To think Sunday breakfast is the best?

DH and I make it a point of having a fancy breakfast every Sunday.

We don’t eat breakfast the other 6 days so when we get back from the gym on Sunday morning we have a feast 😁

Today we’re having eggs with Dillon keto bread. Greek yoghurt with berries and keto granola sprinkled over. DH will have coffee and I’ll have Rooibos.

Its the best day for a lavish breakfast and we won’t need to eat until dinner tonight!

Someone saying they don’t usually eat breakfast does not cause someone else to have an eating disorder. The amount of projection on this thread is insane.

Fasting until lunchtime is perfectly normal for lots of people and has been since the dawn of time. It doesn’t even need to be called fasting.

If this had been posted on one of the diet support threads it would have gone down better.

Its just odd to start a thread drawing folks in to chat about about your glorious Sunday breakfast only to describe your keto lettuce leaf feast after going to the gym, and now you wont eat till next Tuesday type stuff.

Bit jarring and weird that's all.

“It’s the best way to start the day” but only does it once a week.

And it's not starting the day if they've already been to the gym

Seriously, posts like this cause eating disorders. My daughter is seriously ill with an eating disorder and it’s because of crap like this. You don’t eat breakfast on 6 days - why did you need to mention that? Because people take some strange pride in disordered eating. Also you won’t eat until tonight because you had some yoghurt and a slice of keto bread? Unless you are really struggling with your weight or extremely inactive that’s just ridiculous.

Please can people stop thinking that showing off about starving yourselves deserves a trophy.

You could have made this post about your breakfast without all the comments about missing meals. Maybe they indicate that you have a poor relationship with food?

It’s the usual competitive under-eating on here. It makes them feel good about themselves to tell everyone how little they eat and how “healthy” the little that they do eat. This one gave herself bonus points for her keto references.

And you’re right, it’s dangerous to have such a poor relationship with food. That you have to congratulate yourself for under-eating. Everyone is quick to lambast a poster who, in their opinion, over eats or who dares to mention they had a Big Mac. But all the “huns” congratulate each other and put each other on pedestals for eating a “lavish” slice of bread and an egg. You couldn’t even make it up.

To get back to the original question “is Sunday breakfast the best?” Considering you only eat one breakfast a week, and it’s on Sundays, it’s an odd question. It’s the only breakfast you know so it’s both the best and the worst,

Only on MN would there be such a number of mean-spirited arseholes ready to rip someone to shreds for being happy... Absolutely embarrassing.
OP, I'm on a massive weight loss journey too, and now find real pleasure out of simple, nourishing food. It makes my soul happy that I no longer feel the need to ram as much fatty shit as possible down my trap to feel "happy" so I'm with you!

I think your daughters illness is making you extra sensitive. I'm 22 stone and eating a nice brekkie at the weekend means I don't eat til tea (some call it dinner) time. I also know other overweight people who don't eat breakfast.

Perfectly put.

Op, you enjoy your lovely weekend breakfasts. They sound delightful and it's the simple pleasures like this that make life more bearable.

I prefer a bacon buttie with my Sunday cup of smug, but whatever

I had a potato waffle with an egg on. Might eat a satsuma now for the healthy bit.
Probably won't need to eat now till Tuesday.

Potato waffle with egg. Heaven. I want it!

Absolutely. Some proper twats on here sometimes.

I love a cooked Sunday brekkie
Sausages, bacon, fried egg, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns and toast.
Food of the gods

Gladysknightjustwalkinmyshoes · 24/08/2025 18:52
