Cuppa Tea!

So just a little lightheartedness on this drab Sunday morning in the West Mids šŸ™‚ā˜”ļø

I’d like to know your morning brew! And also to know if you have a favourite cup, brand of tea and if you have a pic to upload even better! (My guilty secret is teacup/mug hoarder šŸ˜…).

So my fave cup is a V&A Alice in wonderland decorated with gold leaf no less! Ridiculously costed but I had a voucher so all good. Fave tea is loose leaf Yorkshire and as you’ll see from my pic, I like it strong!

I have many tea mugs and cups that I love for different reasons. Happen to be drinking tea from this chicken mug right now, as I inspect my garden after the very welcome rain last night.

It’s not my favourite but my dd bought it for me from a supermarket when she was 6, she’s now a teenager! So I like to use it. I also love keeping hens so have a lot of hen-themed drinking vessels!

My favourite tea is Clipper Organic breakfast tea, in the afternoon I switch to decaf. or earl grey.

I live in France now, so visitors must bring a box of tea with them or they are not allowed to stay!Smile

Twinings English Breakfast Tea in my M&S Nautical Puffin Mug (milk, no sugar).

My son travels a lot so he brings me back lots of mugs

When I retired my two colleagues gave me a mug with "Off you fuck" on it as that was a favourite phrase of ours.
I have to be careful which visitors I give it to šŸ˜…

The best way of making green tea imo is to pour enough boiling water over the bag to cover it, then chuck out that water and fill the cup with fresh water. That gets rid of the bitterness, but gives a bit more flavour than just dipping the bag. You can do the same with loose-leaf green tea if you use an infuser or one of those cup-shaped mesh things that sit inside your cup.

Interesting tip - will give it a go thanks!

Anyone on their early tea to start the week?

I like a big mug. Not sports direct big as it goes cold but big chunky bottom. Can’t post pic as laid up recovering from an op and my husband has taken it away now. Normally (when not bed bound like I am now) I’m first up and get myself 2 brews. One in a flask and one in my favourite mug. I pour the flask one into the mug after I finish the first so it’s still hot but not in a flask as flasks taste weird. Yorkshire Gold all the way and strong

First tea at 7am when I was woken up by two paws on my arm and a wet nose in my face!

Tea rules for me:

has to be one step down from scalding (lukewarm tea is awful)
has to be made in a pot (teabag mashed against mug is NOT TEA)
has to brew properly (see above)
tea first, then milk, then splash of tea to avoid first sips being too chilled by milk
no such thing as 'too many mugs'.
