The fact it seems to be endemic in the entertainment industry suggests that these men are abusing positions of power and exploiting the dynamics of being "the star" with all the bargaining power that entails. It also suggests that production companies, bosses, management teams are failing to safeguard other employees, particularly those in more junior positions, and are failing to act on allegations. These cases always follow the same MO of the "star" being untouchable, allegations being ignored or downplayed, and the abuse being an open secret. It needs to change but it seems like none of them possess the will to make it change.
