Iran - full evacuation of Tehran?

Fitasafiddle1 · 17/06/2025 04:18

Genuinely finding it hard to sleep now having seen the news that Tehran - a population of 10 million are being urgently advised to leave. Is anyone else feeling very concerned (and nervous) watching what is now taking place in the ME? It is being reported that Israel have ‘full ariel control’ of Iran?

So are you also calling out the ongoing genocides in Darfur, Yemen, and those involving the Tigray, Rohingya, and Uyghur?

Or is it just the Israelis you have a problem with?

The issue that I have a problem with, is that the UK govt is supporting Israel as it continues to murder Gazan children. I detest that. Maybe I have missed it but I have not seen the UK government support the genocides you mentioned?

I am not sure Israel are setting out to ‘murder children’ and we have to remember that there are also murdered babies and children that were Israeli. The government in the U.K. has called for calm, what more would you like to see them do?

The people of Iran deserve better than their current leader, Netanyahu and Trump. They’re all callous bastards.

Yep. I will add the leader of Hamas to that. They are all disgusting men and I hope they and their supporters rot in hell.

There are a heck of a lot more dead babies in Gaza than Israel though. Israel doesn’t give a toss how many children they kill. They don’t really think of Palestinians as human beings. I don’t really see a difference between Iran and Israel anymore. They are both rogue nations and I don’t think the Israelis should have access to nuclear weapons either unless they see sense and elect a new moderate government.

Can you list peaceful democratic Islamic nations in the ME please? Not autocratic dictatorships but ones that offer democracy, human rights and tolerance?

This is the precise definition of whataboutery. Are you suggesting Israeli regime practices human rights and tolerance? The last time I checked, all international bodies were calling them out for their genocidal murderous actions.

What a disingenuous response. The UK government has clearly declared its support for Israel more than once. Not just called for calm 🙄 Have you seen it declare its support for the aggressors in Yemen and Sudan?

The U.K. government was also about to announce a ban on Israeli ministers right when the Israeli regime started this war.

Can you name one ME country that has a PM that cannot come to the U.K. for a fear of arrest?

Also, it is not just the U.K. Netenyahu is now wanted in LOADS of countries. I am talking about non-Muslim countries by the way.

They're a city state - OK 'territory' - of 2 million people with no way of supporting themselves. Even the sea is controlled by Israel. So it's not surprising they're unemployed - so would everyone be in Dubai (for example) if the UAE Royal family didn't have billions and billions of dirhams to throw at it. The Middle East was historically very poor before oil was found. It's not surprising that Gazans blame Israel for their poverty - and what solution does Hamas actually have? Gaza has no access to farming or minerals or forest, so nothing to manufacture. I suppose they could create a services-based industry but they'd be competing against, well, us for that. Also this problem has existed long before Hamas came to power.

You need to read the history of the area.

When Israel occupied Gaza from 1967 until 2005 they had a booming market gardening and floristry business. They exported fruit & veg all over the world.

Israel pulled out in 2005 after international pressure was brought to bear.

Then the Palestinians looted the greenhouses. They used some of the irrigation pipes as rocket launchers to attack Israel.

See this from 2005 - https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna9331863

Looters strip Gaza greenhouses

Palestinians looted dozens of greenhouses on Tuesday, walking off with irrigation hoses, water pumps and plastic sheeting in a blow to fledgling efforts to reconstruct the Gaza Strip.

I can’t think of any ME government I support either. People are so binary on here.

Or may be people are asking objective questions and requiring proof for claims?

Which ME government or autocracy or whatever has a warrant on its PM’s name so he can’t put his foot in the U.K.?

UK is supporting Israel's right to defend itself.

And please stop banging on about "genocides", and other emotive rhetoric.

Writing hysterical posts doesn't help the debate.

It's ok, Trump has demanded Iran's unconditional surrender and said they won't kill their leader "for now." Bet that's gone down well. Guardian live, in case anyone thinks I'm making it up.

The number of missiles coming over in Israel's direction seems to have reduced considerably, so it looks like they are running out of steam.

Israel has removed most of the leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, so they are on the back foot now.

You are just using this term as you support Israel. They have gone far beyond a reasonable response to the attack on 7th October now and most people recognise that. What they are doing in Gaza is the very definition of genocide and ethnic cleansing. The world SHOULD be hysterical
about that quite rightly!

It is not disingenuous. I am not here to defend the government, I’m here to discuss what is happening.

You seem to be alluding to the idea that Gaza and Hamas are mere victims of Iraeli violence when you know this isn’t true. It’s a war not genocide. They are completely different.

Yes, and Iran has been bankrolling Hamas and Hezbollah as proxies to attack Israel, so they bought this on themselves

I would really appreciate it if you didn’t put words in my mouth. I have never ever described Hamas as victims. I have just posted that the leader of Hamas should rot in hell. Hamas doesn’t care about Palestinians anymore than that Netanyahu and his followers do. Read before you post, thanks.
