I don’t understand all the initials used on mumsnet.

i guess DD is direct daughter?

then there’s so many others.

anyone care to help this clueless mumsnetter?

It’s MN-speak. I’ve been on Mumsnet since 2003 and these abbreviations have been used on here for at least that long. It’s part of the MN experience and honestly not hard to remember.

A lot of the abbreviations pre date MN, they are general internet ones. Some are specific but DH, MIL etc are all over

It can be either, but I didn't want to complicate things, and "dear" was shorter to type. 😄
