Relatively lighthearted as I probably won’t say anything but… sitting here with a cup of tea staring at it.

YABU - it’s fine
YANBU - annoying

Um what eyesore?
The fence?
Blue sky?
What looks like the outline of a dead body on your lawn?

BoyDoIMissSecrets · 03/05/2025 16:27

Why on Earth would anyone say anything about a neighbour planting trees to screen their property? They’re hardly leylandii.

WickWood · 03/05/2025 16:28

When the plants grow it'll look much better than looking at the bricks!

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 03/05/2025 16:28

Are you objecting to being able to see your neighbours trees? Surely not?!

Or is the fence? Or the dead/scorched spot in the lawn?

WhiteCloudd · 03/05/2025 16:28

The screening plants? I like them.

Whitelotus5 · 03/05/2025 16:28

Hahaha the dead body is a paddling pool outline. It’s just because they’ve gone up today, I think it’ll look better when they grow in.

Yes you’ve got the ugly side of the fence and you’re right, it is a bit of an eyesore.

You should plant some climbers to pretty it up a bit like your neighbours have done.

JoyousEagle · 03/05/2025 16:29

You probably won’t say anything? I’m assuming you’re talking about the trellis things? Why would you say anything?

In the nicest possible way, they’re not blocking out an otherwise picturesque landscape view. And they probably want to grow something to make them feel less overlooked.

Onelifeonly · 03/05/2025 16:29

Yes, your garden looks pretty dull. Bare fence and not completely green grass. It is not a vision of beauty. 🤣

ShapedLikeAPastry · 03/05/2025 16:29

What are we supposed to be getting annoyed about? The plants next door? Don't blame them, that fence is ugly as fuck.

HowToSaveAWife · 03/05/2025 16:30

Your fence is more of an eyesore than the trellis. Do you like to complain OP?

Whitelotus5 · 03/05/2025 16:30

Aw AIBU not disappointing today 😂😂

fuckislessoffensivethanpardon · 03/05/2025 16:31

The pleached trees? Whose fence is it?

Whitelotus5 · 03/05/2025 16:31

@HowToSaveAWife it’s my favourite thing ever 🥰

OP posts:
Cerialkiller · 03/05/2025 16:31

They are pleached trees, the framing is just to encourage sideways grown and will be gone once they have reached full size in a year or two.

The final look will be similar to a thin line of hedging assuming the maintain them properly.

Whitelotus5 · 03/05/2025 16:32

And yeah I was referring to the 4 giant trellis’s that popped up today - genuinely lighthearted, I realise they will look better when they’ve grown in.

OP posts:
Moveoverdarlin · 03/05/2025 16:33

They cost an absolute fortune and will look great when they grow. Not an eyesore in any sense. I thought it was going to be a burnt out car.

You won’t be anywhere as near as overlooked when they grow.

KIlliePieMyOhMy · 03/05/2025 16:36

Do you not like plants OP?

ThirdStorm · 03/05/2025 16:38

They’ll definitely fill out, hiding the frame and be beautiful your side. I think it’s a Red Robin and they are glorious. I look out on these behind my fence.

Lindy2 · 03/05/2025 16:45

You are objecting to plants in your neighbour's garden?

Gardens are for plants. I think your side of the fence would benefit from some.

ShapedLikeAPastry · 03/05/2025 16:48

KIlliePieMyOhMy · 03/05/2025 16:36

Do you not like plants OP?

Judging by OP's garden...I think we can safely assume that's a no.

LittleGreenDragons · 03/05/2025 16:51

Yes OP, your garden is an eyesore. Don't you like flowering shrubs or pretty flowers at all?

fgwcam · 03/05/2025 16:54

I didn't know what the eyesore was supposed to be until you revealed it was those trellises. They will look ok when the plants grow over them.
However, I think your fence is really ugly and would look better with something grown up it.

Whoarethoseguys · 03/05/2025 16:55

It's a fence, there isn't anything you can say about it. If you don't like it planr something in front of it

BritishFoodFan · 03/05/2025 17:09

fuckislessoffensivethanpardon · 03/05/2025 16:31

The pleached trees? Whose fence is it?

They ain't pleached, they are espaliered!

Anyhoo, you are very wrong OP.
