This.
My daughter (not known for her tact!) said to me earlier to say on walk home from school. "Mum, that lady is very old" pointing to a lady on our street. I as mortified and told her that was rude and she shouldn't say it. She said to me "but why mummy, old means wise, and it means she has had time to love lots of people, she is beautiful as she knows lots and has loved lots". It's funny how we see ageing as a negative, when it's actually a privilege.

Aye right

Aye right

and then they went home, and baked a cake out of rainbows, and gave a piece to everyone in their street so they could all be happy…🤣🤣

Sorry but I do find it sad that women feel they should inject toxin into their bodies to look younger. I certainly don't, nor do I dye my hair, nor wear make up day to day. I'm 51, people think I'm younger than I am,

This sounds like one of those spammy videos that are on Facebook or Tiktok with inspirational music and an AI voice reading them out. LOL

35, every 6 months or so. I'm nearly 50 and am reliably informed I pass for 38.

And? Please, don't be sad for me! I enjoy every penny I spend on my hair, face and body! I don't want to embrace the ageing process when I don't have to.

HeyThereDelila · 12/02/2025 21:41

What a depressing thread.

Please don’t normalise pumping your face full of poison.

Bully for you.

Mum2jenny · 12/02/2025 21:42

Never, don’t understand injecting a poison into your body. Just why?
Everyone gets older, just accept the changes gracefully.

PleaseAndThankYou12 · 12/02/2025 21:43

Got it on my 30th birthday, topped up after 6 months, then 7 months after that. Haven't had a top up since that (last summer) but I am DEFINITELY booking in. I crave the freeze!

Lentilweaver · 12/02/2025 21:44

I think most people look more or less their age, no?

I am 53, never had Botox and look about my age. Colleagues who have had Botox also look their age!

godmum56 · 12/02/2025 21:48

71 and when hell freezes over

TurkeyLurkey4 · 12/02/2025 21:49

Intrigued by this! How much does it cost per session? I am 37. Work stress and lack of sleep/small children have given me deep 11s and I’d love to get rid of them!

ValentineValentineV · 12/02/2025 21:49

50 and it’s last 5 months.

Congratulations, medal is in the post

bridgetreilly · 12/02/2025 21:50

I wouldn’t. I think faces which show the years they have lived are by far more beautiful.

ragandbonewoman · 12/02/2025 21:54

Zusammengebrochen · 12/02/2025 20:06

Another one really saddened to see this being normalised. The only time I ever used botulinum toxin was in cultured cells during a summer project in a lab, and that's how I plan to keep it! It's pretty much always obvious, even if you thinkit isn't. If you really feel have to get some done, please, please ensure it's someone properly qualified.

This is such a nonsense argument. If it wasn’t obvious then you wouldn’t know would you? So for all the people you’ve noticed it on, there could be many more you have no idea about!

Notsuchafattynow · 12/02/2025 21:54

Started at 35, now 53.

I look good for my age. It only lasts 3 months these days so I leave it longer these days.

But it certainly keeps me looking fresher.

Everybody thinks everybody looks younger than they are. Or so they tell us after a certain age anyway. Who in the world tells a 50 something woman she looks every day of it?

Letstheriveranswer · 12/02/2025 22:00

53, get it done annually. It wears off after a few months but as it's a subtle effect just to stop an overactive chin and stop a slight resting frown it's not too noticeable when it fades.

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 12/02/2025 22:01

I'm quite surprised by the amount of young people who have visible wrinkles at 30/35 so much so that they resort to botox.

I only started getting forehead lines last year, and that's only when I'm really tired or dehydrated (then I look like absolute shit anyway).

The face shows so much emotion. Why stop it because you don't look any younger, you look the same age just with smooth skin. Genetics make people look younger not botox.

Sampler · 12/02/2025 22:02

I started getting it in my 50’s. I simply look less tired, not younger, which would be impossible. A lot of women get it but they don’t tell anyone because people judge so much. It’s not a big deal and you wouldn’t notice when it’s done properly. My face isn’t frozen and nothing looks amiss, just less knackered looking ! And before anyone says I’m deluding myself - I have a good non Botox friend who is very honest.

Tumblingthrough · 12/02/2025 22:03

I started 15 years ago.
I’m not taut and shiny.
My face moves and I have wrinkles
I don’t have it to look younger, I just look less pissed off

Wearing make up and colouring hair doesn't prevent someone looking their age. Hair dye can be ageing. So can make up.

I wear more makeup than I did when I was younger (because I have money for the good stuff and have practiced so I'm better at using it). So maybe makeup makes me look older (and richer!).
