Yes the wretched Italian chef - not giving his name credence. https://www.itv.com/watch/news/the-latest-headlines-multiple-claims-of-inappropriate-behaviour-against-gino-dacampo/5wr9dh3

Hiding in plain sight.

There are others, I switch over on another popular "star" because of what he did to me and others when we were young.

AIBU to find this exhausting

I’m sure I read in a gossip email or blind items that there was rumours regarding Gino DiCampo’s relationship with Gordon Ramsey’s daughter Tilly. Not I can remember the source though.

Edited

DiCampo's son was in a relationship with GR's daughter. Not Gino himself.

He was seen teasing GR about it on that programme where they drove a camper fan around Europe.

deste · 06/02/2025 20:59

When Gregg Wallace was outed the first thing I said was that Gino should look out.
He hasnt been on this morning for quite a while.

Ah ok- thank you- I don’t know how I got that so confused!

For once I’m not surprised

Yep. This is entirely unsurprising. Major creepy fuck vibes.

AngryBird6122 · 06/02/2025 21:25

remember Mark Wright on Towie? He was AWFUL to LG and hes a household name now. They just do what they want

AngryBird6122 · 06/02/2025 21:26

Not that MW is an abuser! Just saying, people forget and move on

He made some lewd comments.

I think we need to be really careful with the term "abuse". There are plenty of cases involving celebrities where the word applies, but if we start using it willy nilly, it will lose its very serious meaning.

He made some lewd comments.

So thats sexual harassment according to ACAS - which has a very serious meaning.

I worked with Gino .

He is arrogant , misogynistic, lazy , and unreliable .

protected for years by the fact that he drew ratings.

Pebbles16 · 06/02/2025 20:28

I did. Seventeen year olds in pubs not entirely believed despite compelling evidence. Just trying to answer but really don't want to engage on this element of the post

And you are now no longer 17 and attitudes have changed

Sorry but it was you that bought it to the table

OnTheBoardwalk · 06/02/2025 21:59

I knew he burgled Paul Young's house. I didn’t know till PP said he stole recordings of his wife's voice

i stopped watching him after I found out he'd burgled sometimes house, I’ve had it happen to me and it was absolutely awful. If people who put him on tv knew about the recordings stolen then they should be named and shamed

Another day, another creep.

It is worrying how many there are out there but I'm glad they are being exposed.

Duckyfondant · 06/02/2025 22:02

Won't watch him after seeing him ask a female celebrity guest if she liked anal on celebrity juice. She looked so uncomfortable and he made my skin crawl.

suki1964 · 06/02/2025 20:13

@Pebbles16

If you have been abused by anyone, you have to report it to the police

Don't be sat there hinting there's more out there, OUT them

No, she doesn't.

CarefulN0w · 06/02/2025 22:11

Another one not totally shocked by this one. And OP, I'm sorry about your past experience. Too many men are rewarded for the most appalling behaviour

Totallymessed · 06/02/2025 22:11

I've never understood why he was on TV in the first place with a burglary conviction. Such a nasty crime to commit, very far from victimless.

Do TV bosses still say "lessons will be learnt"? I mean, they obviously never are.

No, she does not have to do that. Who the hell do you think you are? And sadly, times have really not changed much regarding attitudes to women reporting sexual abuse.

The fact it seems to be endemic in the entertainment industry suggests that these men are abusing positions of power and exploiting the dynamics of being "the star" with all the bargaining power that entails. It also suggests that production companies, bosses, management teams are failing to safeguard other employees, particularly those in more junior positions, and are failing to act on allegations. These cases always follow the same MO of the "star" being untouchable, allegations being ignored or downplayed, and the abuse being an open secret. It needs to change but it seems like none of them possess the will to make it change.

Yes. People have been rightly questioning what want on at the Beeb with Saville et al but it turns out ITV are just as bad.

Livelovebehappy · 06/02/2025 22:35

Not surprised at this one at all. His entire persona is based around innuendos.

Yep the knew all about Schofield too. But then when the bosses are helping them jump the queue at the Queen lying in state it does show what they're about.

TheFairyCaravan · 06/02/2025 22:39

Can’t say I’m surprised at this. He’s absolutely vile to women when he’s on camera so it’s obvious he’s worse behind the scenes imo.

I couldn't watch him. Surely there were loads of people like me . I would have thought the ratings would have been better with someone else. I don't understand it.

Not just entertainment but hospitality as well is utterly rife with SA from men and women so it was almost a given that someone like him would be. If they didn't touch you up they screamed the place down if you breathed near them, you need a rhino hide to survive.

That entertainers who worked in hospitality can't keep their wretched hands to themselves is absolutely no surprise.

From men and women?
Pull the other one.

but you just want us to follow your link Hmm

Well yes, obviously.
What's wrong with that?

SpidersAreShitheads · 06/02/2025 22:58

I feel a bit different about these revelations tbh. I've just been trying to work out why because normally I'm absolutely incensed by things like this and I just feel a bit underwhelmed about this one.

I think the difference is that Gino made no attempt to hide who he was. Sleazy, misogynistic, and full of himself - his personality and cocky behaviour was out there for all to see.

So I'm not sure this news story is much of a revelation really - as the comments on this thread prove. None of us are shocked. Sleazy man turns out to be sleazy. Quelle surprise.

I think I'm less outraged by Gino because it was clear who he was and what he was like. Just a nasty, seedy little man - and they're ten a penny. Rightly or wrongly, I find I get angrier at those men who are supposed to be "safe" who turn out to be just as bad. Like Gregg Wallace. Neil Gaiman. Or those in power who enable these men.

In this case, I think the real issue is that Gino continued to be booked, despite his lewd behaviour. People at the top, undoubtedly men, thought his behaviour was fine, even though it was overtly misogynistic and sexual. I find that outrageous, and while systemic and institutional misogyny is rife, we don't stand a chance at rooting these seedy little creeps out.

It's like Hydra. Cut one off and another appears.
