It’s an Air BnB one, sorry!

Quick question.

if an Air BnB listing stated “Bath” under the “Amenities” section, what would that mean to you? What would you expect.

Will get a few responses and then explain why I am asking.

It has a bath

Arlanymor · 21/02/2025 16:04

Well presumably you would expect an actual bath - i.e not a wet room or a shower, an actual bath. It’s why estate agents go to great pains now to confirm what a bathroom comprises as these days so many don’t have a bath. The last place I live had two bathrooms but neither had a bath!

FourEyesGood · 21/02/2025 16:04

I would expect a bath.

FusionChefGeoff · 21/02/2025 16:05

There's a bath in the bathroom maybe with a shower overhead

chakrakkhan · 21/02/2025 16:05

I would expect a bathtub.

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 21/02/2025 16:05

I'd expect a bath. I'm assuming that isn't what you got?

chakrakkhan · 21/02/2025 16:05

Also to add I'd expect a bathtub in a bathroom. Not in a random bedroom window as seems popular at the moment.

Anewuser · 21/02/2025 16:06

Is Airbnb different to regular amenities then?

Surely, bath means the bathroom has a bath?

TheFlis · 21/02/2025 16:06

I would expect the property to have a usable bath, obviously. What else could it possibly mean?

Doseofreality · 21/02/2025 16:07

We expected a bath as well, currently arguing with dickhead owner as he says it means “bathing facilities”.

No bath, just a tiny shower cubicle.

He also used “dishwasher” to mean a sink.

A bath..maybe with a shower above

cariadlet · 21/02/2025 16:07

If it stated "bath" rather than "bathroom" then I'd expect an actual bath.
Many hotel rooms, Airbnb etc only have showers so it could be a selling point for guests who enjoy a relaxing soak.

festivemouse · 21/02/2025 16:08

That's 100% false advertising! Take it up with Air BnB.

A dishwasher =/= sink. Same as bath =/= washing facilities!

He's trying to over advertise to appeal to peoples popular filters!

Sounds like he's embellishing to get bookings in, and then hoping people won't make a fuss when they're there as they've already arrived by that point. I'd write it in the feedback that there's no actual bath or dishwasher, cos that would piss me off to think they're there when they're not.

False advertising - can you report to Air BnB? Pay him in Monopoly money and when he complains say: “But it’s Monopoly MONEY!” Same diff, right?!

Well that's just ridiculous!

A bath is a tub you sit in and. And a bathing facility would be something you can cover your body with water in, like A BATH!!

A shower is a washing facility and not a bathing facility.

Were there no bathroom pictures online?

If it's a deal breaker you'll need to look for alternative accommodation and then seek a refund but getting refunds on Airbnb can be tricky. Might be easier to leave a poor review to warn others.

Acc0untant · 21/02/2025 16:12

He's got some balls trying to argue... They literally have pictures.

Is the owner British? Has there been a translation problem or are they a con artist trying to make property sound better than it is?

SilvieBear · 21/02/2025 16:18

That would piss me right off, especially the dishwasher one. I specifically book self-catering properties that have dishwashers as I do not want to wash up on holiday.
Twat.
I assume he deliberately did not show full pics on the bathroom to be able to see there was no bath?
Defo report to Airbnb and put this in your review.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 This has made me laugh, Op!

AgathaX · 21/02/2025 16:19

Hopefully you won't do any washing up for the duration of your stay as there isn't a dishwasher.

Ah, that might be it, whole new language down there.....🙃

Borgonzola · 21/02/2025 16:24

This would really piss me off as I, like many others, go specifically for accommodation with a bath in order to bathe small DC. A shower is not the same!

We also don't have a dishwasher at home so tend to pick holiday places that do as a special treat!

Definitely report!
