Anyone else? I tuned in last night and couldn't believe how bad it was! 1975 was headlining and it was so middle or the road.

Maybe I'm getting old but the music was awful!!! So bland. Im early 40s 🤣

What are your thoughts?

So by definition the US attacks on Iran and the Israeli attacks on Gaza must be Islamophobic because they wish death to the relevant forces. Really?

There are differences between race, religion and nationality and conflating them only ever causes problems - it turns every war into a race/religion war.

I'm talking about the law as it applies to individuals potentially committing offences in this country. Its not the same for foreign government actions in other countries.

I don't think kneecap actually incited violence at Glastonbury though did they, they've learnt their lesson and stuck to 'fuck Starmer' which is very tame by their standards. Their fans must be very proud at how quickly they capitulated.

You clearly didn't watch or hear them or read all the reports. Sticking to your own narrative and obsession with Kneecap.
No learning!
No capitulation!
No croppy laid down!

I'm in my late 60s and am enjoying it. Wet Leg, Self Esteem, CMAT, Blossoms, Jarel Ngonga, Gracie Abrams, Inhaler and Franz Ferdinand....and that was just yesterday.
But we regularly go to gigs, arent stuck in 1979 and listen to new music

So cool

I'm not obsessed with them they are being discussed on a thread about Glastonbury, I didnt see them as they weren't streamed.

We do know they have learnt their lesson and didn't wave terrorist flags and call for death to MPs, so that's good. They have indeed capitulated. They know which side their bread is buttered.

I'm not frothing, please try and debate without your insults. I'm outraged by the atrocities committed by hamas and equally outraged by silly people like kneecap and vylan pretending they know wtf they are on about.

the80sweregreat · 29/06/2025 12:29

Usually the ‘ tea time ‘ slot on Sunday is just a band with an older singer doing the ‘old hits’ at Glastonbury. If Rod sticks to this I’m sure it’ll be fine for that slot.
He was told to do ‘ sweet Caroline’ at the platinum jubilee and didn’t want to ( apparently) but he may have more control over this set?
If I were there I’d only want the old hits tbh. I don’t know any of his new songs.

ScribblingPixie · 29/06/2025 12:43

I heard he was going to some Faces stuff - maybe with Ron Wood.

SweetcornFritter · 28/06/2025 17:33

You’ll be standing in the field on your own then (apart from a few sheep maybe). It’s not on next year.

Perhaps that is the best way to experience it 😆

He was saying death to the IDF because they are Jewish, that is inciting hate and violence. Notice how he didn’t say death to hamas.

He's an attention seeking wanker I hope he gets arrested although that's probably what he wants to be some kind of Glasto martyr. All the flag wavers would love it.

Yes. And it will be interesting to see if he gets arrested for chanting his hateful rant. Shame on the BBC for broadcasting it.

My husband was there in a work capacity in the Covid year where they had no audience but recorded bands playing and he said it was his favourite festival experience ever 😄

But not outraged by the IDF? That says a lot about you, I am afraid. Most decent people I know are outraged by both sets of murderers.

I don't think the pp is 'frothing'. Emily Eavis / Glastonbury have made a statement on not wanting incitement to violence or hatred at the festival.

Sweetpea59 · 29/06/2025 13:17

Pulp we're brilliant though ❤️

Yes I’m sure everyone in the field was inspired and incited to immediately go and cause the death of the IDF 🙄

It's not a narrative to acknowledge one has indeed been charged with a terror offence. It's simply a fact.

From what I understand nothing similar was repeated at Glastonbury so they've toned it down and clearly learnt their lesson.

If that's what you're after you won't get it at Glastonbury. The organisers don't want it.

Where is the joy?! Think maybe there’s some grumpy old types on this thread…. 😆

Always have total fomo for glasto.
Would love to see en vogue, Alanis, Joy Crookes, Raye, Celeste, The Prodigy, Groove Armada, Self Esteem, - the atmosphere there is like nothing else. Long live tye magic of festivals! 🎉🎉🎉✨✨✨🤩🤩🤩🎪🏕️

Not all old people are grumpy...

OH nooooo - Neil Young is tanking according to all here - I thought he 'went out to grass' years ago. At least he's alive and tries and his songs live forever and nothing will ever take that away.

Kneecap - it's hard to see if they are truly anarchic (not that the Pistols actually were) and when it all quitens down I'll give their tunes a listen.

Anyways - it's not Anarchy in the UK - just a fucking break from the mediocrity that nearly all seem subscribed to.

Neil young was brilliant!

AhBiscuits · 29/06/2025 13:32

Watching Celeste now. Its dreary as fuck.
Who wants to listen to this shite at a festival? Jesus, I feel like I want to top myself.

aneelli · 29/06/2025 13:36

@Gloriia bc I’m sure hamas is all dead now, they wiped the whole of Gaza, they-were there on foot the idf twats, where exactly do you think hamas can run and hide. The idf isn’t fighting hamas, they are fighting the Palestinian people, innocent women and children! So yes death to those motherfers. And don’t you dare refer to them as Jewish!!!! How insulting to the Jewish faith, this is not in their teaching!!! Israelis and Jews are not the same!!!

Was good seeing Lewis Capaldi

Ezra Collective are my favourites so far

Neil Young utterly dreadful. Pretty much everything else I’ve seen so far not too far behind NY in the dreadful stakes

As mentioned elsewhere, this is the first year I don’t have FOMO

Neil Young was wonderful!
