It’s an Air BnB one, sorry!

Quick question.

if an Air BnB listing stated “Bath” under the “Amenities” section, what would that mean to you? What would you expect.

Will get a few responses and then explain why I am asking.

We rent out a property via airbnb, airbnb are very clear that bath means there is a bath tub and that dishwasher means there is a dishwasher (including table top ones).

Motomum23 · 21/02/2025 16:48

Yeah if it says bath I'd expect a bath - might be particularly important if you habe say a toddler that refuses to entertain the idea of a shower. And a sink is NOT a dishwasher - that would annoy me more as I didn't own a dishwasher until recently and the idea of holiday accommodation where I didn't have to wash dishes was really a luxury.

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 21/02/2025 16:50

What a shit! That’s got to be deliberately misleading.

Therealmetherealme · 21/02/2025 16:54

One of the reasons Air B&B will give a partial refund is for an inaccurate listing. Take photos and message them.

DoAWheelie · 21/02/2025 16:55

A toilet, sink, and a way to wash yourself, either a bath or a shower but I wouldn't assume which.

Nondintense · 21/02/2025 17:09

I often look for properties which have a bath and will choose them over those without, as we don't have one and it's a lovely treat when on holiday or weekend away. I'd be furious to find it didn't actually have one. Also the dishwasher, who wants to be handwashing dishes on a holiday.

We expected a bath as well, currently arguing with dickhead owner as he says it means “bathing facilities”.

No bath, just a tiny shower cubicle.

He also used “dishwasher” to mean a sink.

He’s a prick. Nobody would reasonably think ‘bath’ and ‘dishwasher’ could mean a shower and a sink. It’s a very misleading description and he’s 100% in the wrong.

Rawnotblended · 21/02/2025 17:33

He’s a divvy. His ratings will be shite.

Cosyblankets · 21/02/2025 17:41

Shocking
Were there no photos? No reviews?

WilliamWillow · 21/02/2025 17:57

That is very misleading of him!

Yes, I would definitely think it had a bath.

A shower really is a given - whether that be a separate one or over bath or even just an attachment but a Bath isn't. A Bath is a bath!

Dishwasher to mean sink is hilariously (sorry) stupid. It is all beyond misleading it is just plain lying really.

ImagineRainbows · 21/02/2025 18:06

Raise it with AIRBNB, if it states bath there should be a bath. Otherwise you state shower or even bathroom at a stretch which wouldn’t be clear either way.

Ellie56 · 21/02/2025 19:47

The bath is a shower and the dishwasher is a sink? Hmm

Report him to AirBNB. He is taking the piss.

Enough4me · 21/02/2025 19:50

Report to Airbnb and ask for half costs back from him. A quarter for the lack of bath and a quarter the missing dishwasher.

Houseofpainjumparound · 23/02/2025 03:52

Did you get a refund op.

Bath = tub you soak in
Dishwasher = machine that washes the dishes for you.... not the MIL at the sink

I hate when they say 3 bed when in fact it's 2 beds and a sofa bed. Technically correct but not what most look for

Lostsadandconfused · 23/02/2025 04:20

Contact airbnb, you should get a partial refund.

Take pictures.

Im an airbnb host, this is not on.

Zanatdy · 23/02/2025 04:45

I’d report to Air BnB. The dishwasher thing would really annoy me, as that might make a difference to booking one property over another. The bath also could be a reason people booked a certain property, if you have young DC for example who you’d want to bathe not shower.

Cyclebabble · 23/02/2025 05:51

He has lied on both counts and I would complain.

Changeissmall · 23/02/2025 05:52

Love to see these threads as I am very anti Airbnb. Terrible to have so many properties in some areas taken over by this poorly regulated company which allows owners to max out their income while creating misery for locals.

CarolinaWren · 23/02/2025 05:55

I would expect there to be at least one bathtub. People with small children often prefer a tub to a shower for the kids.

LovelyLeitrim · 23/02/2025 06:10

Make sure your review reflects the reality!

Justsayit123 · 23/02/2025 06:31

Complain and take videos as evidence. Owner is an imbecile.

He’s Mancunian.

Well that explains it then 🙄🙄🙄

That would be a bathroom, not a bath.

Hellohah · 23/02/2025 06:59

Zusammengebrochen · 21/02/2025 16:20

Ah, that might be it, whole new language down there.....🙃

As a Mancunian, I can confirm that bath to us does mean a fully functioning, working bath (tub, with taps, hot water and everything) 😂

Mindymomo · 23/02/2025 07:01

A sink is not a dishwasher.
A bath is a bath that you get in, lay down and put water in.
Definitely report and ask for refund, take lots of photos and make sure you do a review so other people are aware.
