And what was your results like? Did it last long? I’m getting it done soon for the first time and I can’t wait lol

43 and it was amazing in my hair it completely stopped me sweating and having wet hair on hot days
On my forehead it was awful! It flet tingling for about 2 months made me look cross with a heavy brow. I won't bother getting it again foe my forehead but I'm already booked in fir my summer hair botox!

Youcanttakeanelephantonthebus · 12/02/2025 20:50

Maybe if you spent the money to pay people to say you look young it would have the same impact.

MySweetGeorgina · 12/02/2025 20:51

I have the most line ridden forehead possible at my age 😁🥲 Am in my fifties, and always had comments about my "expressive face", essentially my eyebrows convey my emotions in an exaggerated way. They have a life oftheir own really. If someone tells a lie or says something I don't believe my left eyebrow will slowly raise all the way up to my hairline GrinGrinGrin it can make people nervous haha

Anyway, if I had Botox I would be prettier, but also lose the facial expressions I do that make people laugh

I'm worried I'd end up looking not like myself anymore

No judgement on people who do use it!

My mum told me she thinks I need it. Not that she's paying?! I think the rule is if you claim to someone they require cosmetic enhancements then you should have to pay for it?!
But...I'm in my mid 40s so apparently it's too late for that and I just would be better off having my face cut off?
What I do genuinely need is a nose job and I can't afford that either. I would get that if I had the money. Nothing else though.

Urgh! Your mum shouldn’t be passing comment o your appearance at all but at the very least she should have the good grace to offer to fund any recommended treatments. She sounds terrible.

DinoLil · 12/02/2025 20:54

😄 I'm 53. Blessed with oily skin and have no wrinkles. Never have had botox.

theriseandfallofFranklinSaint · 12/02/2025 20:55

So is mid 40s too late? I'm so tempted but haven't made the leap yet... 😬

OSU · 12/02/2025 20:56

I am 47 and have not done Botox but am wondering about massateur Botox for tmj while I wait for surgery as it seems to be taking an age and I can't open my mouth properly anymore. However I do wonder about the long term impacts of injecting the botulism bacteria. For example the PoW used to have it and it seems post cancer she doesn't anymore. I wonder if she's been advised not to...

Absolutely nothing.
I agree with the person who said the money could be so much better spent!

Why you so worried about how money that is not yours is being spent?

RaininSummer · 12/02/2025 20:58

Bloody hell. 62 and not yet or never.

Rightsraptor · 12/02/2025 20:59

What makes you think I've ever done it?

LeaveALittleNote · 12/02/2025 20:59

It’s a shame to see how many women judge and belittle other women for getting Botox. A lot of passive aggressive “It’s so sad” and “I’ll never do that” (ie I’m better than those who do…).

I haven’t had Botox, but after going through hell with bereavement and serious health conditions, I’d be interested to try it. I don’t want to look in the mirror and see the pain on my face. I’d like to look happier and fresher again. I’ll probably try it one day and see what I think.

  1. Just for the 11s, which I'd had forever! I was a frowner. 45 now. Perfect result. 4 monthly. Been today!

Just out of interest did it make the 11s softer from the first time you had it ? I hate my 11s and feel like they make me look so grumpy but I’ve heard that Botox prevents and doesn’t cure ? Is this true or does it actually make them look better

Mrscharlieeeee · 12/02/2025 21:13

37 I think I was, I'm now 41. I do 2 areas, forehead and 11s and I do it once a year. For me this is adequate for now, I am lucky in that for my age my skin is in pretty good nick and my mum had me on a good skincare regime from being a teenager and I've always kept it up.

Fleecy · 12/02/2025 21:14

I'm 47 and don't really have any wrinkles, so I've never had it (still get the odd spot), but I would definitely consider it in the future. My SIL has it twice a year and it's never looked anything but natural. She has her 11s done.

admirible · 12/02/2025 21:15

I tried it once in my 40s for forehead lines but it caused my upper eyelids to collapse down wards, used to have lovely big upper eye lids, they went back to normal eventually but it left weird stretch marks on them that never went away. So never again.

babytunes · 12/02/2025 21:17

35

Sarah2891 · 12/02/2025 21:19

Never had it, never will.

100PercentFaithful · 12/02/2025 21:19

I don’t think there is anything wrong with it but I would never get it myself. That’s because I don’t like the look it gives. It doesn’t make people look younger, it just makes them look Botoxed. I also think it’s silly as unless you Botox the neck and décolletage too, it looks really mis-matched skin-wise.

5128gap · 12/02/2025 21:20

32 for 11s that had everyone asking me what the matter was as they thought i was scowling. Had it on and off for the next 20 years. No need now as I've only the faintest lines from all the years of not frowning.

Agreed - never have and never will. However it’s incredibly easy to spot those who have.

SassK · 12/02/2025 21:24

Started late 30's. I only have frown and crows, the rest of my forehead isn't lined. I have a little cheek filler too. I've got full lips so no lip filler needed. I have HIFU treatments too, I can thoroughly recommend HIFU for keeping neck firm (though I also use strivectin).
For those commenting about a desire to look younger. Good botox and filler just keeps you looking fresh and 'healthy', it won't make you look younger (indeed, too much will age you if anything).

doodahdayy · 12/02/2025 21:26

40 and don't want it. I don't have any wrinkles but I expect they will ramp up soon. I don't care though and don't want to look taut and shiny

I find it sad too how women seem to be using more and more injections and fillers to change their appearance. Ageing is a privilege and I don't see the sense in pumping your face with anything like that. Just seems sad.

This.
My daughter (not known for her tact!) said to me earlier to say on walk home from school. "Mum, that lady is very old" pointing to a lady on our street. I as mortified and told her that was rude and she shouldn't say it. She said to me "but why mummy, old means wise, and it means she has had time to love lots of people, she is beautiful as she knows lots and has loved lots". It's funny how we see ageing as a negative, when it's actually a privilege.

Ageing is a privilege but it doesn't mean I have to do it with lines across my forehead when I don't have to!

Never and almost 50. Who put poison in your body. Honestly don't know anyone who does. Thought it was just for the daily fail.
