To think Sunday breakfast is the best?

DH and I make it a point of having a fancy breakfast every Sunday.

We don’t eat breakfast the other 6 days so when we get back from the gym on Sunday morning we have a feast 😁

Today we’re having eggs with Dillon keto bread. Greek yoghurt with berries and keto granola sprinkled over. DH will have coffee and I’ll have Rooibos.

Its the best day for a lavish breakfast and we won’t need to eat until dinner tonight!

Enjoy your breakfast!

For mine to be lavish i’d need some avocado, some hollandaise and some smoked salmon. I am hungry now.

Sounds fun...

Cabinqueen · 24/08/2025 10:08

On a weekend it's wholemeal bread, bacon and brie with cranberries and for me, bacon and brie with chilli jam for husband also with proper coffee and orange juice....🤤😋 Sets us up for the rest of the day. Often working on weekends so today is a real treat.

Sounds amazing!

It really is the best way to start the day 😁👌🏻

Seriously, posts like this cause eating disorders. My daughter is seriously ill with an eating disorder and it’s because of crap like this. You don’t eat breakfast on 6 days - why did you need to mention that? Because people take some strange pride in disordered eating. Also you won’t eat until tonight because you had some yoghurt and a slice of keto bread? Unless you are really struggling with your weight or extremely inactive that’s just ridiculous.

Please can people stop thinking that showing off about starving yourselves deserves a trophy.

You could have made this post about your breakfast without all the comments about missing meals. Maybe they indicate that you have a poor relationship with food?

Borgonzola · 24/08/2025 10:22

@FedUpToTheBackTooththank you for articulating what I was struggling to. I also love Sunday breakfast but this post left me feeling a bit Hmm

Agreed. I don't have an ill child but I was wondering if it was just me or this seemed a bit disordered. Maybe it's normal? Either way enjoy OP. And those who are having a Spoons fry-up and eat weekday breakfast too - enjoy also!

Seems fine to me and a lot of projecting.. we are family where 3 out of 4 don’t eat breakfast normally. All very healthy and fit. I really don’t see the problem. Food is fuel for your bodies and different bodies need different amounts. I always exercise fasted and don’t eat my breakfast until 10am+ it’s been brilliant for me maintaining a healthy body weight in my 50s. My teens & DH naturally don’t like eating in the morning but eat when hungry and all fit and healthy. Enjoy your lovely breakfast OP we like a treat Sunday late breakfast too I’ve just eaten mine after long dog walk & Seaswim.

Trumpthecant · 24/08/2025 10:33

Sounds bloody awful. Sunday breakfast for us is a full Scottish.

BallerinaRadio · 24/08/2025 10:35

We have very different definitions of a feast.

I'd swap... Well everything on your plate for some sausage, bacon, egg, beans, tomatoes, hash browns and toast. Now that's a Sunday breakfast.

I think you are missing the point. It is the fact that she felt she had to qualify her perfectly normal breakfast with the fact that she doesn’t normally eat breakfast and won’t eat again until the evening. Would you feel the need to mention that if you posted what you had for breakfast?

Disordered eating can also manifest in eating three times a day (and the rest) because of habit/being taught this is normal rather than responding to hunger cues and only eating when your body genuinely needs food.

as an adult I’ve had to unlearn what I was taught as a child about eating three meals regardless of whether I’m hungry. It turns out I’m not actually hungry until 11am and then again about 4. I do get the urge to eat as soon as I wake up but I’ve realised that’s actually just my body adjusting to being awake and if I don’t eat immediately it passes in about 20 minutes. If I do eat I end up sending my blood sugar haywire and then it’s up and down all day. If I eat at 11 and 4 I don’t feel the need to eat at any other point. My blood sugar remains stable, as does my weight and I have loads of energy.

people should be free to listen to what their bodies actually need.

A slice of bread an egg and some berries. Oh and some yogurt.

After the gym of course and you won't eat for another 9 hours.

Wow what wanton luxury your Sunday morning are ! I'm sure we all aspire to this ....

🙄

CountryQueen · 24/08/2025 11:00

Keto granola and rooibos?

What in the generation alpha is this shite?

IMissSparkling · 24/08/2025 11:04

You can keep your bogging fancy breakfast. I had some toast and a banana. I'll eat again at lunchtime, like a normal person.

Catterbat · 24/08/2025 11:05

I prefer a bacon buttie with my Sunday cup of smug, but whatever.

mbosnz · 24/08/2025 11:07

I love our Sunday breakfast! It's at the other end of the health spectrum. DD is home from uni', and made us breakfast in bed - waffles with whipped cream, blueberries and maple syrup. Yum. . . I was ever so good, I only had one. . .

Enigma54 · 24/08/2025 11:07

Why is this in AIBU?

Had to chuckle at this 🤣

Jellycatspyjamas · 24/08/2025 11:10

I made jam donut muffins for breakfast along with a coffee with cream. And I’ll be eating at lunchtime too (homemade soup with cranberry and walnut bread). And I’ll have dinner too (pork Milanese). I love lazy Sunday food.

So good it posted twice 🐷

Enigma54 · 24/08/2025 11:13

Let’s see now, what could I have? I’m on chemo so my digestive system is fucked. I’m going to have white toast and marmite, some strawberries and yoghurt and a packet of barbecue hula hoops. Lunch will be a few hours later, probably a fish paste sandwich and a cream cake! Yum!

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 24/08/2025 11:13

It’s not my kind of breakfast but each to their own. Mentioning you don’t usually have breakfast is fine- lots of people don’t eat until lunchtime.

Onleemoi · 24/08/2025 11:13

“It’s the best way to start the day” but only does it once a week.

xxxwd · 24/08/2025 11:14

How the fuck is this fancy? Eggs and bread? Yoghurt and granola? I’m sure it’s lovely (if you are into the show off smug bastard cuisine) but it’s hardly extravagant is it.
