It’s an Air BnB one, sorry!

Quick question.

if an Air BnB listing stated “Bath” under the “Amenities” section, what would that mean to you? What would you expect.

Will get a few responses and then explain why I am asking.

OP posts:
Echobelly · 23/02/2025 09:26

I'd say it has a bath tub - we prefer to have a bath tub, but we always look for it in photos rather than in the list of amenities. If I saw a listing that said bath in amenities but had a picture of bathroom that didn't show a tub, I would query.

SezFrankly · 23/02/2025 09:42

Just report him to Air bnb and demand a refund. What a twat.

Emmz1510 · 23/02/2025 10:06

Well in some contexts is shortened to mean ‘bathroom’. Like if the description of a house for sale said ‘three bed two bath’ I would know it had two bathrooms but wouldn’t necessarily assume it had bath tubs.
But having read your update it sounds like the owner is a CF.

purplehair1 · 24/02/2025 11:58

It either has a bath, or it is in Bath…

RampantIvy · 23/02/2025 09:23

Who doesn't understand why some want a bath in an airbnb? Hmm
People with young children or babies
People who love a soak in the bath

Come on 😆 . Use your imagination

I dont understand, obviously.
I have children and don't need a bath. I also don't need to soak in a bath that I don't know how clean it is and whose ass was soaking just before mine. For those reasons my imagination is in totally different direction and just is a solid no from me.

The fact you clearly don't like baths doesn't negate how easy it is to understand why others do....

RampantIvy · 24/02/2025 15:07

Seriously 😂

Using the same bonkers analogy, someone's dirty feet will have been in the shower before you.

And a bath is easy to clean. Do you really not know how to clean a bath? Really?

crankytoes · 24/02/2025 17:24

As if any placement have a freaking sink

LovelyLeitrim · 24/02/2025 17:33

MillyVannily · 23/02/2025 08:29

Who goes to a bnb to get a bath? Come on 🤣 he won't get more bookings because he mentioned there is a bath!!! The dishwasher I agree is a bit more fraudulent. Although, I wouldn't necessarily need a dishwasher while away, so that also wouldn't be bonus points for me, but I can see how it can be appealing to some people.

I do, hope that helps?

No one really cares what your view on baths is, this is not your post.

Do you ever go away? Lie in beds that have had dirty arses on them, sex fluids all over them?

At least in a bath, they’re getting washed.

You sound ridiculous with your weird views to be honest.

MarkWithaC · 24/02/2025 17:42

'bath' in the Airbnb context obviously means a bathtub, as evidenced by the picture that goes along with it.
Posters on here trying to argue otherwise are thick or are being deliberately disingenuous.
This host is taking the piss.
Have you talked to Airbnb? What do they say?

Oblomov25 · 24/02/2025 17:52

He's taking the piss, take it up with Air bnb.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 This has made me laugh, Op!

Me too, ffs that's hilarious.
What a bullshitter.
I won't touch Airbnb due to stories like this and others.
Not worth the hassle.

LivelyMintViper · 24/02/2025 17:57

Contact Airbnb. They take a dim view of this sort of thing.Ask for a partial refund

Yeah. I'd be reporting to Airbnb and getting some money back

You are funny. 🤣🤣🤣 also totally wrong.

MiddleAgedDread · 25/02/2025 07:34

Definitely report it! I’m also noticing an increasing number of properties on AirBnB with inaccurate beds listing - sleeps 4 is not the same as 4 beds! Sleeps 4 in 2 double beds is 2 beds. Drives me mad when you’re looking for properties for friends to share rooms but not beds.

Doseofreality · 21/02/2025 16:07

We expected a bath as well, currently arguing with dickhead owner as he says it means “bathing facilities”.

No bath, just a tiny shower cubicle.

He also used “dishwasher” to mean a sink.

Hell no, he's a bloody liar. We choose places with a bath and a dishwasher. DP has arthritis and finds having a bath helps him.vWe don't wash dishes by hand at home and certainly don't want to on holiday. Complain to Airbnb. What do the reviews say or is this a fairly new host/property? I'd leave and call Airbnb. False advertising.

And initially you thought I was stupid? Why?

purpleme12 · 25/02/2025 08:59

Baths are really important to me so if I booked somewhere that says it has a bath then doesn't then yes I wouldn't be happy

Diningtableornot · 25/02/2025 09:01

Bath means bathtub in the UK, I think, but this could be cultural because I've heard Americans refer to a downstairs low with basin as a 'bathroom' where there is no bath or shower.

OP said he's mancunian, it's not cultural, it's being a cheeky fucker. Plus I doubt Americans refer to sinks as dishwashers!

BerlinSky · 21/02/2025 16:09

Sounds like he's embellishing to get bookings in, and then hoping people won't make a fuss when they're there as they've already arrived by that point. I'd write it in the feedback that there's no actual bath or dishwasher, cos that would piss me off to think they're there when they're not.

Me too as I book particularly for a bathtub.
