Cuppa Tea!

So just a little lightheartedness on this drab Sunday morning in the West Mids šŸ™‚ā˜”ļø

I’d like to know your morning brew! And also to know if you have a favourite cup, brand of tea and if you have a pic to upload even better! (My guilty secret is teacup/mug hoarder šŸ˜…).

So my fave cup is a V&A Alice in wonderland decorated with gold leaf no less! Ridiculously costed but I had a voucher so all good. Fave tea is loose leaf Yorkshire and as you’ll see from my pic, I like it strong!

@CinnamonCinnabar ooh yes thanks that’s a perfect match for my cup - don’t be enabling me though, I’m meant to be in recovery! šŸ˜…

This always makes me smile, but I'm an Earl Grey drinker myself, so no milk for me!

Oh I'll stick the kettle on.

Whichever cup is clean suits me fine....

Tea please, milk no sugar for me!

Katemax82 · 20/07/2025 10:09

My son keeps buying new mugs but I stick to these plain white ones he got from home bargains. My least favourite are these easter ones he got with bunnies built into the handle that stick out and hit me in the glasses! My favourite tea is sainsburys red label extra strong, strong, milky and no sugar. My husband only really drinks tassimo Americano so never makes me a tea but my son does

LittlleMy · 20/07/2025 10:11

@ColinCaterpillarsNo1Fan Bone China keeps the tea stay hotter for longer

I did not know that!

bone china cup

I bought this "breakfast mug" (who knew that was even a thing?) at Kensington Palace because I love the shape. I use it for the first cup at the weekend or an oversize cup and saucer but that's in the dishwasher. I have a pot-bellied mug for weekday mornings which keeps tea hot while I'm getting ready.

I'm very fussy about which mug I use in the mornings but I'm less precious in the evening. Not least because all my many mugs pass [my] muster šŸ™‚

Yorkshire Tea. No sugar. Strong but a bit more milk than you'd think.

How nice that so many are responding to you idea OP, thanks.
My first cup of the day is milky but strong Tetley, 2 bags in small pot. Mug is decorated with Charlecote Bird.
Used to get up early, insomnia and wfh. Answering email at 6.00am. I needed that tea.

Tweakie123 · 20/07/2025 10:20

Yorkshire tea, any mug as long as its china. Also brought to me in bed this morning by my lovely DH

LittlleMy · 20/07/2025 10:22

And if anyone were in any doubt of my commitment to all things tea, the pic below is of a collectors cup I use to store snacks in and always attracts comments. I keep it in the corner of my (luckily, for now anyway) large kitchen!

Enormous mug (think joke sized, usually with a male slogan such as ā€˜big daddy’, no SportDirect isn’t big enough), of tetleys, allowed to brew slightly too long, with a healthy glug of milk, being made 20 mins before I intend to drink it by DH. I’ll v often have the same before bed too.

In the office I will usually have a Stanley cup of mint tea (any brand) which seems far more acceptable ..

BlueandPinkSwan · 20/07/2025 10:24

Photo taken from another source but this is my tea mug for the piggie fans out there.šŸ˜

Mine is Asda Extra Special Colombian instant, using my Salter milk frother jug.
They manufacture for hotel chocolates and it’s the same as their velvetiser

Enjoy your Cuppa

Tworedgeraniums · 20/07/2025 10:28

Im a Yorkshire tea lass through and through and has to ideally be in a Poppy Treffry mug, I’ve been collecting them for years since finding her shop locally (unfortunately now closed, but she’s still online). Im currently sipping tea from my most recent purchase of St Michael’s Mount mug. (When DSis comes to stay I hide them all as she’s chipped and broken so much on my china I don’t trust her with it anymore).

LittlleMy · 20/07/2025 10:29

@uncomfortablydumb60 that does sound and look good šŸ™‚
