claimed.

Some of them magically became pregnant when their youngest got to age 5 - obviously to avoid getting a JOB. A drain on society.

Such a shame that this has become such a divisive issue.

British citizens of all races, religions and backgrounds fought real fascism under this flag.

The flag represents us all (I’m a quarter non-white and my non-white grandfather fought in WW2).

People talk about the history of the Union Jack and slavery.

The current Union Jack is from 1801. The slave trade was outlawed in 1807 so it hardly went on for long under this flag.

Also, the UK was literally the first country in the world to outlaw the slave trade when just about everywhere in the world (Africa, Asia, Middle East, USA etc) was still doing it.

Once slavery was ended, a British subject was a British subject whatever their colour and wherever they were from in the British empire.

Not saying we should have the empire back but the modern Commonwealth is something we should be proud of along with our flag.

United we stand.

Don’t give in to hatred, and don’t let people use the flag that belongs to ALL of us and that we should ALL be proud of be used as a stick to beat others with.

Rip the flags down! A call for action!

My cousin has never worked in her adult life, apart from the occasional cash in hand job that obviously wasn’t declared to UC.

She claims an uplift for Limited Capacity, because of her ‘mental health,” has no council tax liability and has been in a HA property (fully funded) for almost a decade.

Do you speak about your non-immigrant clientele with the same obvious vitriol, and speak to them in the same tone it sounds like you’re using for the idle bastard Syrians?

By no means am I suggesting they’re not scrounging. Just wondering if you hate all the unemployed or just the immigrant ones. If you do hate all unemployed “scroungers”, to this level, might I suggest a new job. They’re sort of your whole job.

I really don't think you have ever worked in a job centre. .

There's different rules for asylum seekers and those who have been processed and designated as refugees.

But don't let facts get in the way of your bilious invective.

Universal credit: Immigration and residence conditions - Shelter England

Most British citizens, many EU nationals and some people from outside the EU can get for universal credit if they meet the general rules of entitlement.

I have been advocating for hanging our flag all through this thread, I’ve tried to state it’s not a far right thing or a racist thing, that there are genuine concerns about our culture being eroded and about mass immigration and even I find your post in poor taste @ElizabethDavid it positively drips with racism and xenophobia. I am also dubious that you’ve actually worked in a job centre.

Im more in the ‘don’t hate the players, hate the game’ camp. Don’t hate the people that are trying to make a new life here - hate the people exploiting them to get them here in the first place and hate the government policy on immigration that allows it to get to the level it has but don’t hate the individuals for fucks’ sake.

I've done a lot of work alongside job centre employees. While their levels of empathy and competence varied I never came across an employee like that. I'm pretty sure it wasn't part of their brief to tell the clients to use contraception either.

And I don't see what it's got to do with flags either.

Thank you ☺️

Perhaps people who want to fly the flag but without racist intentions could display this (or similar) too!

Stephybris62 · 30/08/2025 23:24

Lets be realistic here, theres only one reason all these flags are now appearing.
They are all also going up by the same type of people.
Good on u op.

Its funny because the vast majority of people I know like this are British.
And lets be honest, these are the people with the big issue of people coming into the country, because they want all the benefits themselves not having worked a day in their lives.

Where were all the flags before this then?

If painting flags on public property everywhere is patriotic then im rather embarrassed.

What do you think of the flag of Pakistan being flown from public buildings in Birmingham?

Do you mean when it was celebrating a holiday?
That is in no way the same as people putting flags up everywhere for racist reasons, of a load of thugs on motorbikes wearing balaclavas spray painting the flag all over the roads and walls.

It’s a distinction without a difference. Flying the flag of one country is encouraged and celebrated, while you distain another group for flying theirs.

You cannot genuinely claim all St George flags are being flown for racist reasons. A child is sexually assaulted by a migrant and you would, I presume, immediately rush to say we must not use this as evidence to judge all other migrants, a yardstick by which to measure them all. However, racist graffiti appears and now we are supposed to immediately label everyone who puts up a flag as a racist.

Interesting you describe them as a load of thugs on motorbikes wearing balaclavas. So many organised crime gangs operating in Central London wear exactly that. I take it you’d be happy to apply the same definition to the illegal migrants behaving in that fashion?
