Anyone else? I tuned in last night and couldn't believe how bad it was! 1975 was headlining and it was so middle or the road.

Maybe I'm getting old but the music was awful!!! So bland. Im early 40s 🤣

What are your thoughts?

I remember watching a documentary called "I hate the 1960s," in which various historians and social commentators blamed the '60s for everything that's wrong with modern Britain. It was slightly tongue in cheek, but only slightly. One of them said "For the first time in history, people believed that spotty, ignorant, semi-literate teenagers have profound and interesting things to teach us. They don't."

Sums up Glastonbury for me.

BlueEyedBogWitch · 29/06/2025 16:47

Pretty sure that’s his daughter Ruby singing.

cannotbetooarsed · 29/06/2025 16:47

Rod Stewart is bloody awesome...am at work so feeling sad I can only see snippets! His voice is still pretty good for a guy knocking 80.
Nike Rodgers later,my two favourite artists ever.

Is that a threat?

Saw Lulu when she was a surprise guest with Robbie Williams…

  1. didn’t think she was still alive
  2. oh, the voice has GONE. Couldn’t make out a word she was saying (despite it being Relight My Fire) nor did she have the power to give anything any welly
Superhansrantowindsor · 29/06/2025 16:51

Can’t stand Lulu. Any interview she ever gives she bursts into ‘song’ although I’d call it screeching.

I'm more frothed by a rapper shouting death to the idf than any stories hamas tells us tbh.

What about Rod, any good in your opinion?

Rod is a vision in fuschia and I loved the homage to Christine Mc Vie. At this stage I think he’s less a guilty pleasure and more just a pleasure

Rod is amazing. 80! His voice hasn't changed at all.

Yes because it was dire 50 years ago too.

Gloriia · 29/06/2025 16:36

I wish his backing singers had been a bit older, not necessarily 80 but it seems a bit unseemly wiggling away with such young ladies.

I think they’re brilliant-a great change from the insipid young female vocalists like Gracie Abrahms etc.

WillowTit · 29/06/2025 16:53

Most of the singers musicians with rod Stewart do look older imo
Really enjoying rod Stewart, more than I thought I would

The fuschia is brave. I'd be worried about sweat patches it looks very hot up there.

Notouchingmybhuna · 29/06/2025 16:59

Real music at last. Knocks the attention seeking crap from yesterday out of the park!

Had the misfortune to witness her disgusting behaviour towards retail and waiting staff a couple of times (in Marylebone). She is one ugly unpleasant diva.

the80sweregreat · 29/06/2025 17:10

I do not like Lulu, but Mick was great and now it’s Ronnie. It’s the 70s again

Thegreyhound · 29/06/2025 17:10

Don’t think much of Mick Hucknall but his voice is so good. Not so much Lulu

the80sweregreat · 29/06/2025 17:13

I always liked Mick hucknall
Stars was a great album

BlueEyedBogWitch · 29/06/2025 17:13

Oh fuck it’s Lulu.

BlueEyedBogWitch · 29/06/2025 17:14

Didn’t she shag Jason Orange?

Notouchingmybhuna · 29/06/2025 17:15

She looks amazing at 76!

Pedallleur · 29/06/2025 17:15

Hot Legs!! Bet he doesn't sing the original lyrics about being pussy whipped and his daddy.
Young women in his band? Imagine that. He enjoys the eye candy. All a bit cabaret

NooNakedJacuzziness · 29/06/2025 17:18

Lulu looks amazing

Notouchingmybhuna · 29/06/2025 17:19

Best act all weekend 😃

Fair play, I wouldn’t kick him out of bed

I was there too. For @RampantIvy@RitaAndFrankand @abnerbrownsdressinggownit was bloody brilliant. Although the crush was so bad that some poor girl was airlifted out. And the only reason I survived the front row was that there was a lovely posh boy from Bath with his arms locked on the barricade either side of me. Bless him.

<sigh> those were the days.

Luckily I was standing further back - that sounds so scary.
I remember Robert Smith’s really ineffective attempts to get the crowd to move back for the helicopter.

Were you at the James set where all the crowd sat down for ‘Sit Down’?
That was fun! 😆

Astrabees · 29/06/2025 17:29

Just been watching Rod and can't really agree. His band, the dancers, the violinists, every device possible in play to conceal that it is really a bit too much for him. I was getting worried during the last bit where he was in the pink suit, he looked quite unwell and very breathless. He isn't really putting a lot of emotion into it, just singing the words (not always very well). If you look at the early songs with The Faces on Youtube the singing and delivery are quite expressive and emotive but the backing is a bit crap, it's the other way round now.
