Hello All,

Just seeing if any current parents can tell me if the vast majority of kids at Teddies thrive academically. I have heard this from current parents and students.

In the Other Place Teddies are academic (fingers crossed the link works).

Don't be fooled. Pink Pauline's not as innocent as you think.

They might not get violin lessons from Yogi Bear-ma anymore, but at least my little teddies are still getting a solid state education:

Subjects include:

  • Food Tech – specialising in marmalade sandwiches and bear claws (both pastry and practical).
  • Clawculus – with extra scratch paper, naturally.
  • Paw-litical Studies – covering left wing, right wing, and the constitutional right to bear arms.
  • Fur-eign Languages – “Bonjour, je suis un ours.”
  • Bear-dramatics – featuring the greats: MacBear, Much Ado About Growling, and the masterpawce… The Bear-y Wives of Windsor.
  • Bear-itish Literature – from Paddington’s Diaries to Of Bears and Men, with in-depth study of Roald Pawl and Winnie the Pooh-stmodernism.
  • Growl-ography – tracking salmon streams and picnic sites using only instinct and paw-prints.
  • Paw-sical Education – dodgeball, tree climbing, and competitive honey-pot wrestling (helmets optional).

🤣🤣🤣

What about his bedsheets? How often are they washed?

😂

Who is the target market for this delightful ensemble?

Pink Pauline by the sounds of it! @Shetlands can probably confirm.

(I still say free her though)

BeanQuisine · 04/07/2025 01:11

Exam results are purely academic if you have this Teddy's kind of money.

Crying at the comments 😂😂😂
12 pages in and still have no idea what the OP was referring to though! 🤷‍♀️😂

Teddies? Not with their school tie. Yah, yah, Timbo and I went hunting one of those furry bastards once. [Rambles….. makes squeaky noise] Bloody big one. Had to go through the long grass in the paddock on Timbo’s estate, [Snorts] dreadful mess. Ticks! Everywhere. [rambles] Took PA’s shotgun, waded through the river, [rambles…:snorts] Bloody big snowstorm! Can’t bloody go over it! [Rambles….does Yeti impression], bloody thing chased us home! Ha! Stairs you see, can’t climb them. [rambles, snorts].I’m afraid I was very, very drunk.

CBA to read the whole thread but presume this is about King Edwards in Oxford (teddies). Met three from there. Two absolute crushing boorish twats and one lovely, sensitive and thoughtful. All doing pretty well academically. I’m in my late 30s though so may have changed.

Why should you being in your late 30s change their academic success?

Those who are not with us are against us!

Yes, she's been in that cupboard since before there was decimalisation and when the UK used to regularly win Eurovision. She's going to need a lot of care. Give generously.

Love the gold hubcaps. That's aspiration - look and weep, Comp kids!

VoulezVouz · 04/07/2025 06:54

Not that I’ve found. My teddies spent too much time drinking (at tea parties, but it did take away from algebra).

FluffykinsTheFerociousFeralFelineFury · 04/07/2025 06:59

My teddy was invited to take tea with the late Queen, and now has statues to him in several major cities.

Ooh, the film star? Please tell him I love his movies.

All my teddies are really smart and one of them (the koala) even wrote a song.

To be fair she was just asking a question. It would have been better off in the Education section though.

ETA I have no idea what Teddies is, but I’m
sure some people on here will!

Edited

To be fair OP would have been better off just explaining what the chuffin hell Teddies are if they aren't Teddies.

I think it was a grammatical error too?
"Does Teddies.... " would have meant it was clear op was talking about an organisation
Whereas "do Teddies" made it clear that op was concerned about the academic ability of the children of cuddly toys.

Yes I can’t argue with that

Ah, I think it's a case of being "in the know".

Good point.

I meant to quote @RefreshingMist there.

Weekly, I assure you. The 13 year old himself has reached the obsessive teenage hygiene stage, too. He just loves his festering Monkey.

I'm glad you got the crossover reference. I too have a festering 80 year old teddy. Best wishes
