And what was your results like? Did it last long? I’m getting it done soon for the first time and I can’t wait lol

I'm 33 and I'm saving up for it, as I've got my number 11s coming in 😩

TimeForSomething · 12/02/2025 19:27

35, absolutely recommend. Started with just the 11s, and now at 43 i get a little on the upper forehead too

FanofLeaves · 12/02/2025 19:28

I’m 39 and I haven’t yet. I suppose if I could afford it o probably should have done it about 3 years ago, that’s when my face started to show signs of ageing due to lack of sleep I think. Oh well 🤷🏻‍♀️

InfoSecInTheCity · 12/02/2025 19:33

Just did it for the first time for on Sunday, 11 lines and a little on the forehead. I'm 41. Starting to kick in today and I can still move my eyebrows which will hopefully last but lines are definitely softer.

Changeandchanges · 12/02/2025 19:39

Oh my goodness this a sad thread.

Is botox really the norm for so many women?
And so many young women at that?

Newbie8918 · 12/02/2025 19:41
  1. I had strong, horizontal forehead lines and very deep indents.

I am now 44. My Botox is quite subtle. I only have 2 areas. I don't treat my eye lines as I believe it freezes my face too much.

I persuaded my 33yo sister last year and she wishes she had done it sooner!

Yes.

To me, it's as normal as dying your hair.

wherearemypastnames · 12/02/2025 19:45

It isn't normal - only a very small percentage of women actually use Botox for cosmetic / none medical purposes

But it's in sone people's interests to normalise it

HubbleBubbles · 12/02/2025 19:47

40 for me, I find it lasts around 3 months, I stretch that to 4 and have it done 3 times a year. I love it!

Blahblahblah245 · 12/02/2025 19:47

41, probably should have had it sooner but I was nervous! Maybe about 38 but I know people who’ve had it earlier and it seems to prevent lines too!

backpnceagain · 12/02/2025 19:49

I find it sad too how women seem to be using more and more injections and fillers to change their appearance. Ageing is a privilege and I don't see the sense in pumping your face with anything like that. Just seems sad.

I made the decision because for the first time in my life I am successfully losing weight and very nearly in the healthy BMI range. I've been obese since I was in primary school.

Now that I'm starting to reach a point where I like the way I look I want to have a few years where my face is both not fat and not wrinkly.

Judgement of other women's choices is 'sadder' in my opinion.

Botox doesn't suddenly halt the ageing process. I still have birthdays. It's a cosmetic treatment which wears off, in the same way as using a chemical on your hair does.

Truechicken55 · 12/02/2025 19:55

26 I’m 40 now and have 3 areas every 3 months. I have no visible lines on my forehead or around the eyes and hate when it starts to wear off

festivemouse · 12/02/2025 19:56

Late 20s 😂 I love it!

drspouse · 12/02/2025 19:56

I'm judging society for valuing women with wrinkles less than younger women.
I'm in my late 50s and never will.

50 and it lasts 6 months.

Thisistotallygrim · 12/02/2025 19:58

37, just my 11 lines and a touch in the forehead. No regrets, will continue as long as my bank balance allows!

Thirteenblackcat · 12/02/2025 19:59

forty was my first time. Mine lasts about 5 months. I get my crows feet and 11ses done. Love it, dont knock it until you’ve tried it

MalleusMaleficarumm · 12/02/2025 19:59

Good for you OP, when I’ve finished breastfeeding I will be getting it too!

Not surprised to see the usual judgmental comments from people so early on about what other women choose to do to their faces…it’s not your face so why do you care!

What about society judging bald men?

There's an increasing trend for men to have hair transplants which in some cases involves surgery!

I can list a whole host of beauty standards that both males and females are subject to but nothing seems to evoke as much judgment as Botox on MN 🤷‍♀️

Blev2022 · 12/02/2025 20:01

36, get 11s done. Every 4 months

Honestly, nothing makes me angrier than women judging other women!

ahdlfj · 12/02/2025 20:02

36, just planning on doing a couple of times a year to try to delay things a little...hoping starting early means less regularity needed down the line....we'll see. Can afford it, don't see what the harm is, it's not regular enough to create any kind of permanent frozen look.
